I have played poker for a number of yearsHi all,
I have played poker for a number of years and pretty much know the general rules. The question I have though is about betting, which I havnt done much of. Ok, lets say we are playing Hold'em and I have a sweet hand. A player before me bets his last chip and cant go any harder but I want to. What happens? I am thinking I can only bet up to see his bet and everyone else can only do the same. Is this right? Pretty simple question I know but like I said I am only new to the betting side of it and any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Online you can only bet as much as your opponent has infront of them (your stack permitting).
Sounds like you may need to start from the ground up and this is a great place to find your feet.
Good luck and welcome on board.

Hey mate,
Welcome aboard.
Heads Up is whole different game than the others, so use this site to get yourself a good start at it. Catch up with the guys, and maybe sweat (watch) a few of their games as well.
The videos on the site will be a great help, and explain some of the questions about betsizing etc.
Good luck on the tables champ.

Sounds to me like you're talking about 6max or fullring here in which case if you have more chips you can bet all yours as well if you like,
or make a std raise or more. You can only win what the player before you bets if everyone else folds, but if someone after you calls
and matches the amount you bet, then you can win that as well.

Hey dude welcome to the site
If your playng FR or 6Max then;
If the person infront of you moves All-In and your the last person to act then you can only call.
If the person infront of you moves All-In and you have people to act behind you and one of those players have more than you, if you just call they can still raise behind you and you have to put more money in.
Hope that helps

if someone before you has gone all in, you can raise.
thats called isolation.
by doing that youre trying to prevent other players from calling, so youre just heads up to the flop, giving your cards a better chance of holding up, rather than a multi way where youre cards wont hold up as good
thats my understanding anyway??
hope that helps, good luck

you can raise and put all your chips in if you like.... or just call.
