Does he realise this is not a 2+2 thread.....
This would have to be one of the most informative and helpful sites going around. I would suggest sir, that either your english had trouble deciphering what he was trying to imply, or you might want to get your response across in a manner of respect, especially to those that are actively trying to help out, and by no means, being ignorant to that fact.
In other words, dont bite the hand that feeds you. _________________ "The men who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed." |

i guess your responce was a little harsh
i dont think 30 buyins is enough
but you need to work out what you think your worst downswing can be
and make that your limit to lose before moving down
eg with $500 you have 100 buyins at $5
but pokerstars doesnt have $5 only got $3.5 or or $7
so if you playing $3.5 the by 3 at a time
you might want at least $500 to work reasonably comfortably and if get to $1000 then move to $7
or as Jake said play less tables and play better for more
but dont insult the guys on here they dont like it
as for 30 buyins to 25 i think it might be fine for singles table play
not sure i like it for multi table play
but that is a personal thing
good luck with your game |

yes 2+2 can be downright nasty
i wonder why they even respond to a player when they obviously not interested in what they write and ask about |

the amount of buy-ins is far more than you actually say. if you have 30BIs for 10s, $300, obv. but if you go on a 30BI downswing, you shouldnt be broke.
Because we have a set $ boundary that we move down at. maybe $150 for 5s, a fresh 30BIs for this level even though we just lost 15BIs, moving down at $60 for 2s (a further 18 BI's) and $30 for 1s, (further 15BIs)
so for a "30 BI" roll you actually have 78BI's before busto at the softest stakes.
having a roll big enough to never move down is a mistake.
trying to find an amount where you never lose a 'set % of your roll' is not only impossible to determine, but also irrelevent to the overall growth and progression of your roll and potential. _________________ If interested in coaching, drop me a PM.

Boom, one love!!!!!!
All the serious stuff has been answered in regards to bankroll management so not really anything to add I guess.
I personally am more than happy to move up and down in stakes so as long as I have a move down plan for when I DO run bad then my roll is pretty safe (as long as I'm playing well that is).
To the OP, this forum is a happy place man, we're all on the same side, trying to head in much the same direction. If you disagree with someone that is cool and to be fair, the point of a forum but this is a friendly place where people shouldn't fear asking questions or giving answers.
We're all at different levels. Some are complete beginners, egar to learn, some are more intermediate and then there are the higher stakes ballers (some of which have already replied to you).
As much as I love to see this place grow (I really do), the vibe is more important to me. There are plenty of poker forums out there with lot's of other people waiting and willing to dish out abuse ( 2+2 Forum)
So by all means feel free to jump back in with your questions and feedback but you'll likely get much more out of the forums with a more friendly attitude towards everyone.
Best of luck
