Hey guys
I always find myself having to defend myself and the way I play to lots of random people. Well maybe I dont have to but just feel the need to perhaps? I don't really know but anyway.
So here's a recent thread on 2+2 about this site and how I play poker and I thought rather than explain myself (which I kind of already have, well I just have) I thought I'd give you guys a chance to share what you think is good or perhaps bad about the way I teach and play poker?
In anycase it will be great to see peoples views on how this may or may not be helping them so feel free to go wild.
Here is the original thread: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com...ategy-i-dont-know-if-good-841460/

Read the thread, and I seriously don't see why you would need to defend yourself there. There are people allready "defending" you there so why bother. Whats the saying ? Don't drown the tank ? Put a stickynote with that on your monitor.
If you do feel the urge to defend yourself, next time just post the link to you sharkscope or topshark and shut up for the rest. Anyone seeing your ROI will understand that there is something to the strategy that you play.

You having a midlife crisis ? Last time I checked (and I did not do it today... can't get your player name right ) you had a good ROI yourself and several people that you coached are doing very well. Sure, there is always room for improvement but it looks to me like you got a lot of it right allready. Sure, you will have many more students that don't become instant succeses but thats just poker. It's much more the people themselfs procrastinating than an error in your teaching style. Then again... who am I, you never coached me and I never watched any of the vids (talking about procrastinating) so I might be completely mistaking

Judging by the price you charge for membership of this site, and the number of people that are doing nicely with a little or a lot of your help, I think you can close this thread
Now I will go back into my cave again where I was hiding out |

2+2 all over IMO, an overflooded site, with a lot of idiots with nothing positive or constructive to say ever.
There is a wealth of knowledge / experience there, but you have to go find it.
BUT FFS, you teach a style that adapts.... whilst you have clear proof that there are plenty of players out there that will write you off as passive as soon as a game starts, oooowww he open limped 3 hands in a row.... WTF where did my money go, rematch luck box.
I have watched some of your videos now (last week!) and am looking to find the time to book some coaching with yourself first (as well as _red_dog later on) as I think you have a very clear, logical thought process... I believe once you have the poker lightbulb switched on you can play any style you like, cos you understand the reason behind your actions.
enjoy the arrogant players, like finding money on the floor, don't let them get you down. _________________ BTW. my advice is useless. I suck at poker..... |

Really? Well, all the proof is in the results; here is the time to be results oriented!! Whether you limp pre or min/lil raise pre flop, its making the right decisions post flop vs your villian(w/ reads) that will guide you to the right course to win that specific match. You can always make adjustments!! Many ppl not just on-liners use a small ball approach these ppl along w/ a few here make a good living at it!! Just find a style that fits you and if it works improve upon it!! Run good!! _________________

F 2+2 in the A. To many know it all's on there. There are some real good players on there, but their advice is lost amongst a sea of morons usually.
I have read all the archive stuff on there, and that is as good as it gets imo. This site although it doesn't have the size of 2+2 (obv) There are real helpful people on here, who want to help other members.
Brokerstar , end of the day , your a winning player, we all know it, you have the proof that your methods work. People keep coming to you for help and coaching, so screw the small minded idiots that refuse to see you can do anything a different way to what they do.
I had played 3 heads up matches before I found this site, so most of what I know has come from you, and the other members. I can now beat $5 and $10 for certain.
That isn't because you or anyone else walked me through it, but I take the advice away from this site, evaluate it all, then put it in to practice in a style that suits myself. I'm sure you don't teach everyone all of your secrets, but just give people a structure to work with and build on.
I for one am really grateful , to you and every other member on this site that took the time to help me.
Back to the aggressive stance. Screw the no believers ! |

To be honest guys I know I have nothing to prove and I have no idea why I get deffensive about some 2D views. Chicagory is probably the guy I respect the most in the HUSNG community and his comments, as always were fair.
I guess it's the fighter in me, or the ginger (maybe both). _________________ Heads Up Poker Course
