Im on a road to nowhere???thought i would post my progress here as i go along guys/girls!!Ive only just joined and started to concentrate on HUsngs so its only 18games in... my goal is to become a consistent winner period!! does anyone have any suggestion as to what a decent amount of volume is? i realise it may be more a personal thing but any help on this could give me a set target to achieve on a daily basis. I normally have around 3-4 hours each day to play poker!!

It depends on the format you play really but in reg speeds I'd say 10 -15 games a day is good volume for a recreational player. That's about ten games more than I used to play a day

well im like totally new to hu games so im starting out at the reg speed and then change fomats possibly at a later date when required/needed or just to gain experience.
wow 10-15 doesnt sound much..... but i can maybe do more reviewing of my sessions and reading and watching everything i can find on here!! One thing ive noticed at the 1 buckers is that by the time it gets to 25/50, ive found a few players totally pissed off or frustrated because of the way the game has been just small pots and stacks are usually around evenish.. (i think im winding them up with this small balll style??) so ive made a couple of moves where ive been snap called by Ahigh and 2 overcards and i think its just out of frustration they are calling, not that they have thought i have air... i dont know lol i guess ill learnthe ropes as i go along!! |

OK so i am totally getting run over post flop!!
Only few more games in but if i keep posting here its giving me extra incentive not to go back to the mtts etc although ive only played 900 hands im looking at HM and tbh im not sure what kind of stats i should be looking at but heres what they look like know and appreciate some feedback!!

Uhm you need to go into the reports "POSITION" so we can see what your stats are from the SB and BB, having it like this could mean anything :O) |

Ive been playing a few more games and currently on a 6game win streak!!
Just mainly trying to focus on my villains tendencies and then try to exploit it, will try and post a vid at some point!! br is now $44... feel better now after playing so bad atr the start of my venture!!

Looking at your position stats its surprising that you are losing in the SB so I would suggest you eliminate some of the absolute trashy hands from your range...you also play a few too many hands in the BB
Around 40% could work OOP but i think its a tad too much for you at this point |

100 game milestone update!!
Been playing a little under rolled but as long as i dont go silly i shud be ok, started playing 1s then 2s and now trying the 5s Current BR $80 gonna keep at it... just really need to sat away from mtts.. im a sucker for em!!

Ok had a couple of nights playing some mtts and almost bust my roll, went down to 20bucks but thankfully shipped a small $1 turbo mtt!! but after playing some more i still ended up down.
I had a chat with my missus as i really need apply myself better and be more strict to what im playing and we came up with the idea of my poker hobby could pay for a holiday away in October 2011 I was running thru some numbers and here is what i came up with, i would really like some peoples thoughts if this could really be acheivable or maybe im missing anything: $1,332 required 154 days = $9 a day required $1 games @ 60% win rate = 10c per game avg time 10mins = 6 games p/hr = 60c p/hr r/b 60c @ 27% = 16c phr Total 76c p/hr 12 hours play req to hit target ------------------------------------------------------ $1,332 required 154 days = $9 a day required $2 games @ 60% win rate = 25c per game avg time 10mins = 6 games p/hr = $1.50c p/hr r/b 90c @ 27% = 24c phr Total $1.74c p/hr 5.5 hrs play req to hit target/ 33 games per day ------------------------------------------------------------- $1,332 required 154 days = $9 a day required $5 games @ 60% win rate = 75c per game avg time 10mins = 6 games p/hr = $4.50c p/hr r/b $1.50c @ 27% = 40c phr Total $4.90c p/hr 2 hrs play req to hit target/ 12 games per day ------------------------------------------------------------ $10 games @ 60% win rate = $1.50c per game avg time 10mins = 6 games p/hr = $9.00c p/hr r/b $3.00c @ 27% = 81c phr Total $9.81c p/hr 1 hrs play req to hit target ================================================== This maybe too much but its an added goal where if achieved it could pay for spending money as well. If we say: $9 p/hr 3hrs per day $27 per day x 100 days $2.700c = £1,616.67p My current br is $50 and will be starting at the 2s level. Again any thoughts much appreciated |

I'd recommend getting some coaching if you haven't already, it's important to get the basics really right early, then you can build on them.
You might be more advanced, but I'm not sure, I'm just running around everywhere talking up Brokerstars coaching after watching only the first video, loved it haha. GL! |

quick update
Managed to put in 40 games today with a 55% win rate after a really terrible start to the day!! Feel really good i managed to turn it around and also good for controlling my tilt feelings!! had some really horrible villains today that gave me tons of trouble post flop... mainly donk bettors on every hand!! the miniftops is back at FT, i always do well in the mega cheap sats so im 1 tabling HUsng and either playing a miniftops sat or a super turbo stt!! will keep updating, stay posted!! |

Upon starting the build again since my hols ive now played 61 games.
I had a big boost after using my miniFTOPS ticket and managed to cash in that which has me rolled for the 5s now so im feeling a bit better about that as i was struggling to maintain focus at the 2s... the 5s feel a bit meatier i guess!! The up and down swing was all in 1 day(upto the 35 game point), i took a break at the top and it was a mixture of tiredness with it being very late and tilting versus a very lucky player and i kept hitting the rematch button... CB kindly pointed out that HUsnsg are all about momentum and its best for some people to never rematch having just lost, so ty for that!! Im running okish but im really finding it hard to finish people off at the moment, im driving massive draws which arent hitting, my TPGK isnt holding often (usually either High blind stage or villain has like 500 chips left). Villains are spiking rivers a lot etc etc!! Still trying to cure my finger ignoring what my head is saying which is a lot better than it was before!! Other than that, things looking ok for now and will update soon i hope!!

past 150 game point!!
ALthough my roll has shrunk a little (drastically at 1 point), im reminding myself that im "learning" so i dont mind being where im at which is tinkering close to the drop zone back to the 2s!! Ive been having trouble with the fold button in spots where i simply and easily should not be spewing and im really trying to remain focused on that, ive started making a few laydowns where i would have called before and looking back at them makes me feel good about myself as i know its the right play, so GL to me on that!! I read Z1s post here.. http://tagpoker.myfastforum.org/about2980.html and it gave me some ideas on how to use this forum in a productive manner, so onwards and hopefully upwards!! Roll: $128

it seems you come from a tourney and 9 man sng background
HU play is so different go through all the vids or give Brokerstar some money and get the lessons it will help as for the $1 games on tilt just remember most players at this level only bet when they have a big hand and will flat you and ck river with as good as 2 pair so make sure you have a hand when you showdown in a raised pot good luck |

Keep going dude! Have you watched any of Brokers leakfinders for the 2s 5s 10s games? Might help you fix some stuff if it needs fixing... |

Not been updating in a while, ive been in the dumps ever since FT was shutdown, i had around $25 on stars and after much hard work....
Managed to score 2nd in a $1 capped mtt last night
I feel i should have won it outright when it got to HU but 5am finish time i was kinda wired... the guy i ended up heads up with was pretty passive and i just needed a bit more patience Roll brings me up to $166 Time to decide again what to play, esp with the august promotion, any ideas how i can manipulate this into bonus $$$$???? the graph below is just my mtts ive been playing on stars..
