Table selection

I hear people talking about "table selection" (BS, in one of his vids, talks about being accused of table selection in order to attain his impressive results - an assertion he denies).  I either just sit an existing player or sit at a vacant table and wait.  On sharkscope (I don't have a sub so only have limited access) I've noticed a Tournament Selector but that only seems to be for 6+ tables.  Is there some strategy/tool to avoid regs and/or face fish more often?

Just sit first. It's as simple as that.

Cheers for the prompt response.  I figured as much but thought I might be missing something.  So, is it a rough rule-of-thumb that regs generally sit first (and wait) whilst fish tend to sit 2nd?  Is this more relevant at the higher stakes?

I was watching a vid, from another site, between 2 regs.  The guy making the vid sat 2nd and was mildly berated by the first as if to say, "Why would you sit a reg when there's plenty of fish in the sea?"  It made me wonder whether there's some etiquette about regs avoiding other regs and whether the player sitting 2nd should research the 1st before sitting.

I don't think it is more relevant at the higher stakes, but the "regs" at the lower stakes are bad too, they aren't really regs as such, they may just have a little bit of an idea, but generally still be bad.

There is no rule saying regs can't sit regs, if you feel you have an edge over someone, then you should sit them. Bad regs don't like it, cos they want to sit and lap up all of the fish, but they can't have it their own way all of the time.

Brilliant!  Thanks for clearing that up.  I was clearly reading more into it than there was.
