reverse implied odds

can someone sum this up simply for me or point me to an article?

The article is pretty accurate.

It's almost impossible to come up with exact figures in a vacuum for the exact implied odds/reverse implied odds of a hand- but basically when you make a hand that is 2nd/3rd best, and the next best hand is much worse, you need to take this into account.

e.g.- if you have 109 on 10JQr- if a K rolls off you are very likely to have the best hand. however, the problem is there is almost no value in making the hand, as no worse hands can call any bets- and you stand to lose some more chips from the nut straight- the amount you are expected to lose from the nut straight in this case is used to work out the reverse implied odds (when you make the call on the flop).

The figure is of course theoretical (you have to call with certain % not to be exploited by 100% bluffs with your 2nd best hand- so are bound to lose some value)- but basically you just need to know and understand the concept.
