z1s6arn_$50-$500 Challenge[img]Hey guys,
This is a quick explanation of how things have been going.
Up until the first point [a] NO COACHING_Total Losing player
Point [a] to [b] BROKER IS COACHING ME_TRYING TO GET IT
Point [b} to point [c] Lots of easy Rocks and Calling stations, applying the very basic principles to the game_solid 8 wins in streak
Point [c] to bottom LOSING STREAK Memorizing Agro lesson and really struggling to remember how to put in each move and why. Getting totally confused with no game plan. Players switching gears and nothing in my mind that gives that feeling of a plan. It was exceptionally frustrating and dented my confidence. After such a losing streak I managed to remember the moves and apply them. Funnily I got loads of agro players to practice on and applied the style in the videos on the website. Within 50 games I started to understand why the oppent gear changes. How he was adjusting to me and how I would counter what he predicted I was doing. I would adapt to his style and find all of his weakness's and exploit them. Any sign of solid hands and I would some how know and fold. The step by step robotic remembering of moves in the lessons faded and it became really smooth and coherent play. One thing I noticed was as soon as you stop thinking and stop self talking you start losing. I ALWAYS note the most obvious tells on my note pad. I could not win without making notes. In the last 50 games it was about 20% ROI.
Next week. Memorizing call station theory and reviewing agros again.
Hope this motivates and have a good one at the tables guys.

yup... I had so many notes from this site, and the course... I cant even tell you how many pages on each player type... and I kept them with me on my desk ready to scan over at a moments notice during play.... in fact they are still on my desk buried under all these bills...lol

Response to hjbear_Should I do the condensed or 1 on 1????Mate,
If you can afford it do the $200 course with Broker. The journey will be more enjoyable and rewarding if you get the basics directly from him. He does a great job of explaining little things in new ways to help you better understand the principles. Hes honest and really patient when you don't quite get it and really sincere in his approach. It makes starting just that more exciting knowing you've got a lesson with Broker and you have no idea what your going to learn. It really has that element of suprise by completely changing how you look at the game. Yes you could do it without live coaching if you really wanted. Live coaching just has that edge over recorded videos which by the way you'll get to see anyway after finishing with Broker.
One note is just make a recording each lesson to review for later....
Take care,
Scratch
Basically...Just book the lessons!

Update_400-550 games
Everything was running smoothly up until the 450 game mark and then suddenly boom. I got smashed to bits. I must have turned into the most ultra passive tight nit that the poker world had ever seen. In fact I had one guy try and coach me and tell me to up my aggression (wot cheek!). Although he was right and I was mega pissed at such slander, the boy did have a valid point. I started looking at how to handle players that were constantly donk betting in raised pots and limped pots and raising me preflop when the blinds where high. With a little bit of fine tuning I noticed something interesting. Rather than trying to bluff these loose players I just waited knowing that there time would be up. Guess what ladies and gentleman....Using all your weak lines in the low blinds phase and using them in the high blinds phase meant that it took one mistake and boom boom boom! These monkies finally got a bannana up the a@%$!
Its coming together. Its making actual sense in my tiny little brain and I must thank blazing for his kind words. For next week I will be reviewing particular games and trying to find leaks in myself and devise strategies for particular annoying player types. This processed has been very useful so far......
So from today
BR = +$53.69
Oh one final note. It is so liberating to get to the river after having piled 1000 chips in and realizing hes hit his monster on the river and being able to say you know what I'm going to swallow my flipping pride fold this hand leaving me crippled and I'm gonna smash you to bits because you have a billion leaks. Guess what, you can! Thankyou Broker!
Good night I'm off to bed

Nice one man and well done getting through a very rough patch. $2 games are just the same as the $1 games as are the $5 and $10 games so don't worry about them. Instead just make sure you have enough roll to play them responsibly.
Good luck man.

BANK ROLL MANAGEMENTHere are so rules that I'm going to stick by that I found from reading someones post of a link @ http://www.pocketfives.com/f7/jen...ecialists-aspiring-move-up-42526/
If anyone has any more advice then I would sincerely appreciate your thoughts
BANKROLL MANAGEMENT RULES!!!!
1) Take a break when you feel frustrated and angry and wait until you have calmed down
2) If you lose 6 straight games in a row STOP for the day and the next day re-evaluate the games_PUT IN A 12HR RESTRICTION. REMEMBER You don't ever want to damage your hard work by playing outside you bankroll, or chasing losses.
2b)Check your cashier and graph at the end of the week
3) ALWAYS ALWAYS PLAY WITHIN YOUR BANK ROLL LIMIT. ALWAYS MOVE UP CAUTIOUSLY JUST LIKE CHRIS FERGUSON. IT TAKES THE PRESSURE OFF BECAUSE YOU ARE RISKING LESS. Have a drop down in stakes strategy.
4)Take your funds from POKER and put them into LIFE
5) Start with 10% of weekly profit above BR_$350 always be prepared to re-evaluate the situation and I dont mean less
6)Reduce your attachment to the money. Having a really tight BR management means you are investing less and therefore you feel less attached. Remember Phil Ivey was never controlled by winning or losing money, he just didn't care, zero attachment!
7)Be careful of that 'feeling' of oh I can get a huge reward if I risk all this money and this applies in poker and ANY other form of investment in business. We can easily buy into false hope through greed and that fantasy fairytale ending.
8)What do you REALLY need the money for? Why are you doing this on what is your long term plan? Write it down and use 'critical thinking'. What do you really need and want from this money and where is your personal fine line of greed and balance? You may need to redefine how much materialism and at what quality you need to be happy. Be careful of investing to much positive emotional attachment to things! It is easy to imprison yourself and think you are free.
9)Where is the stop point. Do you have a plan or a point of contentment. How will you wind down and when and when does it stop?
10)When I become a consistent winner how can I have a balanced life?
11)Can I use this income for new streams of continuous financial revenue streams?

This was a random opportunity!! I went to France to visit my lovely other half and had to open a french account. Played on that build a little more BR and came back to sunny UK. Anyways I logon to my FT.com account and they saaaay NNNOOO you cannot play here anymore because you are a french based player. Turns out I had to open a new account. This is great if you didnt like your name and wanted a name change ahah but awful for your SS graph!
SOOO my new name is Adapt n Evolve and I wanted to give myself a name that would constantly remind me to do something positive each game. It feels a little gay bbbbuuut it does work becasue I constantly read it!
Back to the point.

Its been a solid weak. Very pleased and another $100 to go before I have a crack at the $10s. I decided to stay with the HUSNG's because I felt that I maybe trying to find some kind of easy way out through the cash school. There cash school will always be there. Sooo after much thought and I chose to finish what I started aiming to get good at one thing at a time. I'm glad I did and congrats to ICEMAN for his place in the hall. These moments motivate the next generation of players that this is worth it! Are you listening kantor?
Oh and thankyou again Broker I would not have got to even this small mile stone without you.

I cannot believe how much has been achieved this week. I was expecting this update in another week!
The first bank roll challenge is COMPLETE. Whoever is reading this I want to assure you I started poker in September and I have been working at this almost everyday. I saw all the bank roll threads and thought it was too good to be true. Well here is yet another example of brokers winning students.
What next? $5000??

p.s If the numbers don't add up its because I've received $30 in FT bonus's
