PokerStars server reset !!!Do they do this every wednesday, or do they have a page that gives you a bit of notice when it is going to happen ???Made the effort to get up at 6 am, do my lunch, drive 7 miles to my mates house,where I am playing during the day, only to find there is a server reset in 2 and a half hours, but they have stopped the HUSNG games completley already. Brilliant

They do it quite frequently, it's happened several times when I've been on. Definitely isn't an uncommon occurence. Hopefully it won't take too long to come back online so we can win some more $$$  ! How are you going towards clearing your bonus  ?

As first weeks go it's pretty rubbish so far. Great first day, but I didn't get as many games in as I'd hoped, due to long wait times for games. Yesterday was pretty shocking, and I am quite disgusted with myself for some of my play towards the end of yesterday. Played 2 this morning, lost them both, but felt I played much much better, so no worries there. Then Pokerstars is off for what is likely to be 4 hours. So the day is ruined now. FML Still there's always tomorrow I guess. Got some time to spend studying now. |

Yeah, but relax - poker isn't all about playing. Just consider it like this: Suppose you usually play 8 games in an hour including waiting time. Then at a 10% ROI (I don't know your exact ROI but 10% is a good winrate for the $30s I presume), you'd be making $24/hour. Suppose that by studying for these four hours instead of playing, you increase your ROI by 0.5%. The money lost by not playing would be ~$96. But, after the study, you'll be making an extra $1.20/hour. So in 80 hours of playing you will have earnt back all the money you got lost by PokerStars' shutdown, and not only that; you'll keep making that extra rate on top of your hourly in all the time after that too. So think of this time as an investment. Be grateful that PokerStars have encouraged you to spend the time studying hard, since in the long run, you're going to make more because of it .
There are at least two sides to every story - try to view things in as positive way as possible and you'll do well: not just in poker, but in life in general . Less annoyance = less frustration = less tilt = more profit.

Yeah, It's just all the hassle I went to , to get out the house this morning, get to destination to play poker, and boom! Plus I am playing football manager right now, which is -EV

Hahaha, I bought FM2010 and downloaded an add-on that has down to like tier 13; it's so much fun bringing ridiculous teams up to beating United, Arsenal and such lol... Mmm, getting up at 6am is kind of shitty. I think the statement "If Simba is up at 6am, then Simba hasn't slept yet" is a whole ton more accurate than "If Simba is up at 6am, he recently woke up" . My job is going to be horrendous haha, getting up for a 9am start, such horror... I struggle to drag myself to 12pm lectures, heheh ...

I get up at 4:30am every morning to do my grinding before work, it's literally the only time the house is quite & free from distractions. |

I used to play all night, and try and sleep a few hours in the day. Was trying to make life a bit better for myself and the family. Not working out to well at the moment though. Early days mind. |
