Villain donk betsHi guys,
How should we view repeated donk betting on flop?
Does it depend on player type?
How do you tackle it? Is there a % you look out for?
Cheers

I think you should play it almost like you were playing someone who was raising all your limps or 3 betting a high amount. Tighten the range of hands you raise with and be willing to bluff raise the flop. Also I find these guys vulnerable to floats. So call on the flop and bet if checked to.

start 3betting them, most of the time they will fold unless they hit the flop or have overs.

Depends.
For the percentage, if it's like 30%, then he is very likely to be doing it with some kind of hand. (thats roughly the percentage someone hits the flop)
So if it's something like that, then it is likely he does it with some kind of hand and 3betting or floating might not give the disered result. He might very well be a calling station with his weak hand.
So it depends on how often he is repeating it. After that, it definetly depends on player type. If he is doing it 100%, sure, then bluff raising or floating will work.

if you see it alot, look for dry flops to try riasing the donks to see if you will get folds, if you do just keep raising his donks till he plays back at you, it will be pretty effective counter.

It's pretty easy actually. It's up to you to find out what it means. Sometimes it is easy than others, I mean if they are potting every time, it becomes difficult, but just have a think about how exploitable it is. A donk usually means something, it's sometimes a draw, sometimes a weak pair, and if it's every single hand, it just means exactly that, they have nothing 70% of the time.
The first thing to do, is drop you Pre flop raise to a min raise, so you can control the pot.
It can be annoying, but it's such a poor play in the main, and not that difficult to exploit.

I love Blazzings suggestion of reducing preflop raises to control the pot on the flop. Would never had thought of that!
