LOL @ Betonline.com Customer Service!I signed up at betonline.com under brokerstar's link, and as I've expressed in another thread, the software is beyond horrible.
One major problem is that you are unable to enter a decimal point (".") in the bet amount box. You can imagine that this could possibly make life in microstakes very difficult. You are able to use a bet slider, but it is VERY slow and you cannot move it to precise amounts, which is especially bothersome preflop when the SB calls and if you want to raise, it's either 2x or 4x. You cannot get 3x in that situation.
Anyway, I put three customer support tickets to tech support. Each time they told that it works for them on their test account. However, chatting with others at various tables, I discovered that it works for NOBODY.
Here is another ridiculous conversation with a customer support rep I just had:

John: Seriously, log in and chat on a table...ask the players on that table if they are able to enter a decimal amount in the bet box without using the bet slider.

Yeah, that problem only started with the latest software update (I played there before it happened). Such a joke. That whole site is so horrific, if the player pool wasn't so horrendous, there would be absolutely no reason to play there ever.

I'm not too sure myself as I have just sat at a table (micro stakes) and just to test it out I entered a decimal amount of 1.12 and it worked fine???

Hmmm...I spoke with more players today who said that it worked until the last update, at which point it broke.
Is that screenshot from one of your strategy videos? I'll need to try out that move when I get the decimals working.

Just to clarify, I've spoken with customer support over a dozen times, and they are helpful and very accessible.
They just don't really know the workings of the poker room so well sometimes.
They are always very courteous and usually answer my questions well. This is a problem with tech support, not customer service.
All of the others I've chatted with have had excellent English. This guy was fine with me, though.

I couldn't when I was still playing there after the update. Some people can, a lot can't. Must be an operating system issue or something. Which one you use? I'm on Windows 7

imo most likely a keyboard driver problem with how it maps keyboard input!
trying closing all other programs, restarting betonline and then try again

Yes, I noticed when I saw the screenshot that brokerstar had ironically been right next to me. I didn't mention it at the time because I thought maybe I wanted to keep my betonline identity a secret.
I'm a little slow.

This happens every time I play. I've tried literally dozens of times. I usually don't have other programs open when I fire up the tables. I would be interested in hearing more about this, though, if you think it may help.

Yes, I was being a bit sarcastic and self-depreciating. No matter how many times in a row I type the ".", it never appears in the bet amount box. The numbers appear, though, so I can bet $112 if I like.

when you quote it has a ref link to the orignal post so don't worry about it
as to your keyboard, try using both "." keys see if that makes a difference, also programs like firefox sometimes lock certain keys into there program and it can cause problems more usally with PC games but it can happen in other instances. A good work around is to close alll non essential programs double click the desktop a few times (not on an icon obv ) and the click on bet online (aka have the program already running)

Well I play there almost every day and find it about the easiest place on the planet to make money.
So when I find anything that works for me, be it strategy, new ideas or a soft site, then I always share it.
I like the site so much for the action that I even stake players to play there so safe to say I put my money where my mouth is, ha ha.
With regards to your technical issue, if I was you, I'd report it to the site itself as they are a new site and constantly working out their teething issues.

I spent about two hours with Monty trying to resolve this today. He seems to be the most helpful of the customer service reps. Seems to be an in-charge perhaps?
Anyway, we didn't really make any progress.
I deleted all my betonline registry keys (around 30 of them?) and reinstalled the client.
Whenever I click inside the Bet Amount Box, the amount in the box is cleared. Then, when I click the decimal point, the amount displayed on the BET button is reset to $0.01, but a decimal is never entered in the text box.
I have tried numbers in formats such as 1.43, .55, and 0.78, but nothing works.
I have tried both the keypad decimal and the main keyboard decimal.
Monty says he'll try to come up with more ideas, but we've pretty much exhausted the ideas, I think.
Regardless of the problems, the site is definitely worth playing on.

Yet another almost-funny interaction with customer service.
I had been eight-tabling for four straight hours without a break. I noticed a guy on one of my tables without a username. (This broke my HUD, btw)
I logged onto customer support soon after I noticed. The game broke right at that moment.
The customer service agent told me I needed to provide hand #s that the player in question played in.
I opened the hand history window and was confronted with a TON of hands from my session. Whenever I started scrolling through the list, a table I was on would require action, and the HH window reset to the top of the list.
So I had to get off all my tables to search.
I looked and looked and couldn't find evidence of the nameless player. I think the customer service guy thought I was another idiot who didn't know what was going on.
Right as he was signing off, I found a HH that said "UNKNOWN PLAYER folds". I had been looking at the wrong end of the HHs, which was a little strange, as the last hand number noted on the table (I was still sitting...the only one) was on the opposite end of the HH list. But he had just been at the table...
Anyway, I found several more hands that referred to him as UNKNOWN PLAYER. They will do an investigation and get back to me.
