OMG_UR_SICK Bankroll threadthought i'd make one of these, i've never actually bothered with the whole making goals thing, maybe it might be the thing i need to reach the higher levels?
-Im going to start with a solid bankroll of 330 to be precise. So when i get 50 BI for the next level i will give it a shot.
-If i drop below 30 BI i will drop down a level
-Trying to play 7 or more a day, i struggle with meeting this particular goal, so hopefully it can get on track.
A question for everybody....If on a particular day you lose 5 or 6 BI, should i drop down a level and play the rest of the day and try and regain some momentum? or, just stop for the day?? After 5 BI you won't necessarily be tilted and so that's my reasoning.
So ill post my sharkscope graph every week, and go from their.

good br managment and to answer your question about losing 5 in a row. if u feel good about your game and are not on tilt finish out the day. u cant always run scared back down to a lower stake. i mean u go on a 10-15 game down swing i stop to analyze my game as i have to be making some sort of mistake. once u fill that leak u rebuild at the lower stakes and move back up and vow to never drop down a level again. i look forward to you pots gl

so it's the end of the week. Had an up and down few days, but in the end i just about came out on top. I think for me personally, i try and just think about the monthly outcome. This use to be a big problem, and to a small extent still is. I would concentrate on trying to profit daily. Slowly but surely though, the monthly mentality is growing on me.

I really like this idea for bankroll management that I saw posted here.

Always good to see a man with a plan!
With regards to losing 5 games in a row I'd say it's more important how you lost those 5?
If you got it in with the best hand all the time and knew where you were at then as long as you're not steaming angry, carry on.
If they all turn out to be the worst hand then it may be an idea to pause and go back through the games in a hand history replayer, maybe do it with someone on here and try and see what you could of done differently.
Most of the time it'll be a bit of both (best hands and worst) but it's never bad to take a break and re cap your matches with a level head.
Good luck.

While I know this is generally good advice, I can't follow it. I don't yet have the mental capacity to take 5 beats & not have it affect my game.

You are not alone, and the higher you go, the harder it hurts. It's a massive thing, that the human brain isn't made to cope with to be honest. The good feeling of winning, isn't as strong as the bad feeling you get from seeing your line go down like a jump off a cliff.
To be a long term winner (play for a living) you have to come to terms with this. For example if you are playing $100 HUSNG. And one day you make $1200 , then the next day you drop 6 buyins, well you have made $600 , it doesn't feel that way, but that's how it is, and somehow you/me everyone who wants to play poker long term, has to train there brain to deal with this kind of thing.
You only remember what is happening right here right now. Bit like a football match, before the game, you would be happy with a draw against the team you are playing. your team is losing with 1 minute of injury time left, and they score, it feels like you have won the match, and you go home really happy,
But if your team was winning with a minute of injury time left, and the opposition equalise, then all of a sudden it's the end of the world, it feels like you have lost. All of a sudden the draw that would have been a good result just isn't good enough. Both scenarios have the same out come, but the human brain works in weird ways.
My tip is this. Do not look at your Cashier window or your Holdem Manager for a week. Just play your A game every game. Your not thinking about money, you are just concentrating on getting every decision right. I am certain when you check your graph at the end of the week, you will have a nice surprise.
Takes some doing, but force yourself, it can be done.

Thought i was due for another update. I guess i have gone away from the more traditional bankroll building methods used by other people on here. The reason being is that, whilst i played about 30 or so $5 dollar games, i finally got my hands on some funds that i had been waiting on for a while. So as my bankroll suggested, 50 BI and i move up, i've moved up to the $10's. Suprisingly i wasn't at all concerned with the money on the table, considering i was when i first moved up to the $5's. I think it was best for me to move up to the $10's as soon as i could and just grind my life away for a while. So anyways, this is my HEM graph.
as you can see i went on a super sick run, but i also made sure that i played as best as i could so that i didn't get complacent and then turn this run into a ski slope.
One final thing i will add is, i have absolutely no idea how super passive tight people can profit in the game. The last game i played, this guy had a $491 dollar profit after 500 or more games. The weird thing is that he monkey spewed his chips off to me on the river after i checked my set on the turn and had him drawing dead. Ah well, bring more of them in.
