What do you think of this line? Villian is a typical TAG and winning player in  small to mid stakes with 11% ROI(looks like he's building a roll), so i know he's got a brain and i thought he was playing quite standard against me. Cbetting a lot, ran one or two double/tripple barrels on obvious boards. I was pulling some pretty crazy moves on this guy, because sometimes regs behave so predictably. Also I'd only been caught bluffing small and rarely and he'd hero called me in some spots where my range was likely to be weak and i always showed the goods. Although in other spots i was bluffing a load, which he was of course aware of, but he hadn't figured out what i was up to yet imo.

Love making this play(maybe a bit donk), but i only do it once maybe twice a match against certain opps. That's why I'm posting(brag). I think i look so strong when i call, call, shove and he's so likely to fold imo without the k and i think he's either bluffing, got a 9 and puts me on draws or weak pairs until i shove the river:) Anyway, interested in whether this is good, bad or not worth it for the chips i'm gaining and the times he calls? It puts him in a tough position i think...

Flop call is fine, folding turn though. Lots of people can't fire 2/3 barrels on these boards, and they're often correct not to barrel off.

ok, bad move. lol!....seemed like genius at the time. Probably because it worked:)

One thing though i just had a feeling he was going to barrel this board and had already made up my mind to call down. When i got to the river i stupidly changed my mind and thought he had something and it was either shove or fold...probably? Do you mean reads dependant?

Jakester...you mean he's more likely to have value?

This is a bad board to barrel, so anyone competent wont be barrelling after we c/c the flop, unless they're good enough to know we've got some Ax floats, and not much strong Kx, which at $7's, I doubt.

yeah looking now i must admit i have doubts lol

If this was mortal combat it felt like a special ninja move at the time, but its probably more like hacking all the buttons and getting rewarded...

edit: is a fairly dry flop though..but yeah once called i guess can put them on a flush draw, 9x, even 3x sometimes, PPs...

The king on the turn doesn't change the board from your perspective so I would imagine that when he fires again and is a 'standard TAG' type player then he's likely value betting as opposed to just randomly barreling.

So it kind of looks like you're making a play, for the sake of making a play and hoping it works.

If there was more to your reasoning such as "I had notes that he snap fires turn when he's weak and times slightly strong and in this case he snap fired so based on that I decided to make an elaborate play", then that's one thing. But here, I have to say my man that it looks a little bit hit and hope and a results orientated brag?  Rolling Eyes

Don't let that discourage you from thinking outside the box but this isn't a line that I would go out of my way to use personally without super strong, specific reads and even then I can't imagine it would form a huge part of my game plan.

Run good man.

Cheers for the replies guys. Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head Dom. "for the sake of making a play" and being results orientated. I do do this a bit if I think on the river I can get them to fold if shoved on. All experimentation I guess - must make sure I don't turn into an uber donk in the process.

Running ok at the mo in general so I'll think ill stick to solid play from now on!!
