I hope I am like many, I still think of myself as new to poker
Having played poorly, gone through the HUSNG course and played LESS poorly I thought it was time to stop being a fish.
Armed with my new wait 5 flashes of the Pokerstars avatar before acting, I am 7-1 for the day at $1.50
I hope I am right but I truly think I previously played too quickly and bet/raised without thinking. I have learnt a lot, but it isn't unconscious knowledge.
I had my Jerry Mcguire moment looking through a hand history, seeing plays and thinking how did I lose to this idiot.
Then realised I was looking at my own play.
We've all been there, new start, new graph....

So far so good.
Losses were 99 vs J7s and they hit two pair
77 vs A5 and they spiked an Ace
TT hitting a set on the flop but losing to a flush.
But as always there was so good varience in the other matches too
All in all I am pleased as I have lost matches to close marginal situations, all of which I would have done the same against the player type and situation given my current level of play and poker education. |

Nice work so far mate!
I doubt you remember me, but I actually played you I think like 4 games on Fulltilt waaaay back before I discovered tagpoker (at the $1.10 games).
You played under "welshdentist" with the nurse avatar right? You were quite friendly in chat- and was saying you are trying to learn the game (I think you didn't discover tagpoker at this point yet either). _________________ 'Yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation' yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation. |

I'd literally played in the pub a few times at that point...
Still a fish though lol |

Gonna keep posting often as it fires me to keep going with play ans study. Had toughest match to date. Hybrid TAG/Tight Passive....he did have fold button though....
He would raise preflop regularly, follow up with cbets, but when he showed weakness on the turn with a check or small raise and small bet or check raise pushed him of most pots.
Finished off in style with a disguised flopped but flush and followed him to the river where I shoved and he snap called with the J high flush.
Fish on a heater keeps on going
I am exclusively playing $1.50's on Pokerstars until I am happy to move up to the next level.
Run well guys gggggggooooogogogogogog |

Nice run so far
I don't remember winning/losing, but I do remember I marked you down as a fit/fold robot postflop (sorry ), and looked to sit you whenever I saw (but later on I stopped playing husngs, and still later, I moved up, and you stopped playing anyway).
I think you were also 3xing your buttons at like 15bbs and I remember reshoving many Ax and other hands during endgame.
No worries though, we all started from somewhere, and I wasn't that great either at the time. (And a year ago before learning anything, I was the most tight passive fish ever- thinking about folding sets on dry boards etc vs other fish). _________________ 'Yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation' yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation. |

Amazing how our true faults come back to haunt us
Whenever someone gets aggro on me, my default is still to be a fit/fold guy, but getting better at understanding mine and other players ranges and equity.
My endgame play would have been terrible, especially to shoves..

Very up and down week, played poorly imho but keep having days where I win and lose the same. As much volume as I can at present...
Looking forward to a big shift over the weekend....
