ScoottNM Bankroll Building BonanzaHey everyone,
I guess this will serve as my introduction post, and my bankroll building goals post. I've been playing online for awhile, but took a break; mostly just busy with my job. Like a lot of people, I'm sure, I've enjoyed Robusto...only to meet Busto soon afterwards.
So I've logged in to my Full Tilt account and found 22.20 and decided to see what I can do with it. I'm posting this for a few reasons:
1. I'm not the type who turns down advice/feedback/tips, so I'm hoping this community provides plenty.
2. Accountability - I think the obligation to report back will help me.
3. I think having a plan in writing will help me stay focused on my BRM.
So, on to my plan(Based largely on BetMagic's plan and format):
Goals

[ ]BR $300
[ ]BR $500

$2 $150
$5 $90 $350
$10 $250 $1000
$20 $700 $1500
$30 $1200 $2500
$50 $2100 $5000
$100 $3500
Additionally, I want to make sure I watch at least a couple videos a week and read these forums when possible. I just did a reset on sharkscope (after being way up at one time...the $2 graph just kind of flatlines anyway), so feel free to follow (Scooternm on FTP).
Aside from that, nice meeting everyone, look forward to talking to you.

GL but, although its a long way away, I don't think 25 bi's for the hundos is enough.

Great, thanks you were right. My numbers have been corrected.
Does this seem about right? I should have mentioned my goal for doing this is not necessarily to make loads of money (although I wouldn't complain), but it's more about knowing I can do it. So, I've tried to set up what might be considered a conservative approach and may take longer than some to move up. I'm really just interested in getting that graph moving in the right direction!

Yeah for the 100s i'd say that you'd need at least 50, there was a table somewhere on the site, it was sorta like a tree and that had good guidelines.
As for a conservative approach, it is definitely a good way to go for the higher limits. However, for anything lower than the 30s I would say that you can definitely shot take more and try and push through the stakes quickly.

Cool. Yeah I found a staircase looking graphic in Blazing_Saddler's 1,000th post that is helpful.
I agree that is should be easier to take shots more aggressively at lower stakes. In honesty, I'm even worried about the 2's and 5's because of all the call stations (calling great bluffs with a low pair, etc.), but I've already read some great posts in here!

Don't worry about the call stations, it's quite simple, don't bluff them ! Just value bet them thinly, and always realise, when they raise you, they have a hand, so you need to have a better one to continue!
The stairway is good, but I do feel when you get to the $50s and beyond, 30 buy ins , is a little thin, and I'd go for 50. But yeah, one step at a time, you can adjust that at any time.
The main thing is , you have put some time in, to making a solid plan. Stick to it, work hard, and you will be flying up that ladder before you know it.
Good luck.

Well, it's been a few days so I figured I would post an update. I've had so good grind sessions and have played 136 games (turbo).
It was the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:
The Good
Learning! I've watched three of the videos on here in a constructive manner, i.e. pause, take notes, try to incorporate note into game... Plus there's a ton of great information in the forums, too bad I just decided to join.
I hope to actually get a coach soon enough...
My BR started at 22.20, not enough for the $2 tables, but I played them anyway. I ended up being down to my last buy-in and was able to go on a run. My current BR is 65.05, which brings me to...
The Bad
I played 5 $2 matches against someone that wanted to make donations for my BR journey. He wanted to move to the $6 table so I did and beat him there. I ended up playing 9 more $6 matches and won 8 of them (9/10 total). I'm happy that those games went well, and thinking back; I won them because I played well. So, I'm confused why the $2 tables are killing me...or at least having me breakeven. In any event, it's nice to have some extra BR.
The Ugly
Being down to one buy-in wasn't cool, so that was the ugly of the last few days. Not that I can't devote some extra funds to the BR, but that would make my first attempt a failure, so happy I was able to dig out.
Anyway, thanks for everyone's help so far. Here is the graph:

Well, one week down...
All in all, I'd say it was a decent week. I've learned a lot, which will only help moving forward. My 22.20 BR has grown to 115.35, but I was at around 170. Sunday morning, or afternoon in the UK, I just had a horrible downslide. I took a break, looked at some hands, and it looks like I'm on the right track. I was off of work so I had some good volume, I'm guessing that will decrease some...
I think I'll cautiously stay at the 6 dollar turbos, but be prepared to move down, if need be.
All in all...I'm happy with the beginning of my journey.
