this also do you need a laptop or would a desktop be better?

right now only two tables, maybe three in the future
I prefer a laptop, i wanna be able to travel around.

To be fair mate if all you want to use it for is poker, web browsing and office the specs of the thing don't matter as all laptops nowadays are way over powered for that sort of thing, just buy one that looks nice Smile You'd easily get away with spending half that amount too for what it's worth. Acer Aspire 5551 would do the job. If you're set on spending some money the ASUS N53S is a great laptop

One of the ones i'm looking at and it's on sale this week, thoughts?

Looks fine to me, will do way more than what you want.
Ignore what I said about prices, for some reason I was working in £ not $

This looks better for that price (and it's not even on sale):

It has a pentium dual core P6200: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.p...u=Intel+Pentium+P6200+%40+2.13GHz

instead of the AMD Turion II: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Turion+II+P540+Dual-Core

Notice the higher score of the pentium?

Also, it has a better grapics card, the radeon 530v: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Mobility+Radeon+HD+530v

instead of the 4250: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Mobility+Radeon+HD+4250

Again, a better score. It does have a smaller hard drive though, but just for poker and office and the like I think 320GB is still more than enough. Plus the hard drive runs at 7200 rpm instead of 5400 rpm anyway, so even though it's smaller it is faster. Also, it has in-built speakers, integrated bluetooth and better battery life.

Wow... sony vaio's seem really overpriced.

Edit: I just noticed it says sold out... Sad
