If you've read my other posts you know I whine and cry about full tilt screwing me. Miracle cards etc etc. Well it was much the same today. Get it in with the best hand and boom, I lose. Happened several times. AQ vs A8, 8 on the river. Well you know how it goes. Well I popped. After I calmed down I just felt fine. I sat down and said to myself just keep getting it in with the best of it and don't worry about the rest. So that's what I did. And you know what? It allowed me to fold a couple times when I normally probably wouldn't have. I had turned a set and the river was a flush card. Runner runner spades and he shoves. I was able to lay it down. Most likely wouldn't have earlier in the day. Then I turned a pair and rivered 2 pair. But they made 4 to a straight so I had to muck it after his shove. Probably easy lay downs for you guys but I always think I'm being bluffed. Anyway won the match a few hands later with AK vs A5. Felt good. Down 5 buyins on the day but I think I learned something.

Can I ask how long you've been playing poker of any form?

I've been playing over a year now, and I've found that for the first few months starting out, I would always blame running bad, always.

You really gotta humble yourself and focus entirely on playing.

I've never seen a more true sig than Brokers in relation to poker and "variance":
