Kurdt: My NL Cash BRBHello,
I open a Thread to motivate myself and hopefully others to play and think about the game. I'll write about success and failure. Post some hands...
Hope to win!
So I've deposited 100 at Mansion.
(Can only play 6 tables at once, cause of an older PC.)
I've played the last 3 days and lost some money on the NL10 - NL25 tables.
At NL4-5 there're often only grinders and tight players and I'm not so focused as on NL10+.
The last days I've opened relatively tight and even then I've got 3-bettet so often or oreraised after the flop. I don't knew really what to do as I mostly fold TP vs any action as I'm a weak player.
Here is the graph of the last 3 days:
Yesterday after I've lost again $35, I've become nitty and folded to any action preflop/postflop without the nuts. So I climbed back a bit.
I've played the $1 daily rebuy every day in the last 3 days:
2 times in the money ( 1 final table)
My bankroll: 122

Are you playing 6-max or full ring?
Are you taking notes on players? When they raise you too often I would put so much garbage in their ranges if it's a dry board. If he's like a maniac you can just call down with a good top pair.

Yesterday I've played another 1300 hands and +~$20
Paid off some guys on NL10 with JJ vs KK and 99 vs AA, but made some money on NL20.
I lose too much money while I wait for the big spots and then often I'm not able to get the most possible out of my opponents. Hope to learn here how to fix this...
At Mansion there are Euro, Dollar and Pound tables, cause of this there are Nl4, NL5, NL10, NL20, NL25 tables.
Through bonus and Final table of the $1 daily rebuy = 144, Without = 94.
Thanks for the comments and good luck!

OK I've lost almost all the money.
Today I've tried some lag-style, normally I play only 12% now I've played 24% aggr pre- and postflop.
Got also some good hands, but not much action.
Lost at NL5 and won at NL10 and NL20 up 40
and then the big hand where I've lost all:
Set vs Straight, I should have folded on the flop, but I couldn't!
Not enough discipline, at the flop I thought about folding, but hoped...
Than I've lost with set vs straight and set vs loose player and very unlikely straight. Couldn't fold KK on the river... Discipline!!
Back to nitty weak play worked up a bit, but lost 2 big hands KK vs QQ and ATs with overcards and Flush draw vs TP 9 of my very loose and aggr. opponent. Another 2 stacks down.
No more NL20!
Bankroll: 60 (without bonuses: 10)

OK, new start:
- Will work on Discipline!
- Work again on yEd Decision trees (easier for me to fold, to think clearly)
- Reads and how to exploit
- Plain theme for Mansion
- Think about what it means to raise preflop with different hands vs different opponents. for example 44 (MP) vs aggr. opps behind or players who don't fold on the flop... (implied odds as PFR? Foldequity?)
Here is a graph that I like a lot more (also 11/2011, same network), never had such an upswing before:

Ok, have not done anything of the above, didn't got the plain theme to work...
I'm $40 up again the last 3 days. Playing NL10.
My Vpip ~ 10-20%, not very aggressive...
My Graph (last 3 days):
A hand that I've won, but don't like:
I've called preflop with JJ (SB) after 1 raiser and 1 caller, then the BB 3-bet (squeeze?) and now I've asked myself what to do?
I haven't played many hands up to this point, always folded and couldn't fold, so I shoved.
My opp. stats: 21/21 (25 hands)
I think I should have folded.
His range: AJs, AQ, AK, AA-88
and I think he'll fold 88,99 after a shove of me, perhaps also AJs.
So I'm always 50:50 or a 20:80 underdog.
Don't know the exact numbers for overpairs vs me, TT vs me, Ak (16),AQ (16) vs me.

I don't really understand why you're flat calling AK there and then re raising a 3 bet all in?
Also in another post you talked about re raising 44 against an agro player but I can't think of too many situations where I 3 bet 44 in a 6 max game, why would you?
You also talk about your Vpip being between 10 - 20 % which although I can understand it changing from table to table depending on the game flow, that still seems like a large variation.
Finally you talk about low Vpip as not too aggressive. Vpip is a measure of tight or looseness not aggression.
Hope some of that helps

Cause there is no cash school momenary, I play momentary no more on Mansion (played 2 weeks and lost $100 in cash games and won $80 in tournaments)
Played on 770 and lost 1/2 of my $50 stack on the NL5 tables, wanna have holdem indicator add. to holdem manager, cause holdem manager supports only the biig rooms.
Will read some books and try to learn from them.

Yesterday I've played some NL2 cash on Poker 770 and lost a few bucks,
but placed 2nd in a $1 tournament (~570players).
Yeah I' was very lucky.
Played very nitty only best starting hands and won every shove with 50% or 80% Equity.
At the final table I was like always in the tournament a small stack, but had 2 times luck to win with hands where I was dominated.
Don't know really how to play tournaments, but 2 final tables in the last ~15 tournaments. I think I had just luck.
Momentay I read Hole Card Confessions.
Tried one play vs a bell shaped range at the cash games yesterday, but I should stop myself, cause I should know that that player was not a Tag, so he could'nt fold any TP.

I have no idea what a bell shaped range is but I wouldn't ever be trying to get any player to fold a top pair type hand at the low stakes, TAG or not.

They don't even like to let go of 2nd pair a lot of the time. I fall victim to this still too. At micro stakes, when someone does not go away by the turn, don't put in any more money without at least TPGK (generally)

I wouldn't quite go that far. I'm just saying that you don't want to try and get people to fold TOP PAIR type hands, it's just spewy and not going to work that often.
Don't ever have set rules like I will not fire turns with less than top pair as you'll just not develop a skill set to becoming good at poker. There will also be lots of spots that you miss out on value with more marginal strength hands and you'll also be missing good barrel spots as well as not developing your hand reading abilities.
Remember what I have always said. Never play a one size fits all style of poker, the way you make money is adapting to each type of opponent.

