Rakeback vs. $ 100.00 free cash

Just a quick tip for new players, before you decide to get free cash for a starting bank roll. Please try and do the math on the rake back.
Most players would be suprised at even micro tables how much rake is being lost. Rake back combined with sign-up bonuses are great ways of maintaining a decent bankroll while even learning to play. I used $ 50,00 initial deposit on Full Tilt, between just the bonus and rake back I could easily play for 5 months without having to reload, even on 2nl I was taking in more than $10 a week in just rakeback. ( Using for the most part the training video's here ). Btw I signed up for Rakeback here at TAG and its great! Most poker sites pay rakeback directly to your account, some of them daily, others weekly.
So before you commit one way or another how you want to build your roll, take your time, do the math. Problem is if you sign up one way, its almost impossible to switch to the other.....
Good Luck

Darn.

so, all the sites that I play on I  am no longer able to apply for the rakeback?  Is this correct?

If you are already a member of a site like Full Tilt for example then it is against their terms and conditions to multi account.

Although many peoples 'girlfriends' do open acounts too, if you are sticking to the websites terms and conditions then you will have to play on a different site in order to get rakeback.

You can try to get rakeback by asking the support. It worked out for some people from what I've heard.

I was able to get rakeback on my existing FT account by emailing support and requesting it. They forwarded my request to rakebackpros.com as that is their "preferred" affiliate.

As for the girlfriend theory...tread carefully as my wife's account is currently locked up and I have yet to hear back from Full Tilt regarding the problem.

Take care.

allright, thanks for the info!

Im stilll trying to get support at FT to do the rakeback for me.... they seem to be ignoring me.... I have sent in another request.

Be patient. I've noticed lately that support at FT is taking a long time to respond. For my latest issue it took them over a week to get back to me.

Didn't used to be this way...

As a whole, it probably took me the better part of a month to get the whole rakeback issue finished. From what I'd read on other forums, that was quicker than I expected. They'll likely forward you to their "preferred" affiliate who will also take a long time to respond. Then it's just a waiting game until they say "OK".

Wish I could tell you it was a quick fix, but expect to jump through some hoops.

ok, I recieved a reply:

Hello Gordon, Thanks for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support. You?ve asked about the possibility of receiving rakeback but at this time, Full Tilt Poker does not offer rakeback directly to players.  There are a number of affiliate companies which offer rakeback if players sign up to Full Tilt Poker through their website. However, it appears that you were referred to Full Tilt Poker from an affiliate which does not offer rakeback. We are unable to switch your account from this affiliate to another, as our agreement with affiliates prohibits this.  We understand that you are interested in such promotions in the future and if the situation changes, our players will be the first to know and we will contact you when we have more news.  Regards, TomotakaFull Tilt Poker Support

Ok, so, I remember listening somewhere how rakeback was important on building a bankroll. Is it still worth staying with FT? Or, just keep on plugging away as I watch my rake dissapear completely? Or, is there a way to break my affiliate?

forced a while ago i had the same issue like you there and i got the exact same email. And as i understand is that we cant get rakeback on our FT accounts. because we were registered from a different affliate that doesn't support rakeback. Sorry man

You might want to play on PS as there is more value for you in doing so than playing on FTP without rakeback.

ok then, thanks for the input, and thanks for the pm... currently going that route.

to be honest even without rakeback ill stick with FTP as i like the software and the academy is awesome plus i like looking at high stakes games. and theres a bunch of fish which im sure its not that different than PS  But overall i like FT more when i dont have to talk with their support. and as long as my Br is moving up since im half decent at crushing the 2$ sng hu i love it. Im also tracking it via PokerTracker which actually says i earn more than i lose in rakeback. as long as i keep my hands off cash games. Smile

My understanding is that you will not be eligible for rakeback since apparently you originally signed up through an affiliate. I was fortunate enough to be able to avoid this complication as I signed up with Full Tilt many years ago directly through their website.

There's always the "girlfriend" option.

If you play 100 matches you can make over $4 in rakeback at the $2's. If you play the $20's...100 matches equates to $27. If you play 100 matches a week (considered moderate volume for a serious player) that's $1404 per year!!! Imagine if you moved up in stakes within that year...

So, yes, rakeback is important. There are many sites that offer excellent rakeback promotions that you can take advantage of through tagpoker. I have an account with Cake Poker that I opened through tagpoker that pays 33% in rakeback. The site and software are not my favorite, but 33% is freakin' sweet. Also, Pokerstars has some kind of bonus structure they award to high volume players (Supernova Elite...or something???), but I'm not sure exactly how it works. It does generally have some kind of equivalence to rakeback programs per the cognoscenti.

Best of luck!
