WOW, pretty unexpected move but really the first we have seen in relation to fulltilt and there situation. Intrestingly tom dwan had this to say on his twitter feed,

"I'll be playing wsop. Feel fine about that morally b/c I've already said I'll give back 100% I ws paid by ftp if players aren't paid in full"

So clearly not all the players feel the same as ivey.

Full Tilt did enough damage to themselves to be honest. The Americans are gone, but now the rest of the poker world on the whole, seem to accept that PokerStars is a far more trustworthy site to play on. This is shown by the numbers at the tables. Check them out at any given time. PokerStars is so far in front it's unreal.

I don't really know what Ivey is trying to do, I see no reason to get on a moral high horse, Poker and Morals don't really go together.

I really do feel for the Americans, it's so sick. You can own a gun, but you can't play a game of cards online in the comfort of your own home. I hope that Ivey's efforts bear fruit for them, but I doubt it will achieve to much.

Blazing,

PS is light years ahead of FTP and has been for a while.

Ivey's decision will hurt American based companies involved with the WSOP enough that it will do more good in return than all actions taken by other dumbass organizations and players combined to this point. Our DOJ absolutely dropped the hammer on the poker world. Ivey just dropped the hammer on FTP. They will either pay ASAP or completely sink as a company. This frees Ivey up to look like a hero in the US and become a golden face of Harrahs, Wynn, Caesars or whoever he chooses. If FTP does pay immediately then he can look like the hero that caused them to and FTP could possibly save face.

BMM,

Dwan supports Ivey's decision, but personally decided to play the WSOP because he had already pledged to pay US players. Both are significantly strong stances, but I think Ivey's accomplishes a lot more.

I think you said it all in your post. Phil Ivey isn't bothered about other peoples money, it's a nice move for him personally, he can't lose can he ?

I have nothing against Phil Ivey, btw, he's a great player obviously.

Whatever happens, I just hope it all works out for the people of America, must be awful.

Personally i hope Full Tilt are forced to pay all US players their owed funds and subsequently Full Tilt then goes down the pan - and good riddence.
