Hello....Hello everybody, my name is Neil, I am 35 and a half years old, and I am a nit!!
I have been playing poker recreationally for a couple of years now, mostly micro FR, hence the nit part, but have dabbled with 6max and PLO and badugi. Managed to run a bankroll of nothing up to next to nothing by being a horrible weak tight player, but hey, it works at micro FR. Well it did for me anyway, but now its time for a change.
I found tagpoker quite a while ago actually and loved watching the videos but never got around to actually having much of a go at HUSNG. Rediscovered the site late last year and watched a video where brokerstar was talking a little about his poker background and not being a math guy etc etc and I thought that sounds a bit like me. Maybe I should give this a go and see where it takes me. None of my friends are into poker apart from drunken home games (very fun, not serious!!) so I have decided to take the plunge and join a forum for the first time to find some people to talk poker with. Never done that before either!!
I've played a few games just to get the feel of things and have probably broken even which isn't too bad a start, at least I'm not losing. I seem to be able to figure out how my opponent is playing quite quickly (unless they're really weird!) but the problem I have at the moment is adjusting my play to take advantage of this. I'm sure with lots of study and help I can get better and move up.
I'm starting from almost a $300 bankroll and will be playing $5's for a while to build a bit of confidence. When I make $95 I will buy broker's condensed course, if I lose $50, I will buy the condensed course!! My main goal is to earn more playing poker than I do by working, which shouldn't be too hard considering I earn minimum wage!!
Anyway, I seem to have waffled on for a long time here so I will shut up now!!

hi!
it seems like we are starting from the same spot, except for the fact that i lived from poker the last 2 years and that i wasnt a nit at ringgames 
but overall, we got the same br and we start at the same stakes, so gl!
btw. just sign up at a partner room and pay the course with the rake while playing. thats the way i do it, i think its the best way because you get some practice beside and the villains on merge are really bad.
