Tulabas vs Hu sng

Hi all Cool
This thread/blog will mainly be poker related, not much real life involved.
Poker experience: have been playing poker for about 2-3 years. with rakeback and bonuses i made profit overall, but cashouted some, had ups and downs...but my wins werent significant. I had few blogs on my country forums, but they werent succesfull as there werent many people to disscus with me and help me. Hope this is the right place to start fresh, receive help and hopefully help others later...
To be honest, i was never motivated to learn, read, do hh reviews..so basically i just posted hands from time to time.. Now i understand that its time to change for real, that in order to win i need to study..
My main goal is to play good, make good decisions.
Long term goal: reach win rate of atleast 10$/h without rakeback/bonuses.

I'll play on full tilt with rakeback.
BR:111$ + should get 2 20$ ring game tickets for added bonus clearing.

won't post my all time graph as its ugly and it has nothing to do with my new begining:)

hope that you will be active and help me, which later could make me able to help others Smile

Got some questions:
1) in my all time graph Ev is up green line when i pres "graph $ won" , but EV line is at the bottom of green line when i pres "graph buyins".. explane this please.
2) how do you think i should use my 2 20$ ring game tickets? Imo NL5 or NL10 would take too much time to clear,as it requires lots of FTPs.i might even loose it in the process of clearing it..
I'm thinking about trying to luxbox PLO10 rush, players there are terrible, i can beat them and i get FTPs there faster..
tulabas

i hope i wont speak to myselft as it mostly was in last blog Very Happy
i lost those 2 tickets, but made about 10$ profit, PLO10 rush is so soft, but variance hurts with 4buy ins.. Very Happy
today played 2,2 rush rebuy tourney(not turbo) i like those as ppl are really weak there..last hand was all in preflop with AA vs JJ for 200bb pot Razz it hurts when ppl playing like total idiots 3bets all in 100bb and wins with JJ..well, someday Very Happy

1) If you've played different buy in levels then the amount you've won will be vastly different to buyins won. For example should I lose 100 $1 games but win a $1k my $ graph will be up but my buyins one will still be in the negative.

hit 200$ br mark.. played alot today: many hu and some rush mtts, went deep in 2.2, all went short and i had to push with dominated ace, too sad..still ~30 from 1500+ with rebuy in turbo is a great achievment imo..im happy about my play, still missed something i quess:)
tomorrow ill play only to complete bronze iron man day, as i have alot of uni work, i play too much poker and study way too less...need to work there and ship some exams.
gl everyone at the tables, wish you to not get unlucky Very Happy

Hi mate.

I think it will help you long term to set out a plan. I know you have written your long term goal, which is great, and very achievable indeed. However you need to have short term goals too.

Also some kind of Bankroll Management plan, for moving up and down etc, and a study plan is also good. I don't know if you have read it, but I wrote a fairly long post which is stickied in the HU Poker Strategy part of the forum.

Good luck, I will follow your progress.

I think you played it okay, I don't think I could resist raising that river though, small bet like that is a blocking bet almost always.

tulabas

i agree, short term goals can be usefull:)
1) win some money for summer fun.
2) reach 22$ lvl till new semester.

p.s. i think i have red that post, but it was long ago so i might reread it Razz
Linoleumaz

googogogogo!

Just FYI, he's Lithuanian, just like me! Glad to meet someone who's interested in poker from Lithuania here.

About the hand:

I think that preflop you should have raised to 2.5BB or 3BB as it is often more profitable in low buy in games, not minraised. Therefore you could be a little bit more sure that villain is not playing junk hands like 97, 98, 73, 83, etc., because early in the match I tend to call a minraise with any two OOP and then laydown pretty easily.

The river was definitely played bad, because as it was allready mentioned, small bet like this OOP is often a block bet, so we are pretty sure we have the villain beat in this situation with him holding 9Xd, Jx, TK or other missed hand. We raise small, for example to 250 or 300 chips, as there is 750 in the middle allready and take the extra chips down.

How did the hand end? GL with the papers.
tulabas

he had A2..
papers...i'm sure i'll need some Smile thx

well: i started playing rush mtt along with hu sng. 1hu table 1 rush mtt..and results are great, im doing fine in mtts and break even at hu. u could say that this distracts me from hu, but rush mtt at 4$ level is just big hands pushing preflop and getting call by crap, so its prety much automatic till antes.what is more, got 30$ from rakeback, whick is always nice.
BR atm: 438.98$
today im going to the downtown, get some fun .by the way, till thursday ive got to whrite my last paper - 10pages Confused  Rolling Eyes   probably wont be updating much till thursday..

ive also been thinking about self exclusion when exams begin. what do you think? Very Happy
tulabas

hey all.
few big news:
1) Br hit 500mark, im proud of it very much
2) i have joined skype chat with some hu sng players..we did hh reviews, sweat sessions..im sure it will be helpfull
3) im still playing rush mtts along with sng..i'm doing great in them..many deep runs in 2$ rebuys, but i'm getting terible suckouts or loosig important flips, when there is top 200 from 2k+ with rebuys....
last one was QQ vs JJ, op played terible as he called my utg 4bet all in for 50bb(btw, he wasnt short, like 60-70bb)..i would have never called in his spot..im proud of makind some big lay downs, like JJ,AK preflop..dont want to gamble as those regular fishes...
what is more, i payed alot attention to giving suckouts...and i didnt noticed any except standar situations like KKvsAA, or BvB AKvsKK and stuff like that..thats one more thing im proud of:P
good luck everyone at the tables.
U Cook Socks

I can't think of many situations when you should be folding AK, or JJ pre flop ever. You are just burning money if you are doing this.
tulabas

tons of situations like this..when eff stacks 100-150bb for example..utg raise, u 3bet, he 4bets...whats the point of fliping at best, when u have a healthy stack.Smile

Hold on a minute, I may have missed some of this thread, I thought you were playing HUSNG. If you are playing Cash games, then yes there are situations when you can fold these hands.

If you are playing HUSNG, unless you are playing DeepStacks , the effective stacks will never be 100bb , and it is a pretty huge mistake to be folding JJ and AK pre flop.
tulabas

was talking about the play in tournaments , when i said folding AK JJ Razz
tulabas

was on a big down/tilt swing...now im ok i gues, bebuilt my br which is cool:)
tulabas

hi there,
haven't updated few days...
had problems with BRM and tilting, now i think i'm able to deal with it..i decided not to play any tournament for a month and no bigger limits than 6$ sng..i noticed that when i have like 20bi im a big scared money, in 22$ people outplays me, because i'm scared to make a move in good spots and stuff...
btw, had great day -80$, even though burned 30$ in mtt(before deciding to leave money in them for others:DDD )
Br: 251$..

p.s. looks like this blog isnt one of the most interesting...thats obv my fault, but i don't know how to rate it better.....Smile
tulabas

self excluded myself from FT. i need to take a break.
