Hi Guys N Girls

My name is Paul from Sheffield England ive been playing poker probably 6-7 months. I mainly play 6max $20 SNG, i was doing well turned $100 into $900 in about ten days which i didnt think was too bad then went on a big downswing not sure why i dont think i was playin any different, just never seemed to hit the board n if i did i they would hit a crazy river n id be beat. Ive watched a few of the Brokerstar vids and i really like them. I have trouble trying to put the opponent on a range but its helped alot with my thinking now. Tried 2 $5 HUSNG but to no avail got sucked out on in the second one tho.

Hopin to learn new skills and new ideas, just generally become a consistant winning player, sorry if ive rambled on abit, Thanks!!

Welcome on board mate.

I think studying any format of the game is going to help you and especially learning heads up as the pre flop game is easy to get to grips with it's the post flop skills that most lack.

Good luck mate.

Hi my BR stands at $300 ATM and obviously hopin to build on that. What stake HUSNG should i play like i said only played 2 HU games, my main problem is i seem to fear that they have always hit when they bet, i know this is not the case, suppose that when profiling a player as a certain type eg TP TA comes into play and there betting patterns from when we see their cards at SD.

Hey dude,

Defiantly look at the videos on the site as there is alot of infomation in there Smile

If your still learn HUSNG then i think you should play th $5's or even the $2's as getting better is whats important.

A very normal BRM is to have 25BI's at the stake you what to play, so in theroy you could play the $10's but i would advice against it as you could quite easily lose alot of money quickly and have to move down stakes anyway.

Thanks for the welcome guys playin well in SNGS since watchin some vids will continue to watch more, brought a whole new way of thinking for me just come back from a 7-1 chip deficit to win then so doing something right will try  a few $5 HUSNGs and probably report back with positive results, thanks again.

Stick to 30 buy ins imo , until you have a decent graph, and some confidence, then feel free to take shots with cut off points set out before you go.

I wouldn't bother with the $2s with a $300 roll.  If you really struggle you can move back down after losing 10 buy ins and still be way over rolled for the $2s no problem.

Good luck mate, if you want any help, feel free to ask any time. I have an awful lot of experience at the $5s and $10s at least. Watch all of BrokerStars Videos, and take in the post flop play in particular.

This is a hand ive just played could, just wondering if i could have done anything different dont think im laying it down heads up, he was quite LAG and i put him on an 8 upto the flop.

Erm not really much to be said really when a flush gets beat in a HU match. Just chalk it upto variance.

Also it's great that you're posting hands and you'll get more responses if you post them in the hands section of the forum so more people see them.

For future hands I'd say pick ones that may be more marginal decisions where you really arn't sure of the next move as if I had a flush HU, I'm getting it in too.

Final point, have a look at this post, it's about using hand history convertors which make reading hands much easier and again will help get more replies and feedback:

evenin' mate - where abouts you live in sheffield?
BiGsLiKBuDDaH

Live in Dronfield I still call it Sheffield tho originally from Ecclesfield.

I just played a HUSNG in the guy was fairly passive only raised post flop twice but on the river he massively over bet the pot like 400 with pot size at 120, why would you do that its seems like abit of a newb move to try n look like ur bluffin but actually ur not hopin to get called, i never had anthing worth calling with so.

Is there a better place i should post questions like this??
Brokerstar

Yes either the micros stakes section:

http://tagpoker.myfastforum.org/forum2.php

Or the over all strategy forum:

Hope that helps.
