First of all, I respect you a lot Brokerstar and you've done a good job with the forums and what not and have quite a solid base going here.  I've been lurking for a while have been fairly impressed with what I've seen on the whole.

However, while your forum is going well I have some doubts over the credibility of you as a coach.  At the moment I'm grinding $1s and $2s on iPoker and only started playing HUSNGs a bit over 3 months ago, making me pretty much a very standard micro-donk.  I've never really won any substantial amount of money and have been prone to going on big downswings in my career.

Despite this, I'm fairly confident that my poker mind could easily match it with you and I think this would be a good chance for you to show that you can actually beat the games that you coach.  The $50 - $5000 challenge you did 3 years ago was good in its own right but games are becoming tougher today, even at the lower stakes.  I'm proof of that.

So, why not prove that you are still able to beat the games you coach?  We don't see a lot of action from you these days and I think it would be good for your publicity if you won this and would show many potential candidates that you are very capable of beating the micros and a worthwhile choice as a coach.  Personally, I think that I could definitely step it up a notch and I have a fair deal of confidence that I would win overall.

So, while the HU4ROLLZ scheme of things isn't exactly correct for you, it is well and truly for all of my roll plus a lot more.  I think that just proves the amount of confidence I have in my game and my ability to beat you over a sample.  What I suggest is we play a smallish sample of matches at the $3.50s on PokerStars, or $5s on iPoker.  The first player to win 51 reg speed matches while 2-tabling will be the victor of the challenge.

For you, this is a chance to prove you can beat the games that you coach and for me - it's a chance to prove that you aren't all that.  And I think there are far more worthy candidates to be coaching out there.  For mine - this is a far more intriguing challenge than your $50 - $5000.  This is whether you can actually beat a micros player with a bit of confidence, unlike the droolers hitting their keyboards three years ago.

Peace.

Looking at your graph, I think your confidence might be a bit misplaced....

This is like Elwood vs PrimordialAA all over again

Think that post is lol

However, it would be good for the site if Broker did some more work on HUSNG, because it seems to take a back seat these days, and after all that is what the site was all about.

I'm happy to extend my challenge to you as well if you think my confidence is a little misplaced.  Just let me know what site you want to play on.

Prove that I can beat $2 HUSNG's?? Do I really need to prove that I can beat $2 HUSNG's?

You are saying that your poker mind will easily match mine? Cool beans, I'm happy for you, so go and build a bankroll and then feel free to join me in the $200 - $400 buy poker games that I still play today (yes, you heard it, todays games lol).

Firstly I don't play poker for ego, I play for money, lots of people have challenged me and each time I turn them down (well except for Borg where I ran like god three times lol). You have to examine your motive for playing. Do you want to be the best in the world? Fine go challenge lots of great players and prove yourself.

Do you want to grind out a living and make some money? Cool then try to play as many fish as possible (that's where the money is for most of us).

Second, I can't see how entering a challenge with a break even $2 player will do anything for my publicity? If I lose, I look retarded, if I win, who really gives a shit?

Thirdly I have just (as of this morning) turned a $50 deposit into $10,000 whilst starting at the 3c/6c NL6 games only a couple of months ago.

Lastly, most of my students have show marked improvements in their games and results after coaching sessions and they are playing 'todays games'.

Why don't you play some of them and see if they give you some feedback on your game at the same time which will help you beat the micros.

I assure you that a trained monkey can beat $2 games, even in todays micro stake games  Wink

Best of luck.

Broker

broker turned 50$ to almost 10000$ those last 2 or 3 months by grinding all the way from the micros. so whats your point exactly??

are you sure that its not your big ego that prevents you from crushing the lower stakes?

Good to know that you are full of confidence and you can talk yourself up all you want.  $200 - $400 games?   Was that supposed to sound like you play these high stakes HUSNGs or just 1/2 cash on the softest site ever?

It's cool, champ.  You can talk all you want, I just don't think you are justified to coach any decent levels of HUSNGs.

Would you consider doing this HU4ROLLZ if the stakes were $30s?

Feel free to name some coaching candidates who you have recently coached and who have learnt fully from you, and I'd be happy to play them.

in order to make the most money you have to challenge yourself. playing fish all the time wont make you the most money longterm and definitely stunts a poker career.

Unfortunately we get comfortable (myself v much included) and stop pushing ourselves and therefore actually decrease our longterm expectation just because it's "easy" to make XXXXX$ per month

i'll play your challenge OP. could be funny
