Focus on playing each game as well as you can. When you focus on playing your best game the money will role in. If you focus on the money you may easily be tilted when you have a losing patch and that money roles back out. Easier said than done I know. Similar concept to losing weight. If you focus on losing weight by checking the scales EVERY MORNING then your always hooked to what you weigh each day. When you focus on eating well and exercising often and you check the scales once a week or once a month you find quite a pleasant surprise and the weight falls off. MAKE EVERY GAME COUNT BY PLAYING YOUR BEST ON EACH AND EVERY GAME ONE BY ONE!Even at $1 level!!!! In answer to your question if your winning 6 or more games out of 10 then your doing well. Most people struggle to get a positive ROI in the poker world. A good ROI is 10% BUT BUT BUT let nothing stop you smashing that figure in the future. Apply more focus to quality of each game and then look at your ROI after a week on sharkscope. Be careful of constantly checking how well your doing every day. Its a dangerous path! Think not about the results, but whether you are making the correct calls/getting in your money the majority of the time. Ares Hero It depends on what you are comfortable with.  I would not try and move to the $5's without at least 20 buy-ins.  Maybe when you hit $110 go for it and give yourself a 2-buyin shot (ie play till you are back at $100, so if you go up two $5 games right away you now have 4 buy-ins before you need to move back down).  Any more than that is tough on your BR imo just because it is so hard to grind back $20 at the $2 games if you give yourself a 4-buyin shot or something.  Also don't get discouraged if you can't move up right away, the games play the same but with variance it can take a few tries.  I think it took 3 for me to get comfortably into them. hjbear cheers aces my br is now 101 and i have played 74 games with a win rate of 70.28% i think im going to grind upto 120 then take a shot just so i have 4 bis incase i run bad [/img] MrJayOMG Nice winrate sir P.S. You need to see your progress so that you can see how well your doing. Getting the first one up if your unsure is the hardest one to do. But it does get easier. I've been smashed four times bear and have contemplated quitting much much more than you think and have gone through some pretty rough patches. Its not easy playing 600 games over two months and seeing you havent made a dime. I'm still very very worried that I just ran good again and I fluked my last streak. When you have a graph you will know exactly where you are. You need to post your graphs from the day you started HUSNG's to today. This history will enable you to look at how far you've come what you need to do to adjust and when you finally make it you will feel amazing and be able to look back at that graph and say to yourself you did it! GL bro! hjbear update. on monday i decided to see how many games i play a week roughly and as of now i have played 83 $5 on pokerstars with a winrate of 61.45 my bankroll has just climbed back over the $200 mark, going to make it upto $250 then move to the $10s but if i go below $200 ill drop back hjbear im playing the 10s now kantor1003 Nice! Was the transition scary? Have you got used to it yet? The scariest leap for me was from the 10s to the 20s actually. 20 to 30 wasn't nearly as frightening.. same for 30 to 50 even though that was a tad worse. icemanv6 I found for some reason the transition from the smaller stake game's the hardest, no idea why. Take my advice and don't skip the 10s if you can't handle a 40 game run bad period moving to the 10s then you will only lose your money quicker moving up higher. One of the main reasons for going up the stakes is so that you get experience of handling these swings and periods its an essential part of the learning curve, i hope you take my advice. The $20s will be the same as the $10s, just slightly harder, and losing double the money. It's your money, if you were just taking a small shot at the $10s and failed, that's fine, go back to the $5s with the intention of grinding back up to the $10s. You have to ask the question though, if you can't take losing 4 buyins in 40 games, if poker is really for you at all. hjbear cheers 44 the advice u guys are right i wont skip the tens ill grind up a bigger roll for a better shot instead, i was just raging this morning come against 4 suck outs made me go a bit crazy z1s6arn Ive seen your having a tough time at the moment. To get your confidence back with some wins shark scope every player before you sit them. The more negative the ROI the better. Avoid any slight winning player or better like the plague until your graph is back on track. I will send you my SS password and login. Shaun p.s If your panicking and poker stars has a self exclusion option take it for two days and have a mini holiday (no poker, no forums!). The self exclusion will avoid that annoying internal fight whether or not to play because you know the account is disabled. Every night when I have finished my session I always get that feeling of wanting to play a little more and every night while I still have some form of self control I exclude myself for 12hrs before my inner donkey takes over. If you are worrying and still trying to fight back even if its a tiny bit its going to affect your game dramatically. I first thought tilt was rage and anger but it can affect you in ways that are virtually undetectible if you dont know what to look for. 24 hrs might not be enough time to reset and allow the emotions to drain. You achieved alot in two weeks and it shows you know what your doing. Its soo easy to lose money when your off your game than it is to win money when your playing your best. I find that rule so frustrating. Sort of like money in the bank... takes a lifetime to earn and a weekend to blow. These little lessons are great to learn now than to pay the price later at the higher stakes....... I want you to do well and I want you to succeed. Think about having a break, chill out watch some porno have a cuppa tea tell your mum you love her, get leathered smash a bird and make your daddy proud and come back fresh and ready to smash the tables instead like we know you eventually will at the $10s! The number of winning players you will come across in a week, you can count on one hand.
