I've had a few questions about how hand history reviews work, and I'm sorry for assuming everyone had experience or understood the general process. What usually happens is one person sends the hand history file generated by the poker site they are playing on to someone who will look over the game. There are some web sites that you import these hand history files into that will show a replay of the game in a way that's easy to read the hole cards and bet/pot sizes instead of trying to interpret the raw text file. There's also free software called "universal replayer" that works really well for this.

From the reviewers end, once you receive the game, you can look through the hands and make comments on them (similar to if you were posting advice on a hand in the forums for example). Some people like to talk over skype while replaying the game together, some would rather write their comments in a word document and send it back to the player, other times the reviewer might make a video of themselves looking over the game and talking about it (sounds like this is popular in this thread) and send this back. In the end these are just some options and it's probably best to talk with those who you're exchanging with to see what works for you two. Videos are certainty not required, it just seems like there's a lot of interest in posting links to reivews so more of us can learn.

Also, there seems to be some worry about not being able to be helpful to the person you're reviewing. fwiw I find discussing hands to be helpful regardless of skill level because you're forced to give the reasoning behind why you agree or disagree. I hope there wasn't a huge expectation created as it's just a friendly game exchange Smile

. Again the "pyramid" scheme or whatever was just a way of organizing the exchange in a way that hopefully is most helpful.

The two guys that I'm working with, I'll be free after the weekend to get together. What I want to do is you guys pick a game that you were lost in and we'll watch it on your computer with Teamviewer and talk through it.

If you want to record the session the feel free to. Rather than me just review a game and post what I think, I'd sooner get into a conversation about thought process and reasoning to make sure you get as much out of it as you can Smile
