I'm confused. Why are you folding aces-up in a HU game? Was he generally only that aggressive with the goods?

fold seems fine to me, doesn't have a worse value hand imo

I have no idea how to play HU, I just thought at this level people were generally really aggressive, and also thought aces up is a super strong hand HU.

Ben is such a sarcastic kent (I know I know, pot/kettle etc). But just because it is a strong hand sandman, doesn't mean that it is just mandatory to send it in. If you think about it, street for street its very difficult for villain to have a worse hand that plays it like this for value. So we have to determine, what hands does he turn into bluffs that bet/call the flop?

AK? A2 in 2nd hand? Am I a dumbass? Bueller? Bueller?

I'm scatching my head here - Can you explain your thought process for these two hands ? I can understand hand 1 I think.....
His value range has hands like 66 (unlikely as we have blocker) 88 1010 68 108 A10 A8 A6 his bluff raising range is hands like 109 98 67 87 A7 A9 (doubtfull about the A7 A9) unless he thinks you have worse A I guess...? So this is kinda close with no reads a fold or call is close here imo
Hand 2 Call quicker - his value range here is so short its not normal he has to have A10 or Q10 as played vilain never has a set or AQ here -
Not played HU for a while properly but this would be my thinking behind these hands

just because a value range is much narrower doesnt necessarily mean there are more bluffs in his overall range

So what can he be raising here ?
|
kierkegaard1
|
it depends on the strength of his checkback range. if he checks back extreme strength then AA/AQ/22/AT/QT/TT
something like that seems conceivable.
his line looks REALLY strong, and i cant see any bluffs here
|
siminitt

I think the complete opposite - lets work it out.
He can have AA QQ 22 AQ Ax Qx connecting spades
He never checks back 22 here so we now eliminate that hand so his range is AA QQ Ax Qx
now on the turn when we check raise I expect him to 4bet here with all big hands AA QQ AQ so now his hands are reduced to Ax Qx Connecting Spades
So if we do the math on it on the river we are saying he raises river with A10 Q10 A2 910 maybe KQ turning hand into bluff and missed spades so thats 6 hands we beat 5 of these hands that we have put vilain on so the math is this we beat 5 hands lose to 1
1/6 = 0.16 therefore as a rough estimate we will only lose the pot 16% of the time so now to the betting
preflop 200 in total 100 each
flop check round
turn 550 in total - 275 each pot total 550 + 200 = 750
River 900 total 450 from each player with raise of 630 on top pot total now 200 + 550 + 900 + 630 = 2280
sooo 2280 + 630 if we call x 0.84 (% of time we win hand) - 630 = 1814 therefore calling here is the correct play and most profitable one
hope this makes sense