Thanks,
A bell-shaped range is when you know what your opponent has.
Didn't knew that bsrange before.
When you know he most likely has an Ace, but he likes to keep the pot small,
like a better TAG, you can perhaps get him to fold a TP like hand. (when the flush comes...)
In the example above the player was too bad and the flush came on the turn. Such players would perhaps fold to a big bet on the river when you had raised them on the turn, but the raise on the river is not enough, they often don't connect the river action to the possible flush on the turn.
What I noticed in my last tournaments, esp. in the later phase were min-raises vs possible steals.
When they had to show a hand they most of the time had a middle pair.
Three times I saw JJ. As I placed 6th I busted as I were the SB with AKo and the BB min-raised me, I shoved and he had JJ and called.
I mean that's no good example, as I think he should have shoved over my steal with the JJs.
But I've to read more about tournament strategies and when to apply such play.
I think when the stacks are deeper you could get them to fold preflop or take the pot as the agressor after the flop, esp. IP.
Now I'm also at Betonline, made $5 in 3 Sessions - not that good.
Play is more as in tournaments, limping with pairs...
The Betonline software crashed/hanged up themselve every 20 minutes.
The last time I played I could play 75 minutes before the error.
With the 20 minutes crash I had only 400mb free on my hard disk.
75 minutes = 700mb free.
What I've noticed when I looked at my task manager is that the software at the beginning needs 110mb memory, but it grows every minute and then after 75 minutes and 270mb needed memory it crashed.
Don't know why the software needs more and more memory.
But 75 minutes without a break are acceptable, as the software loads very fast.
Today it crashed after 45 minutes when I closed all my tables.

The last week at betonline from 25 to 110, but today I've lost 4 NL10 stacks.
Nobody paid me off.
Lost 1 time with Khigh flush vs A-high flush on 3suited flop,
AA vs QQ, set over set and many small pots.
I often don't know if I win the ? pots,
when I only win big pots with a set vs top 2 pair, or set over set...
Hope the next days are better again.
|
Kurdt78
|
Today is better, at least in postflop pots.
I stopped the limping game and played more straightforward startinghand ABC game.
Preflop I've won 1 all-in at NL6 with Ako vs 22 and I've lost 2 stacks at NL10 KK vs 66, QQ vs 56o.
Again up 3 stacks, momentary 10 NL10 stacks.
|
Kurdt78
|
The last 2 days the betonline software didn't let me play, always connecting problems.
|
Kurdt78
|
Now I've tried a limping game, a tag-style game a nitty game and now a laggy game, but i loose.
I can't win at Betonline... (hope only momentary)
Every time 2 pair, Flushes, Full Houses...
How do I play Top Set?
I win only small pots and loose big ones...
Again down to 6BB NL10.
A little bit frustrated...
(Don't know if I can record some play for the 1-1, cause i've no harddisk-space, but...)

dude. easy. I suggest you try out the tag style. that will bring you further than the others at the moment in my opinion at least at these stakes. I know BO is rumored to like have the same fishy play from lowest up to 100nl . thats why i suggest TAG.
You just gotta keep grinding and make the best decision. Playing top set is probably the easiest to play. You bet every street big .. Look at the board is there straight or flush possibilities when the fish raise the river and the 3rd card to flush came. As sad as it is. Unless you got a read on the player that he bluffs a lot then i would actually consider folding. As fish tend to turn their cards face up.
If you feel like asking more or talking more add me on skype.

Ok, OP, stop trying to 'play a style'. You need to play differently in every single situation. Every time you have a decision, think of the most optimal EV way of playing the hand. Write down this quote and leave it near your computer:
Play every street of every hand as optimally as possible.
A lot of people in online poker snap make decision, and don't properly use their time bank to think it through. I'm one of them, but do as I say, not as I do.
Anyway, there should be no such thing as playing a style IMO, you should be playing every situation as it comes to you, in the most +EV way. The reason for forums, books, videos, is to help you find the most +EV way. So start playing sessions (keep the amount of tables really low, like 1-2 to start) and focus on everything. I bet you never do that too. Don't focus on what you're doing, focus on what everybody at the table is doing. Whenever a hand gets past the flop, handread everyone. Just try it, watch a ton of videos, comment on and post a ton of hands, read some books. The thing about this game is, you need to put in the work. Almost anyone can make it in this game if they try hard enough. Now get grinding boi.

