My First Bankroll Thread

Right, this could go either way, but I'd like somewhere to report my progress, mainly so I can easily keep up with it myself, keeping a spreadsheet at the same time, but will be fun for me to write about how things have been going as well.

This my first proper attempt at building a bankroll, I'm starting with $100 on stars and working my way up. I won't move up until I have 30bb's and will start out on the $3.50 sng's.
If I drop below $70 I will drop down to $1.50.
I will move up to $7 when I have $210

I'll leave it there for now.

I'm going to set some goals for myself:
To play at the very least 10 games per day.
If one day, I am unable to play 10 games (most likely with other commitments) I will ensure that I am making up for those and playing at least 300 games per month in total.

A goal to make progress in $3.50's, improve leaks in my game and build on my knowledge of the heads up game.

For this purpose, as long as university commitment's aren't getting in the way I will set a goal to study heads up, be it videos, articles, forum posts, or books, for at least half an hour a day. Totalling 3.5 hours per week. Perhaps more on weeks where university work load is light.

My sharkscope graph is going to be slightly off as I've been playing for the past week or so but we'll start fresh here with the initial $100.

I shalln't be getting to involved in this just yet as I want to spend more time studying the material I have at the moment but I wanted this thread here ready Smile

Would defo take up this offer OP. Chess is a very good player and could teach a beginner a tonne.

Just a little update, I wasn't happy with the $100 bankroll, I played a few $3.50's a bit before I should have and knocked off some of the bankroll. Revised a little more, worked a little harder and I was beating $1.50's again. I've had another crack at $3.50's and they've been going pretty well but don't feel overly comfortable playing them with the lower bankroll so I've deposited a little extra so that I can feel more comfortable playing them, rather than playing the $1.50's which I find really dull/unrewarding. So I'm sitting on a bankroll of $153 and my total deposits lie around $191 (One benefit of this is that I've now got an even bigger bonus rolling in as I play). So I'm down $37 but grinding away at the $3.50 and I shall be altering when I will be moving up to $7.

So that I feel more comfortable playing them I'll give myself a requirement of $245 (35BB) as I find that how comfortable I feel at a level makes a big difference.

Wasn't going to mention this whole thing, but wanted my first bankroll thread to be an honest one.

Pretty good day today, up a decent amount.

Now only in the negative $17.64 from the $37 I was down. So made $20.

Hopefully I'll keep that up, graph is starting to have a positive trend to it which I like looking at haha Smile

Another decent day considering I've spent the day battling a hangover and haven't played too many games.

Now down 0.5c only. So made about $17 today.

Looking into it further it seems I may have received a $10 bonus which is why I've made that much on a day I haven't got much volume in hah.
BetMagicMoney

don't play with a hangover imo Smile looks good buddy keep going Smile

Terrible day today, can feel myself tilting as well so I'm calling it quits for the night. Back down to negative $22 from the $0.5 I was.

Find myself spewing chips to loose aggressive / passive (mixture) opponents, so I'm going to make sure I spend some of tomorrow studying up on that a bit.
DentyT

Made $18.9 today, going to read up some more on tight aggressive opponents and work on my game against them as I played 2 winning players today and found it difficult against both, sucked out on one, the other I lost against so definitely going to be looking into that part of my play.

The winning user was also nice enough to end the game with a message saying "die dirty brit" which I thought was a little immature for someone that is beating the game pretty well considering sharkscope shows him up over $2k.

Only actually got 4 games in today but 3 of them were 4-mans, so I won 3/4 games. Going to try and work on my volume when I can but coursework is taking a massive priority at the moment.
DentyT

Pretty poor week last week for volume, had so much coursework I just didn't have time and when I did play I wasn't focused and broke even / lost a little. My bankroll stood at around $171 at the end of the week. Yesterday I managed to get a good bit of volume in and had a cracking day, up $50, so my bankroll now stands at $221.

Not far to go now till I move up to the $7's hopefully I'll continue to play well, although I expect pretty low volume again towards the end of this week.

Thing's feel like they're clicking into place a little better now, I am much better at identifying opponents and their weaknesses but I do still find myself spewing a few chips here and there due to silly decisions that even at the time I know are wrong. Going to make sure I'm more focused in this aspect and ensure that I play correctly and trust my instincts a little more.
DentyT

Another good day today, was up to 240 but just lost a couple, overall up about 14 dollars for the day, not all that much volume today but happy with the way ive been playing. Not far off moving up to 7's. When I do I'll be setting myself a drop down limit which will be $200, which will give me about 6 straight buyins at $7. Hopefully break into it nicely Smile
DentyT

After a poor start to the day, mainly due to tiredness and real world influences putting me in a bad mood dropped down to about 227 dollars. Stopped, had a nap, sorted out my mood, did a bit of reading up and hit the tables later on. Won 6 games straight to bring my br up to 245.

This means i'm hitting the $7's waheyy! Played one and won so far, hopefully I'll continue to play well and I feel its good that I've noticed early on how much my mood with other issues can affect my play. Will be doing my best to avoid that mistake in the future.

Grats!!! Keep going!
GL!

Keep going mate, remember that a clear head and a want to play will yeld better results than playing when you're not in the mood.
