Mindset problems, not sure where to put this...I've always had this problem with HU SNGs. I have no idea why, since this is pretty much the only form of poker where I have this problem.
When I've won some HUSNGs, I don't want to play them any more. I don't want to break my "winning streak".
It's not about the money, I'm playing $10s now and I had no problem shoving in $100 stacks at NL100 FR. And I have no problem starting like 12 $26 MTTs and just shrug my shoulders if I bust in all 12 (except if I played bad...). But HU SNGs? No way I just don't want to lose in those...
So ehm...how the heck do I fix this? I try to force myself to play more despite being comfortable with my 3 straight wins for the day but it's not exactly fun. I also feel like I play much better except when I'm trying to go for "a goal". I've set my goals very low this month (only enough to maintain the lowest level on FTP) but even that is becoming too much and it's not like I'm too busy.
When I lose I have no problem by the way. The best motivation for me is when I'm 10 BI down for the day... I can grind 50 HU SNGs nonstop if I need to to get back to BE or profit. I don't lose that much anymore thanks to Broker's coaching though, so this hasn't worked that well for the last few weeks.
I know it sounds like I'm being whiny but I just find it so peculiar how I only have this with HU SNGs. I don't have it with MTTs, FR cash, 9 man SNGs, etc. Any Idea? Suggestion? It's just really pissing me off because I honestly want to grind atleast 25 of these things every day.

Haha got the same! I only do care about the money though.
For example, yesterday I was two-tabling and managed to win 12 consecutive matches. With this upswing I hit $70 and then stopped playing for that day, because I sort of knew I would be losing some next matches. I know it's bullshit, because why wouldn't you continue when running good? Well for me it just feels like: I just ran well, hit $70, so if I stop then it would be a good poker day. If I would continue playing and maybe lose a few matches (which is perfectly normal) it would feel like an average/bad day.
Really strange lol.

It's a strange thing, and I think that everyone goes through this at some stage in their poker "career". When I was grinding a ton of HUSNG's I played sooo much when I was running bad but if running good, id play like 15 games, win 12 of them, and stop. Where as if I say, lost my first 5 games, I would play until I was out of the hole for the day or I knew that I wasn't playing my A-game.
So, there is no "quick fix" to this. Maybe set yourself volume goals? I have found that setting profit goals only makes things worse. Volume goals is what every1 should be setting/working towards achieving.

Well atleast it's a positive that it's not my screwed up brain, but rather normal...
Today was a great example. 3 straight wins...
I had to kick myself to keep playing, at 7 games I had 7 straight wins. I lost 1 match and the last 2 matches were played pretty much instantly afterwards. My goal was 10 games, and I played 11 because I lost my 10th match vs some really bad fish (yea I gave it away >_<). He immediately accepted a rematch and I totally crushed him. He was happy to keep replaying me but I quickly clicked away the window as to not get tempted by the +EV situation staring me in the face.
Now I've just been staring at HEM for the last hour because 56% ROI over 11 games looks so pretty...

That pretty much sums it up for me aswell. I don't want my "great" day to feel like an "average" day. There's also a big load off my shoulders if my goal is 10 games and I win my first 6. Can't get less then 60% winrate even if I lose all 4.

To be honest, this has to be the BIGGEST leak I have ever heard of. I am actually tilted after reading this.

I had the same problems until very recently, but now I've kinda changed it to a point where If I'm losing I quit early and if I'm winning I try to play longer - which is kinda the optimum thing to do.
At first I was all about booking the win and watching pretty numbers in trackers, but I think its really detrimental to your primary objective (eg: make good decisions) so even looking at your cashier should be discouraged.
And that replay thing, wow just play him all day every day if you can

Remember that I play $10s. Nearly everyone is easy to beat. If I played the $100s+ I'd probably never even think about quitting vs a fish.

Buy-in level doesn't matter, if you have a fish willing to rematch you, take every game you can regardless of results. The more games u play, the more information you have. You are the better player, so you are able to exploit them a whole lot better than they can u. Taking every +EV spot will net you more $$$, which is you ultimate goal. So stop worrying about pretty numbers in tracker, because playing less games and "booking a win" is not going to help them. Playing TONS of games and seeing a nice, "linear" looking graph is by far the optimal way to go about it. Whats better, seeing 3 games with 100% ROI (lol) or seeing 1000 games with a 12% ROI? Believe me, the 12% over 1k games graph looks a whole lot sexier.
