Help, I'm a fish.I have had bad runs in the past, they aren't fun, but not the end of the world. I've lost my way in the past too, and recovered from it.
Right now I am totally and utterly lost. I am sure I was a better player when I was at the $10s than I am now. I really don't know what has happened to me. I was playing with confidence just a few weeks ago. Now when I play, I feel totally blank.
I know all the things I should be doing. HH reviews etc etc, I don't think they are helping, because I feel so clueless. I don't want to ship HH to people, cos I feel embarrassed that I am playing so poorly.
I really feel like I have lost my way, I want to get back to being a solid player, but I don't know how.

True, might stick a full match on here today, for you all to lol @
I dunno what it is, I mean I played two today so far, and won them both, but I'm not feeling it at all.

Sounds to me like you mainly have a psychology problem.
Several books come to mind:
The books by Alan N. Schoonmaker
- The psychology of poker
- Your best poker friend
- Your worst poker enemy
Those I know and can all recommend... I see he has a new book out, Poker winners are different. I can only imagine it's also worth reading. From the list above, I think your worst poker enemy is probably very usefull for you now....
Taylor - Hilger
- The poker mindset
Fox - Harker
- Why you lose at poker
Again, I have read both, they will be usefull.
Not read, but I think it also has a good part about the mental side of poker and will give you some insight into what is needed to become a fill time poker professional:
Dusty Schmidt
- Treat your poker like a business
Also intresting... Tommy Angelo has done an audio series called "the eightfold path to poker enlightenment". You might find some usefull stuff in there also. (but it is not only about psychology)
Another tip would be to get some coaching. Some coaching that will help you on the mental side of poker.

I would to expect anyone to lol, the feedback you & everyone else gave me was super valuable & I think more people should do it.bI'll take a look if you post it up, obv not as skilled as some on here but a different perspective is often all that is needed.
Everyone goes through bad patches & it can take a lot to come out the other side. I must admit I went all guns blazing (no pun honest) on Jan 1st, hit some brutal variance & that induced tilt/doubts in my game & it crushed me. But with help from Broker & other guys on here I feel great again. Poker can be a lonely place sometimes, but this community is designed to help combat that isolation.

On the mental side of things, Jared Tendler has a book comic out in Apr which should be good & is the top of my purchase list.

I very much doubt that you "have lost it", but I can get that you're "not feeling it".
Haven't read any books about it, so my advice is slightly different.
Take a break. If you're not feeling it, despite results, take a break for a week or two, be w/friends, family, girlfriend/wife, whatever. Travel, don't travel, whatever you feel like it. Just don't play.
Like any job you'd have, saturation is saturation. Get away from it for 1-2 weeks. I'm sure you'll be "feeling it" again and crushing the games (that will still be there, they're always be there) like always.
Anything else, let us know mate.

what everyone esle said, your a very good player mate so i doubt you have lost it. Often if you have other things on your mind then it can effect your play in a negative way also stressing about run bad also effects your play (trust me i've been there).
So to get over this i'd say get some sweats going or better yet send me a HH on skype (or preferrbly a PM on here) and i'll do a video review

I often feel I have lost my way or that I am playing bad
particularly when i lose 5 in a row
but i just drop back a level or got to the deeper and longer format
because i have been playing turbos
and i pick out some vids to watch to reinforce correct play
i love to see a vid of your game or even a hand history posted would be fine
Dont know I you would be interested in my comment tho

Of course I am interested. Don't go thinking I think I am better than everyone else, far from it. I think this thread gives that one away
I have already dropped down a a level from the $50s, to the $30s, so I don't really want to go any lower (not yet anyway)
To be fair, I haven't got any volume in last few days, been so dam I'll all the time, one thing after another. Thursday is always a bad day for me, cos I have my daughter after school, and she lives quite a way, away, so that takes up most of the day. So will probably be Friday before I am back at it now.
I'll get through this, I think I just need to get back to basics. Stop out thinking myself, and smash the fish up, like I used too. My bankroll as taken a bit of a battering, but it's not the end of the world, I am still well rolled.