Thanks fo the replies.
Yes I'll think more about the situations individually.
I think at Betonline I've more trouble to read my opps. than on other poker rooms.
Through their loose play preflop I've perhaps overvalued my tp hands sometimes and my opps. were also lucky. They raised me so often, but nearly always had it.
Yesterday I've played some $1-$3 mtts on Partypoker, Pokerstars and ipoker.
2 times ITM, 70.(~500 players) and 28. (~950 players), but no final table.
Today I've lost another stack.
Stole a few pots postflop from mediocre hands. Lost 2 medium sized pots.
Full house vs 4-of-a-kind and another hand vs an unknown player, where I had QQ and the player onthe BU min-raised me.
I've just called and the flop came: J77.
I checked and he c-bets pot. I called.
Turn: ? (small card)
He bets relative big after I've checked again.
So I folded.
Later I see him bet big with 2pair, flush draws, sets, 4-of-a-kind... TP with straigh and flush possible on board... and he won often, but in the end he lost 2 stacks with flush draws.
I think:
A normal player who had raised normal should have here AA-JJ, AJ.
A normal player who raised small should have AA-77,AJ, 78s-KQs...(and a few more) on the flop, but the turn bet should be either a bluff or AA-JJ or any 7.
For a normal player the bluff is less likely.
Against unknown I should have reraised preflop and bet this flop as PFR or at least bet into the min-raiser, but cause I knew he likely makes a c-bet I checked. On the turn I should have bet.
When I've had the read that he likes to bet and raise. I should have donked into the PFR, perhaps 1/2 pot and normally got it in on the flop.
I don't know from the hands I saw if he had shoved it in with a J or a hand like 88, but there's no alternative on a flop like this vs such a player.
I don't want to give him on the turn TT-55, or AK. Even, if it's not so unlikely.
+I thought I should wait for a better spot.
|
Kurdt78
|
Today I've started with a big 1 1/2 stack win with AA.
- Then I've lost 1/2 stack 3-barrel bluffing vs cs.
- Then I've lost 1 stack vs the same opp., which I saw calling an 1/4 stack all-in with K9o.
He opened from EP for 2 BB + 1 player called.
I was in the 3rd seat and reraised with AKo.
The loose-passive guy 4-bet me and I shoved.
At other Poker rooms I had either called the raise preflop (not so much caller behind) and had nealy always folded my hand to a 4bet from a loose-passive opponent.
But the loose plays of the opponents here confuses me.
I should have noticed that this guy is passive and not aggressive and when he doesn't wants to fold his hand he should shove with hands like 66-AA, AK-AT..., but when he 4-bets I should have folded.
He had obv. AA.
-Then I've lost 2-pair vs AA on flop and set over set.
-Won another hand FH vs 3-of-a-kind vs the loose-passive opp. above.
Beak even.

Damned I'm out of the tournament.
Absolutely misplayed AA.
Only 90 players/600 left and I had AA with an good average stack.
2 loose players limped and I raised to 5BB from the SB.
1 player called.
Flop: KJx, I think with 2 heart
I bet a little less than 1/2 pot, cause it's that what I would do always.
He called. Turn: 9
I checked # he bets ~ 1/2 pot + I shoved.
Perhaps I thought I could get to SD with my turn check.
Wanna keep the pot small, but the pot was too big.
Too tired to think! Sometimes.
I should have raised preflop a little bigger and on the flop bet 3/4 pot, when I plan not to fold at any point in the hand.
He had J9o and won.
I've to learn also how to play a stack of 30- 50 BBs.
|
Kurdt78
|
Momentary I've no luck.
lost with TP vs Flushdraw
lost with 2pair vs TP
lost with overpair flop vs 2pair on turn
favorite in a hand then both won
only won 1 pot with a better TP hand than my opp.
In tournaments I lose momentary with KK vs 33, QQ vs JJ...
The luck will come back...
That's something I'll write down to keep me focused.
It's for me that I know I've played ok and lost.
Have to think about players at Betonline.
Do I have to raise bigger preflop? When? Against which opps?
Do I have much bigger implied odds?
Why do I play another poker than at other poker rooms?
One situation, which arised the last days 2-3 times(tournament+cash game):
I raised before the flop with something like AK and 1 player called OOP.
On the flop I hit my A or K.
I think He'll fold most of the time when I bet and he's behind so I decided to check +bet the turn.
Then on a blank turn he bets pot + I call.
On the river he bets pot or overbets pot, in the tournament he even shoved.
I folded and my opponents showed me TP with a weak Kicker, someting like K5.
How can I play these hands? How can I know that they overplay their hands so much? They play them as they had 2pair+.
Mostly these players have a low aggr. factor, so bluffing is less likely.

I'm back at $140 at Betonline and I'm up 5 stacks at Partypoker playing NL10.
Cause I got nothing back (Training) I withdraw most of my Mansion Poker money.
Yesterday I was able to beat 80,000 players. (World Record Pokerstars)
Again 1 stack down at Party AKo vs TT (Coinflip),
but made some mistakes, perhaps also because playing 10 tables.
As I had AA and raised 2 limpers I thought I had 3-betted someone and on an 994 flop and my opp. calling me down to the river + then reraising me I did not fold.
Discipline! In this session I did not like to fold a few times and lost nearly every time.
|

|
id advice you to NOT play 10 tables. 2 - 3 at max i would say you could handle
|
Kurdt78
|
Thanks n1ghtah,
I think I should play max 7 tables at Party.
When I only play 2-3 tables I think I play way too much hands and I outthink myself about the opp.'s ranges. So when playing only 2-3 tables I have to sometimes watch TV and phone at the same time to keep me focused.
At Betonline I'll max play 6 tables at the same time.
|
n1ghtah
|
i suggest 2 - 3 tables and you go and say 7 and 6 .. i have to say i dont agree with your choice.. again 3 at max maybe 4 if you can handle that.. you think you need 7 tables to keep you focused.. wrong .. sorry im harsh but it seems like from your updates you need a bit of help to beat the lowest stakes and that is equal 6 - 7 is too many tables.. if you cant beat the lowest limit playing 4 max then do you really think you can beat it by playing 7 tables?
i look at it the more tables you add the more experience you have.. you cant expect not being a constant winner with 3 tables adding 4 more will do you any good. You think you need tv or phone to keep you focused... wrong! that distracts you and thats a fact.. i dont think theres anyting like overthinking. Regarding tv and phone.. turn the tv off, put away the phone. ignore skype messages or any chat.. Force yourself to focus on your game, be calm and think rational. Be conscious about not playing too many hands , be conscious about every decision you make while being at the tables
when you start out you will need to practice giving people the right range you have to notice what kind of playertype.. do they play draws passive? do they go nuts with second pair ? are they tags or lags or loose passive? the more info you get on your opponents the more profitable your game will be.
listen i know it is really attractive to play lots of tables and be like nanonoko being profitable at 24 tables. but lets face it you are not him. you cant be as profitable as him .. otherwise you wouldn't try to bluff a calling station and you wouldn't play the lowest stakes .. again my advice 2 - 3 tables.. personally i can play 6 tables and be profitable but im playing 3 at maximum because that way i will notice more traits on my opponent and my winrate will be higher than if i play 6 tables mediocre.
playing lots of tables tend to make people auto pilot and not thinking enough.. some people can but not as a beginner.. lets take nanonoko as an example.. when he started out with 50 dollars and was a beginner he didn't jump in the game at 7 tables. he started playing 1 table and slowly adding more tables the more he studied and became better.. There is nothing wrong with playing 2 - 3 tables its not embarrassing or anything..
I really would like you took my advice , i want to help you and thats why ive been a little harsh in this post. I would like to see you move up in stakes and win in poker and i sadly have to admit with that decision your making it harder than it should be.. Again im only here to help you so please consider try and follow my advice.
Best regards

