Hello poker nerds

Have been browsing this site, looking through the videos, for the last couple of days and figured I'd try to take a more active part in the community.
I have played poker on and off for the last 4 years. Nothing too serious. I chickened out of poker when I builded up to 1k ish, cashed out, and now I'm building up from scratch again. I was getting tired of all the multitabling nits at the 6-max/full ring games, which was the main reason that got me into HU sngs. I'm currently at the 10s, soon going up to the 20s, and have the 50s, at the very least, as my goal.
I'm quite the introvert, kinda theoretical/analytical in my approach to life. I play guitar and study music at a UNI. I enjoy experimenting with human social structures, reading, forum lurking and debating. Currently I'm in a poker focused epoch, as I have been before, and as always, I take it very seriously. I'm beating the 10 dollar games, but not as much as I'd like to - seeing that I feel I overall have a very big edge against the field.. which probably most loosing players feel too.. but I'm very self critical, and trust that my observations of myself are correct.
This is probably enough rambling for now. Nice to be here!

thanks for the warm welcome! I guess you guys have been running good lately Razz oh, and a special thanks to "paris tilton" for wanting to help out, and for making all these great, free, educational videos:)
Oh, and I hope you don't educate too many people, or else the HU field will get considerable tougher :/ meeting a bunch of "you" clones, would be tiresome and costly indeed Razz

Thanks again guys/girls (to be politically correct)!

Edit: Oh, and perhaps I could post a not-belonging question to go in my introductory thread to get it over with? I'll go ahead. If any of you guys have sharkscope, could you give me a rough bankroll estimate for the 20s? My bankroll now is around 600ish. My fulltitlt name is the same as the one in this forum.
BetMagicMoney

A solid bankroll stratagie is,

Move up if you have at least 25 buyins for the next level and move down when you drop below 20 buyins for the stake your playing.

How ever this is just a very broad statement you can defiantly wait till or 30BI's deep or even more, i know a few players here how like to have 30-35BI's and then take a 10BI shot (so they move down at 20BI's)

My only word of worrning is that you don't go for a low amount then 25 and also never have a move down point smaller than 20, as otherwise it will be a big phycolical blow.

As for stake with $600 you could play the $20's if you wanted but there is no reason why you could stick at the tens Smile

BetMagicMoney:
If I should move up, I loose money if I continue playing the 10s don't I? Anyways, I have always been a bankroll nit.. so I think I'll bring it up to 700ish before taking a shot... I also get some extra games Smile that can never be a bad thing:)
Thanks for your input. I thought 30-40 was standard, with 40 being on the very nitty side:)

Thanks for your welcome, Bridgegunner. Have never used skype too much. Maybe I should start:) My audible english isn't all that great though. I have problems expressing myself - my written english is like 10x my speaking capabilities, so I often find myself trying to say a bunch of words I've never uttered before Smile

We could play a couple of games perhaps? How about taking like 5-10x games in a low buy-in sng? I'll make a video recording of all the games and share it with you. Even better, if you make a video recording too, you could send it to me and I can see if I'm able to make a split-screen video showing both our hands and plays (in-synch obviously:)) That video could then be posted here for all to see and open for folks to post some constructive feedback. I think it could be a great learning experience for the both of us:) Hopefully, you are a fulltilt player.

videos playing each other is good however, its not the best thing as you'll both be trying to play an addapptive stratagie. kantor1003 you'll get more out of playing some games recording them and putting those games up, also it would be eithen better to ask someone on skype to look though a entire game HH as people can make better comments abuot it Smile

40BI's is very nitty, but these nothing wrong with being a bankroll nit Smile
YATHINNK

I could never be a bankroll nit, mind you, I've moved up very aggressively. I take shots at deep games at 20BIs and try and force my way in that way. It's thin but if you're good enough it can be done.

40 bis is very nitty? Surprised damn i have 100 and i feel like a very small nit Razz
i enjoy having plenty of bi's because i can always just relax and i tend to tilt / worry abouot the actual money way less but its probably because i come from an MTT sng and MTT background that im used to having 50+ bi swings Razz and having 200 bis on my roll that 100 feels like im almost busto heh

on second post i feel like its needed to be say, itts thin but if youre good enough AND willing to possibly reload it can be done **
YATHINNK

Nahh never needed to reload, just moved down and rebuilt

ah yeah, thats also possible if u can change limits pretty fast, but if i move down up down up i just get depressed Very Happy

im pretty sure u can make it work tho ^^

i was just sayin gpersonally i like having more room and space to breath to not worry bout it too much

kinda funny used to play with 2 buy ins, after losing enough i realised meh i need more buy ins and gradually ive increased the amount of buy ins i play with, heh its kindoff a leak for me, not moving up fast enough

by the time ill be 50 ill play a 12.350 bi brm system HAHA jks
YATHINNK

I take every poker game as the same tbh. What limits I'm playing has never bothered me, it's the same game with the same type of players for the most part. If I play 3 10s then a 20 then a 10 again for example it would really feel no different for me at all.

Then again I'm really emotionally detached from money
fastcolt

im very detached from money at this point, and since ive been running good for 2 months in a row now, im becoming completely losing all relation to money and im not even making that much lol but i still care about my balance, however i only look at it every 14 days or so

i just feel it more of a confrontable feeling if i feel like i cannot go broke no matter how bad i run as long as i stay into a specific level of buy ins for example 20-50s

if im playing a 30$ or a 20$ doesnt change my attitude toward the game much either, but if id only have 100$ in my account id be annoyed if i lost the 30$ not because 30$ is life changing money to me, but because my account would have lost a big % of its 'total stack'

but maybe that also why i dont check balance except for on the 14th and the last of the month Very Happy
