Site to play on?Have 3 options for which sites to play, at $5 level, but hoping to move up through $10 and $20 once ive gone through some coaching and got some studying in.
1) Betfair (Ongame)
Pros: Players seem unbelievably weak, can now get cash bonuses with store points which equates to RB of about 12%ish at Silver level I think. Difficult to accurately work out cos they have these boosters things. Need to crunch a few numbers. Due to lower amount of serious places can often pick up some extra cash from rake races (made £30 extra in December)
Cons: Software looks nice but is quite glitchy, struggles with multitabling. 10% rake level is a killer.
2) Full Tilt
Pros: Already have an account with 27% rakeback set up. Great software. 5% rake level.
Cons: Have never played HU on there, how many regs?
3) Stars
Pros: My favourite software of the lot. Insane traffic. 5% rake level
Cons: Have a buddy that played a lot of heads up (mainly NBIs [shudders]) he says its full of regs. No rakeback.
I just cant decide!! Whats your thoughts? Im leaning towards leaving Betfair and moving back to Full Tilt.

Stars and FT at the $5 are full of regs....reg fish
I wouldnt bother with 10% rake unless you think the amount of fish there can cover the extra rake?

Ipoker also seems to be fair.
I personaly would say to take Stars. 5% rake level is the first hurdle to overcome. You will also get some "rakeback" with player rewards so that makes the gap a little closer to Full Tilt.
As to the story of the regs, I do not think on the $5 and $10 level you will find all that many. As you say, traffic is insane, you will not bump into regs all that often. They are hard to avoid also though. Because tables fill so fast, you hardly have time to look at the player that is allready sitting. By the time you have, they are allready on their way again.
My choice would be Stars.

As long as you sit first you actually cut back on the amount of regs youll play.
Generally I prefer FT as I get RB easier, I know there are bonuses at Stars but generally with a lack of volume it becomes harder for me to gain them

I always thought that was generally the rule. The few regs I have played at Ongame just sat me anyway lol.
Isnt there a danger that when you are starting out the regs might sit you cos your sharkscope isnt great - or am I just being way too paranoid here?

$5 level, regs, really? lol
I wouldn't worry about being hunted by regs at the $5 level. The games just fill up so fast that you don't need to worry about it.
99% of opponents will be bad so playing that low as well as studying will help you develop a good graph and build a roll.

you won't find too many regs below 10s to be honest and by regs i mean consistent winners with solid roi and graph. I used to sharkscope up to the 10s then 10s and after i just sit first. Don't worry too much about regs as u get better you won't mind them sitting you and that beginner fear will start to go away, you rarely get sat by them anyway unless your quite bad. Get a SS account and bum hunt at the lower levels, as you advance you will no longer need too and you will find less fish sitting, also it will help you build a solid graph get you used to playing the different bad player types. Hope this helps!

Why play on Betfair, when you can play on tons of other skins on Ongame with far more generous ''reward programs''? That's just dumb.
And yes, the rake is criminal, but the available ''VIP programs'' negate most of that.
Ipoker is the only other serious option, Microgaming has terrible rake and an even worse structure, Party almost same story.
Software at Ipoker is ok, and its the 3th largest network. Also, normal rake and very good ''valueback''.

Wow, so many of you play on Stars? I'm still on FTP, played all my cash at Stars and then was at FTP for the deep HUSNGs, but now that I'm back at the normal speeds and stacks maybe I should consider Stars again.

if playing reg speeds your ROI will be abit higher on stars

Roi, yes. Hourly, I do not know.
And why consider Stars only because some others play there?
I enjoy my 60% flat rb quite a bit, without having to rake 200k+ first.

Well, to be frank I kind of prefer Stars software and support.
Also, I don't have RB on FTP unfortunately, I made my acc there before I played too much and wasn't aware of RB.
I think there's a site owned by FTP that can give existing players RB though? I'll have to look into it if I decide to stay at FTP when I move up.
Also, what do you mean my ROI will be higher for reg speeds on Stars? A bit softer?

I thought all the Ongame skins had the same reward programs since Betfair, Bwin etc joined late last year?
FWIW I moved to FullTilt last night. Eventually the deciding factors were the far better blind structures, and the excellent hand history review console, which if Im gonna be serious about reviewing my matches, makes sense compared to the tools Ongame gives you to review hand histories.

Bwin didn't join, they basically own the network.
Betfair did, and if you had rb there, it should be grandfathered in on Ongame.
Not that that is relevant, as there are far better deals out there.

Tyty I'm fairly sure I didn't sign up with any affiliate, so hopefully all things will go well for me in that regard!