oh and i forgot this after reading your updates again, you seem to focus A LOT on your results about what stack you lost or started or won.. Another advice is to get some sort of black box and cover your stacksize so you cant see how much money you got on the tables. force yourself not to watch your total br in the cashier.. just think about making the best decision at the tables and forget all about what your bankroll is at.. i personally only check mine once a week and i dont look at my graph in HEM or on sharkscope or pokrtableratings.. i believe this will help you..
ps. about the black box try and search on google after "tiltbuster ahk script" or some of that sort.. i used to use a ahk script.. now i use my HEM2 HUD to cover my stack.

Im going to try this i spend alot of time looking at hem and graphs etc even when im playing i think i worry far to much about my total br, this is slowly becoming a problem and effecting my game.
Great post buddy
I totally agree with you on playing 3-4 tables. I used to smash 9-10 tables playing 6max nl10 with the telly on phone msg etc and rely on rake to keep me going.Best thing i ever did was join the forum read a ton of threads watch a shed load of training videos and talk to some really decent guys over skype to realise the error of my ways.
My game has improved for sure i play 4 tables at nl10 and really get a grip of whats happening on the table , turn the telly off leave the phone on the side close all chats and stick Noely G and his high flying birds on and im in the zone

i used to dabble between 16 - 24 tables when i played 2nl at FT.. was breakeven slight loser .. although i moved to fixed limit i am playing 25/50c and 3 - 4 tables .. i have at least 200k hands experience multi tabling and i see my winrate at 3 - 4 big bets per 100 and that makes me happy playing 4 tables instead of 24 tables and be breakeven / slight loser .. playing too many tables makes you a robot and i will bet on you wont move up in stakes ever if you play too many tables than you can handle.
So to kurdt, i believe just by watching your updates 6 or 7 tables is way over your head currently.. If you really want to play 7 profitable you will at some point but as of right now playing 7 tables won't do you any good so 2 - 4 tables try that for 25k hands at least and study a lot and im gonna bet your game AND winrate will improve

Thanks alot for your replies,
yes I do like to watch during my session on my bankroll what I've won or lost. (esp. at HM, cause it's easy)
I don't really know what tells can help me or how to exploit tells when I spot them.
Watched many videos on stoxpoker, pokerstrategy... (Didn't help me much) but I think books and articles help me the most to improve my game.
One thing I consider when I play with HM is the aggression of my opp. if he's 2-barreling always, small WTS, fold to raise flop as pfr, fold to 3-bet.
Can I profitably play my hand oop, ip vs this opp. and how should I play the hand. This is something I think is esp. important when I'm playing vs a straightforward player with a wide preflop range. (predictable, often not much implieds)
At Betonline it seems there're no such players and the stats don't help that much.
I have not bluffed vs any PFR at Betonline until now and made no 3-bet bluffs. When there are already 2 players in the pot I normally don't raise TT, JJ (likely multiway pot).
Yesterday I've lost 2 times with AA vs KK, 1 time KK vs QQ, 1 time with 33 on 873 vs 87. Not many hands in the 4-5 hours. Won some smaller pots, stole some blinds or isolated a player and then won with a c-bet.

You mentioned earlier in the last page or two (page 3 or 4) that you tried 3-barelling bluff on a calling station.
yet again you talk about losing AA vs KK etc etc. Whats that gonna help ? It would be better to continue telling us about stealing blinds from tags on your left and getting it in good against the fish on the right to you at the tables Be positive and dont think / focus on the few standard beats..
Ive lost AA vs KK a lot of times to but its just luck since im a favorite preflop. They just get lucky. You have to think about you have won underPP vs overPP too a few times.
It goes both ways with the beats, we per nature rarely remember the times where WE sucked out and only remember the times we lost KK vs AA ..

