If he's so tight and passive yet folds to minstabs a lot, then he only calls when he has a decent piece. So I'm not checking the nuts when he has called once, because passive players tend to check back MUCH more often than they bet. Plus how often are you going to have the nuts when he has something good enough to call? Value-town that sucker.
And if you don't want to "scare him off", facing a check raise is not going to make him feel safer than calling another lead-out. I would just bet bet bet. |

I thought that was the case. Sometimes I need to clear out of my brain and ideas a fancy sucking them in plays and just ABC value bet that sucker.
When he called the flop 1/2 pot bet I have to be honest and was hoping he had an Ace or a pair and improved on the turn. When the 2h came I was hoping he had hit the lower straight and would get it in if I looked weak with a min check raise. Over complicating simple value betting it would seem. And also not as tight as I thought as he was willing to shove when he hit two pair on the turn, thought my betting did look weak. |
