Moving to U.K. - Need HelpLooking at moving to the U.K. within a week or two if all goes well. Looking to get into some form of poker house if possible. Want to pay $400-$800 USD for rent, obviously the less the better. Coming to play poker for 3-24 months and really am open to any city and most living situations. I'm kinda nervous about his move and would love to chat with someone in the U.K. on Skype if possible. Willing to pay future Pokerstars dollars for someone's time (value of Pokerstars dollars TBD lol).
I've read Pokerstars terms of service for U.S. players relocating and I basically just need to prove I live there. I may run into an issue with not having a foreign bank account and I want to talk with a U.K. resident about that.
Looking to play MTT's full time and talk strategy, learn from other players and hopefully help other players with their MTT game.
If anyone knows of available housing, wants to setup a house or wants to chat on Skype and help me with a few questions it would be super appreciated.
EDIT: Have good work experience in sales and hospitality and tourism industries. Open to getting job as waiter or something to help with bills. Open to doing English teaching part time as well. Anyone who can assist with these two jobs or let me know the best VISA to apply for based on what I said would be huge.

Is this something you have been thinking about for a while or a knee jerk to Black Friday?
I know when my step-mum moved from Canada to the UK, she wasnt allowed to work initially (tax accountant), no idea what Visa she was on though.

I am not an expert but I would be surprised if you can come & live in the UK for more than 6 months if you are not an EU citizen.

JamEaze - It's something I've been thinking about for a couple years, prior to me even really playing poker. I just was content/lazy and think this is a very good opportunity to take. The U.S. govt decision, though I strongly disagree with how they went about it, really just serves as a kick in the pants and may be a blessing.
I believe that I can stay as a visitor for 6 months or look into getting a student visa. I was just naming jobs as backups. The plan is 100% to play poker and I understand it's not considered a job so I can do it. Is this right?
Sausage - That's a solid concern I have. Any help would be appreciated.
Chris - I have passport and believe I can figure out a bank account easy enough with a little street smarts. I've added you on Skype. Definitely want to chat because my roommate just went to Copenhagen and is telling me 100% to go there.

You could stay/lodge here if we had a spare room; but as it is unfortunately we only have a 2 bedroom house. I'd love having a fellow poker player about to constantly chat strategy with

Pretty sure that poker falls under the category of "professional gambler" and is, thus, a proper job title.

So after doing some research it looks like I don't need a Visa to come there for 6 months as long as I don't intend to work. Visa's for U.S. citizens are granted at entry into the U.K. Also, sounds like the bank account won't be too much of an issue.
Starting to get comfortable with moving to Manchester. Thoughts anyone?
Also, if I want to take weekend trips to Amsterdam, Berlin, etc. Will I need any documents that I need to get while I'm still in the states?

Siminitt,
Again thanks for your help with something man. I'm interested and am going to do some research on the city now. I'm looking at a place in Manchester and am fairly far along in the conversations and want to make sure I don't bail on anyone unappropriately if I choose to go another direction. Let me see how it all shakes out regarding timing, etc. That said, yes, I'm very interested and want to hear more about the house if possible. I will get with you on Skype ASAP.
Thanks again,
James