Yes that's true, even very seldom, cause I fold JJ vs tight opps., often also QQ vs Fullstacks, I only write it down for myself.
On 1st session of today I was a bit on tilt. - 2 stacks. (3tables)
Could not fold tp vs aggro player. Could not fold 2 pair vs passive reasonable player on likely straight board. I said to myself he has it, but I knew I could not fold.
Normally my play is like: Give me a reason to fold and I'll fold.
|
n1ghtah
|
your playing scared poker. wtf folding JJ vs semi tight opponents which is not even a good player. and often QQ vs a fullstack ? wtf get it in pre. like always.
Could not fold top pair vs aggro player = you shouldn't do that depending on the board.
two pair vs passive player. = depends on the stacks and HOW tight a passive player he is.. if he goes all in. Yeah fold..
But all of this is like scared poker.
AGAIN you mention - stacks .. IM SO HAPPY you try 3 tables. Really happy. Next we need to work on getting your mind off the money. Have you tried searching for that script that can help block your stack size. ? if so get it before your next session
Normally your play is "Give me a reason to fold and ill fold"
words from a scared poker player. what you are telling me/us is that you are scared shitless. am i right ? You fare extremely bad against aggressive opponents ? . I think forgetting about the money will help you play less scared since you wont care about the money
scared money poker player = focuses too much on the results.
There for one folds QQ vs a fullstack because your afraid of KK - AA those hands are the only ones that is a favorite against your QQ - then some flips is AK - basically any Ax but really not a flip now that i think about it except for the AK hand.
QQ vs AKo/s = 56% vs 43% aproximately. So there for even if he has AK you should get it in and im sure these players at 10nl is willing to put all in pre with AK which you should be more than happy with getting it in with QQ
Folding JJ vs tight opps. Is that pre or post and on what boards? What are you scared about ? That they have AA - KK - QQ , ofcourse many will have Ax and hit the ace on the board. Sure our QQ is getting beaten by AK / Ax 43% of the times. but You are still the favorite and should win 56% of the times you get it in with QQ vs AK .. more than 50% and its a profitable play.
I think i covered most of your concerns you express why are you writing beats down ? You should write hands which you find troubling. and post them, Was it a good call with the J high flush draw against this specific opponent with x reads and x stats. Ask for help in the cash 6max forum.
One more time STOP FOCUSING ON YOUR STACKS AND MONEY !!!! It seriously won't do you any better telling us and yourself your down - 2 stacks .. Thats natural to be down 2 stacks , its natural to be up 2 stacks. All you gotta focus on is make the right decisions. Play 25k hands or more (pref) show us your stats and graph .. Then we can conclude if you are breakeven / loser or winner .. what you gotta work on, what things your good at. I think its neccessary to tell oneself the good stuff too. So lets say you 3bet the optimal range of yours compared to the opp type. Then we can go YES you did the most optimal play / best decision. Next, do you play too many hands, what are your vpip at.. 22? Then its a good place to start. Then yes !! we did that right. Your PFR ? 8 ? Well then we need to raise more preflop and lets aim for 15 - 18..
After 25k hands more.. Is your PFR up at 15 - 18 ? Yes? Then good job etc etc.
I can give you many advices. and I really hope you follow some of them. But i nor anyone else can play for you. We have some tools to give you.. You just gotta learn to use the tools yourself..
Now next time you update your br thread here. Leave out any -+ stack. Tell what you think you did great or bad.. did you 3bet a tight opponent with K9o ? Then write that down and say I MUST NOT 3BET LIGHTLY.. Did you bet close to pot all 3 streets against a calling station and got called and (won or lose) you extracted maximum value from the player , you will win most of the time (depending on the cards ofcourse.) Did you try to bluff a calling station ? that is a nono , did you reship 34s against an aggressive opponent that 3bets A LOT because you hated he 3bets you 99% of the time? Thats a nono..
Do this many times. Do this a lot, Examine your own play . If you are unsure of what the correct play is. Your br thread and forum in general is here to help you.

Was just really frustrated after I've lost with overpairs 6 times in a row vs underpairs all-ins preflop. Don't know how likely that is.
Was at $160 and expected to be over $200 at the end of the week, now I'm at $45 again. Not much hands won the last 5 sessions.
I*ve posted a hand in the MTT Forums I've played after that frustrating session: http://www.pokerhandreplays.com/view.php/id/3869579
Placed 11th/700 in a small Turbo MTT.

Don't know how you all can beat the players at Betonline!
Again 3 Sessions and - $20 at NL6 with a tight-agggr. play.
Down to $50.
(Need to record a video of a session...)

Today I wanted to start a challenge:
Win 10 Buyins NL6 or quit playing at Betonline.
10 days (or at least 30 hours)
(Winning is the only reason for me to play there - othewise I would play at PartyP.)
I started with $40.
(Was at $160 before but lost all through Bad Beats at NL10 and NL6.)
Today: -$7 (played 4 1/2 hours)
Played only NL6. Bad beats or bad sits. like mostly at Betonline.
Day 2: ´+$24 = $57 (4 hours)
In the biggest hand I was lucky to win with AK vs KK and AQ.
(KK-EP limped, AQ (next player) min-raised, I've raised my AK, KK called, AQ moved all-in, I shoved and KK called.)
Day 3: +$6 (1.45)
Day 4: 0 (6 hours) = $63.
Some good sits., some bad. A good breakeven day.
Started with 2 stacks down in the first 15 minutes.
And another hand where I had QQ and played not only this hand very passive, cause of the fear to lose... + an passive fish 3-betting preflop...
But then I played better...
Do you always fold to turn all-in shoves of passive players?
Mostly they have 2 pair+... and I've TP or AA...
|
Kurdt78
|
Day 5: + $4. (Another 3.5 hours)
After 5 days (~ 20 hours) I'm up $27. (NL6) = $67.
Today sometimes a bit too loose, but I think it was a good session.
|

|
how many tables are you playing ?
|
Kurdt78
|
Play as much as available.
Mostly 4 tables NL 6 and 1 table NL2.
(When there are only 2 or 3 tables I open a new one.)
Last 2 sessions I played a more normal strategy.
Work on discipline: Will fold Overpairs more often in the future, esp. AA,KK.
Undervalue my hands on turn more often (flush came or not wet board) when I've TP to call a riverbet IP (bluff, flush, overplayed TPWK) of my opp. or to bet and get called from him.
Keep pots small with hands like TPGK.
2nd barrel bluff more often vs opp. dependent, board esp. 6max.
|
n1ghtah
|
Work on discipline: Will fold Overpairs more often in the future, esp. AA,KK.
why would you fold the two best starting hands more often? You should fold them when your behind. Not just because you gotta fold them more often. thats like money out of the window.

Kurdt78
|
From my experience at Betonline the most players are passive at NL6.
Esp. when I'm the PFR.
When they raise they could also have TP, Draw on T-high board or AK on ATx, but that is rarely cause these passive players like to call.
Nearly always when they raise me on turn or river they have 2pair+.
They flopped 1 pair and the 2nd on turn or river.
I showed strength 2 or 3 streets and they are passive.
On the turn they often like to shove their 2pair.
Don't know how often I need to be good, but I think I'm only good max 20% of the time.
Cause they are passive...
When I get raised from a normal opp. it's also mostly a better hand mostly a set. Sometimes overcards, which slows down on turn, but rarely.
Cause of big losses with AA/KK I've sometimes not 2nd barreld.
But then called or bet any river (opp. dependent).
Should be opp. dependent.
Is the board dry/wet
Was it a 3-bet pot?
Do this opp. call every flop bet and fold to most turn bets? (turn call. req.)
(Do opp. likes to float?)
assunptions:
Normal opp. fold to most turn 2nd barrels.
Loose opps. often have a weak range and cause of that they often fold also to turn 2nd barrels. (less than TP)
Loose opps. reraise/ shove turn with more than tp.
Some like to slowplay with flush, straight, set. (Many players)
Mostly it's better to bet/fold turn and then make a smaller bet 1/2 pot on river. (but also bet/fold)
Cause of this I've to work on discipline.
It's easier to undervalue my hand with a turn check and call/bet the river.
(control size pot, easier decisions...)
Passive opps. overvalue their hand on dry boards often.
Loose-Aggr. opps oop like to bluff more often.
When I would 2nd barrel/fold vs any player, then I think I had to call raises/shoves on turn sometimes.
Otherwise aggr. opps. could easily take the pots from me.
and even some passive opps. can decide the turn-bet is so big, I commit myself with the T and shove, but on the other side passive guys would do this only when they have not much behind = easy call.
Assumption: Passive opps. like to call or fold on turn with TP, when they've not raised on the flop.
So to get the most value from TP hands and to protect vs the 15% improving, I think I should bet and fold to a ahove and maybe call a raise and fold on river.
The aggr. opp. may see my bet/fold on turn and try some play when I 2nd barrel against him, but vs aggr. opps I will in the future maybe check the turn with TP/Overpair and bet 2pair+, cause I don't really know (until I've a read) to call the turn bet and/or river bet. (likes to bluff)
Both players should have weak ranges at this point.
...
Like to play my overpairs more like TPTK.
Only in 3bet pots i like to play the hands fast.
Just thoughts...
|
Kurdt78
|
Day 6: + $13 = $83. (3 hours)
Folded a few times AQ vs a flop raise and even once AK preflop (opp. had QQ) at least keeps the variance low.
and I think I can get better sits. Don't know if this thinking is wrong vs a example was: tight range and min-raise/4bet. (and NL6 players)
|
Kurdt78
|
Day 7:
I've played 30 minutes this morning.
One crazy guy with ~99/89 stats gave me 2 1/2 buy-ins NL6.
I find these gambling type of players only rarely.
In november the players were weaker. Now I've to play a normal game at most times at NL6.
Normaly I play in the evening 8pm GMT+...
Perhaps there are better times to play...?
When it goes well I'll win my challenge today.
|
Kurdt78
|
Day 7 Update: + $38 (4 1/2 hours) NL6 = $121
So I finished my little challenge!
don't know which goals I'll like to met in the near future, maybe i'll play a few tournaments on PartyP., ipoker and then set me a new challenge at Betonline.

The last days I played not so much. I'm now at $150.
The last session I've played some NL6 and NL10 tables.
At the end of the session there were not much NL10 tables and these NL10 tables were full of NL10 regs, so I played at 2 NL25 tables.
One hand I had AA in the SB.
One player limped from MP (no reads), I raised to 6BB and he (snap) called.
Flop: 46Qr
I bet 1/2 - 2/3 pot and he called.
Turn: Q
I checked and he bet full pot relatively fast. (perhaps snap)
I folded.
(1st i'm no good poker player.)
I mean when I have no read I'm mostly weak and fold in such sits., but when I think about it, I have a wide range here (contains mostly nothing or pairs below Q). So when my opp. make this play with any hand and I fold always I'm outplayed.
But what is his range?
Just a float. ( I think I need a read?)
His range: Q, 66, 44 and opp. dependent nothing, 77+.
(Is pot betting his normal play? read?)
My conclusion:
Against a normal opp. at these stakes I think my fold was correct.
Normal = loose-passive
With a read about floating or attacking weaknesss, likes to bluff...
it becomes a call.
|
Kurdt78
|
The last 4 sessions were not so good + $20 = $170.
1 or 1 people seem to be 24h a day online.
I had some sits. vs this one guy (24h) today where I raised KK big (8BB) IP and he called both times the flop was low and I c-betted.
He called. He and I checked the turn.
On the river he now bets 1/2 - 2/3 pot on a connected low board.
Both times I folded.
Don't know how to play against this guy.
Both times he has when he doesn't bet 1 low pair this way (turning his hand into a bluff) a bluff or a hand that beats me.
Don't know how often I need to be ahead to call.
My play until now is to bet one or two times and then fold.
He is rel loose preflop, so he has to give up on a lot of flops.
(and that is the money I get from him and sometimes in raised multiway pots he makes the pot bigger through his calls)
He is a winning player, passive preflop and postflop he doesn't raise or makes plays vs pfr often. So when he raises mostly for value.
He often calls the cbet, but fold to a 2nd barrel.

My current bankroll: 185
I was at 215 yesterday, but...
The last week I won no AA vs KK or KK vs AA preflop all-in situations. ( I had 4 or 5)
The biggest losses today:
Again with AA vs KK lost. (1,5 Buyins)
And K7 vs 22 lost. (1,7 Buy-Ins)
I raised K7 from BU. The SB called and the BB (22) made a 3x 3bet and we called. Flop: 772
(I had seen the player with 22 call me down with 62o and no outs and after my check on the river as the flush came he checked also.)
I expected him to go all-in with any 7 or perhaps even an overplayed AA,KK.
(Don't know iff 22 c/r or lead out, but all-in was on turn (from him 2/3 pot), cause I wanted him to think I can have any pair.)
Update:
Yesterday worked my way again up to 205 and now to 220.
HU I've lost 1,5 Buy-Ins NL10 vs a player I could not beat.
I've to watch 2 HU video series the next week.
1 Buyin of the 1,5 I've lost in a 3bet pot + flopped flush with 46s vs the flopped royal flush of my opp. = not my fault.
|
Kurdt78
|
Yesterday I won ~ 6 Buyins (NL10) in the 1st hour. (too good to be true.) - sets vs multiple opps and nuts...
Then I decided to try to play 2 tables NL25.
and lost 1/2 stack while trying to adapt to these games.
NL25 is much more aggressive. No more mw pots. Mostly Nits and Tags at these tables or loose players with a low WTSD. Like at other poker rooms.
Then I had a sit. at NL25 where I raised AK a min-stack shoved for ~ 1.60 and another player (a little looser than TAG,NIT) called. I decided to reraise again to $5 and now the caller moved all-in.
I was so scared to loose so I folded, but there was already so much money in the pot I think I normaly can't fold here.
Opp.'s range here is QQ+(sometimes JJ), AK. He had QQ.
The I had a sit. with AA vs KK at NL, which I won.
So many sits. with AA or KK and I mostly loose when I get them in preflop. But this time a wonder and I won.
The Co raised and I called. The BB squeezed and I 4-bet and he shoved.
I think that when I have no read I should 3bet in this sit., so I made a mistake here. Even when the CO has a wide range and I'm IP.
On the other hand when the players at NL25 or that player (seems to be tag?) are the same like at other online poker rooms then they'll fold to my 3bet 70% of the time.
So I think I should call when the players in the blinds are not loose?
Or 3bet when I 3bet here with a lot of hands, but then I have to change my play, which I'll have to do when I'll play NL25 in the future.
Then I lost $17 with KK vs AA.
I raised and got a min-reraise from a player IP. (no reads, only that he raises when he enters a pot.)
I saw these min-raises so often at Betonline and mostly it's AA or KK, which doesn't want me to fold.
So I think I can play it also another way. Don't know esp. OOP, but when the opp. is not too aggr. my opp. will slow down on turn or river when I just call preflop.
Esp. at NL25 vs Nits and TAGs, which only call these shoves with QQ+, AK. Perhaps even only KK or AA.
Do you know a better way to play KK?
Then I had a few sits. where I had 30% equity vs 2 opps. or 48% equity vs 2 which I lost.
Then a sit. where I raised with KK and got called by 2 players. I was IP.
Flop: JTx + (possible flush draw?)
Both checked and I bet ~ 1/2 pot. 1 player called and the other a slightly loose aggr. opp. shoved.
After thinking for a while I shoved also.
I don't know if my play was correct, but I thought his range was too wide to fold even if I have no outs.
I gave him any J, JT, (Flush draw), Straight draw
...It's not too much...
The other player called after a some time also.
The player which shoved had AJ and the other had KQ. I ddidn't want the 2nd player in the pot also, cause it it increases the outs of my opps. vs me if I'm ahead.
The turn was an A. So I lost.
At the end I had a set under set sit. with 99 vs QQ.
So my bankroll: +$18 = ~$240 (played today 6.5 hours)
I think I will play more NL10 in the future (much easier), learn more about the play of a 50BB stack and think about the play at NL25.

I don't know why but I win momentary.
Am I on an Upswing? or just lucky?
My Bankroll is now at $440.

The last 2 days I've only lost.
70% of opps. are too strong for me at NL25. Cause they know how to handle weak-tight players like me.
and the other didn't payed me off.
So I lost $80.
Bankroll: ~$230.

Month is over now.
Was able to make $650 out of $40.
Even with my weak tight play.
Now I wanna withdraw $300. Hope they let me.

Have to wait.
Hope to get the docs accepted + payout in the next 7(-10) days!
Until the 1st payout I'll not play much at betonline.
The last days there were so much server problems. Could not connect to updateserver...

|
Now 7 days without any reply. My docs are not reviewed yet.
The session this month NL25:
+77, +11, +6, -34 = +64
The last 2 session there were moments when I just hoped.
When I got only 15% odds and needed 25% or I raised from BU with A2s
and then an unknown donked into me on Qxx and 2 of my suited cards.
I called and on Turn an A came and my opp. bet again 2/3 pot.
Now I should think, but at this moment I just thought I don't wanna fold.
So I raised and obv. he had AQ and won when no flush came on river.
More discipline! more patience!
I should have known he has 2 pair+ on turn, or bluff.
The bet on the A turn makes it less likely that he is on a bluff.

I'm now down -13 again.
Today I've got a reply about my canceled payout request (missing docs)
I had this info in my account 12 days ago.

They say I've to wait.
So I'll wait.

Well done on your month mate.
Have you got them copies of everything they have asked for? You have to give them this, get it approved and then request a payout.
As long as everything is in order, I have never had or known anyone have any problem getting their money out.
I'll also forward this to my affiliate manager just to be sure.

Thank you Brokerstar!
Yeah send them the documents.
Good session yesterday. Got lucky on turn 2 times in reraised mw pots and turn got checked.
Or rivered with AK and flush draw when opp. had a set.
But today I've lost 1/2 the money from yesterday.
AK on KJ vs TT...
The last hand was a hand on NL50, which I've won so I lost only $50.
This hand:
A crazy min stack $6.50 shoved 1st position FR and I was 2nd to act with KK. I called and also a rel. tight player behind IP.
Flop was T33 or something like this.
I checked and the rel. tight played bet rel. big. Something like 2/3 pot.
I shoved and he had QQ.
The thing is not if my play was good or bad. The thing is I had no plan.
I checked even when an A on turn could kill my hand and shoved when recognized that I don't want to fold.
I did not think about his possible hands. Just thought only AA and TT could beat me at that point.
So I stand up and ended the session, cause I thought I'm not focused throught the bad beats earlier this session.
Don't change your password in your Betonline account!
The password in the poker software will still be the same and the sports wallet and the poker software will no more be connected.
Tried it, cause the support aked me for my passworrd yesterday. They should have asked me for the answer of my secret question instead, I think.
Changed it after talking to the support to the old one and it works again.

The month is not so good until now.
Got no reply to my send documents until now. (12 days) Should I send them the docs every 24 hours?, cause their autoresponder mail says they'll approve it within the next 24 hours. Can this help?

It's now 14 days without any reply. Send the docs again today. (3rd time)
Perhaps they don't do it? Another firm? Once per month? The $20 to pay them?
I don't know why I've won last month but don't win this month.
Now ~ 5 Sessions without any winings.
|
Kurdt78
|
Now 18 days without any response to my send documents. Try another payout.
Again a few bad sessions. Lost the last 9 sessions/days I've played.
It was a good beginning when someone overplayed his TP and donked vs 3, i was the pfr with KK.
These spots are not that easy, but momentary the only ones I win. Yesterday I had an aggr. player who donked 3 times pot vs me on QJ4r when I had KK and he had only A5o for a complete bluff. Had no reads that he was overly-aggr.
Then lost vs 1/2-1/3 stack who raised me preflop and then checked the flop, which made me suspicious on T66, but when I made my nut flush on turn and he called my 1/2 pot bet, I think I was committed.
Then I lost vs 4-of a kind. Lost 1/3 stack with AA...

Yesterday I've lost another $60. In the last 10 days at NL25 I've lost over $200.
I play tight-nitty. I know when to fold.
That's all.
I shouöd again work on aggression to take pots away of my opps.
Then I can perhaps win again.
I think I've played last month like wait for good hands and take their money.
This seems no more to work.
So I've to raise more preflop again, make more 2nd barrels, float more...
The payout requested yesterday seems ro work. The money is no more in my account and it says approved.
(Perhaps it takes some days until it is in my moneybookers account.)
Got still no reply to my send docs, but when the payout work...

Yes it takes a couple of days to end up in moneybookers.
Playing tight is all well and good but don't mistake tight for passive, keep well timed aggression in place to make sure you're picking up all the pots you should.
Another thing that I've been doing against fish is adjusting my bet sizing for value and bluffs, no one is exploiting it!

Thanks Broker! Yes I think I played way too passive.
When I play mostly vs the same guys at Nl25 and even the fish notices that I play only made hands.
Last session I played again with more aggression.
One ep player(~50/20) raise/shoved 66 out of ep after my 3bet, I had KK. Won.
I raised ep KK, 2 callers and another guy (~10/6) in SB shoved for whole stack and I folded. I think he can only have AK, KK+.
Folded for the same reason AK vs reraise or big (10BB) raises of opp. (nit-tight) after 1 limper.
Lost with AA and other hands 1/3-1/2 stacks and won vs a reg 1 stack.
In the last sessions I win/lose the same amounts vs fishes/regs.
I don't wanna criticize Betonline, even when it's sometime slow. I like to talk with Maren Rose from the live support. I wanna just document my experiences for other users from this forum. Perhaps they'll have the same problems.
Another possible problem with betonline (got this email):
Hoping you are having a good day today, Unfortunately we are having a little delayed on your request with MoneyBookers we do not have a time frame for getting this issue resolved and we would like to know which alternative method you will like we proceed with this we recommend you Neteller as first option. Thanks for your Patience and Understanding.
Should you require further assistance or information, please contact us by replying to this email or initiating a Live Chat.
It reminds me of Full Tilt at the End. Live support means it could be cause Moneybookers is now skrill, which I doubt.
Live chat could not ask the payment department cause it was closed.
Will ask later again, which this email means.
And again a graph:

I've spoken with the live chat again and gave thme my neteller acc. nr that they can forward this info to the pament department. ~ at the same time they processed the payout through moneybookers.
The last 3 sessions were good.
No easy sessions, but now I play again more aggressive, sometimes donking or cbetting vs 2 with nothing...
So I can easier call with overpair vs 1/2 stack shoves over cbet.
When I play nitty passive it's not that easy cause they give me a much tighter range.
Had a few of these sits.

My graph for this month at Betonline, mosty NL25:
It was a frustrating month. However, perhaps I should be (pleased) that this month were break-even.
1st the problems with the payout/docs.
and I got rarely any hands to play or any good postflop situations.
Played some nitty (weak)-tight (aggr.) game.
Often I had to play with 4 regs + 3 nits at a FR table, cause these were the looser tables these month. Not like February were I had many good sits. and more loose and bad players.
