Registered on FTP today and tomorrow going to make 50€ deposit there and start to climb the stairs starting from $1 and $2 games. I've been watching videos and have played ~70 games at microstakes on new finnish site RAY and I'm talkin' about really microstakes (0.11€ and 0.53€ games) and have won 5€, not much but good start for my HUSNG career. The HUD isn't working there so and the software sucks too so I'm movin to FTP to get lots of games. Then I have HEM and sharscope to track my results and can post those here. Just love the software compared to euro sites   And the fact that the game is always on is great too. Played 14 HUsng's and managed to get a little profit, which is great. Though I didn't feel comfortable and found myself in tough spots a lot. I don't really know yet how to play against guys who always bet and raise. It's frustrating to bet first, then get raised, call and miss the flop with my premium hands just to face another bet, I know that they won't hit everytime, but what can I do? Have to watch more videos I also decided to post a graph after every hundred games I play. If you hit well then let them do the betting, take a few seconds and check, let them bet, take another few seconds and call etc. If someone is constantly punishing your limps then limp trap them pre-flop.  Employ a bit of pot control for more marginal hands, a little check raise will get you to showdown cheaper, blocking bets on rivers etc. If you're facing a pretty loose aggro then dont worry about overbetting when you're strong! But there's loads more, better info on brokers vids   FunkMastah Thanks man! Just played a match with some maniac, he went totally nuts when i won my first pot and started pushin all-in every hand. I kept folding (dropped around 1000chips) and then first had KK and called from bb his push and won that pot then few hands later had AA on button and limped and he pushed, lol. Today has been quite a roller coaster, first lost a few games and the won few. I need to be more patient on matches and then they will go my way. bptrippin Patience patience patience! Don't beat yourself up about the losses man. Remember a good winrate is around 60ish% so you've gotta be prepared to lose quite a few   FunkMastah quick update Today I have played only three $2 matches and won all three. Last 11 games, only 1 lost. Feels good. It feels like I've got into villains head on every match now and just waited for my moment to hit them hard. If they have been too tight I've punished them by betting a lot and if they have been loose, I've waited. FunkMastah =   Maybe I'll play more later, but now will spend some time with my wife. FunkMastah Santa says hello and the dancers too   FunkMastah Back to grinds   smooth start, 6 games: 4 x $2, 2 wins, 2 loses cos couldn't beat fish when I had him on 180chips blinds 25/50..he kept winning flips and then crushed my kings with sevens at the end..but that's just part of this. 2 x $5, 2 wins and my giraffe raises his head again. Christmas was super. Looots of good food, snow, F*cking cold weather (-32c) and I was tough and went after sauna to snowblanket to make one beatiful snow angel (and I was ofc NAKED) It was kind of sick, but feeling after that was fantastic. I have played 64 games at FTP now and tryin to get to 100 this year, but doesn't matter if I won't. New year and new HUsng challenge for me. I've just moved to 5's and gonna raip that level on January 2011 And gonna make 10k+ profits on year 2011 Broker's videos have helped me a lot on my game and I'm thinking to support him and me too after I get my FTP BR to somewhere 300$ so I can take the first course. Had hard times over the year with poker tho it was profitable for me and I did pay my weddings and got another dog with those moneys but those ate my roll so much that I couldn't climb as high as I wanted on DON's etc. Lost my interest on DONs and poker and went for a break for almost 2 months. But then I found TagPoker, read few BR threads and decided to join and started learning this. Don't know is this upswing luck or skill? fuck IT, I know I can play and I'm still learning a lot and hopefully U guys are helping me with this. FunkMastah Variance Yesterday and today haven't been perfect for me but I'm hopin' I will beat the 5's in the evening when I'll play more. I've played games against biggest fishes (at least it feels so) in the net but managed to hit my face against their monsters too many times. And when I had the nuts on flop they sucked me out runner runner str8, flush etc... I know it's just variance and I won't let it effect my game. FunkMastah Feels like I can't beat the FTP Today played total 14 matches,10 hungs and 2 shootout (in the second final match i was sucked out by 2 outer on the river, standard... then Aces got crushed by 45o, doesn't matter. and reg matches I think I played well, got chips in as favorite 90% of time when the question was win for me or double up for villain, u guys won't guess if I won. lol there are two matches in which I won $EV 16$ and got credited only 10$ Didn't lose much (only like 5$, but sucks to ruin good day like this. BR is at 116$ now, not willin to move down to 2's, but if I go under 100, I will have to. SHaIT F_UCK and good night. or maybe tit f_uck... I'm confident as chow chow can be, playin great, but somehow they just hit those runner runners etc. FunkMastah BR @ 153$ now. Yesterday played 3 x $20 (cos I was tilting, shame on me) vs same guy. Won 2 of them and got sucked out at one, but I feel good about my game. Today only 1 x $5 match, in which I was crippled to 110 chips after 2 hands when my trip kings found his rivered straight, tho managed to win the match in 27 hands. I also recorded the last of those $20 matches and gonna share a link on Forum Member Video thread, hopefully someone will give a comment too. bptrippin Dangerous playing higher limits to cover your losses dude. Been there and done it and with the help of bad cards or a little cooler, you can easily be in a worse spot. Got a chance to do a leakfinder video with icemanv6 and will try to record it tomorrow so let's hope I will get some tough opponents tomorrow to get my video done. My game has been too variance rich now and today I tightened up a bit and day went pretty well, tho it might have been better if I havent 'had those whiskeys after work. But It's weekend and I decided to give a little reward for myself. But the games that I played yesterday were bit confusing again. I think I play good against slightly winning regs and when comes horrible 100% hand player who bets/overbets every flop and i don't hit any of them, I get frustrated and try to play against with poor hands. I know they won't fold pre to 3-bet, but still I do that sometimes. F*ck me! Patience is needed now. Got my video done to icemanv6 and hopefully I'll get some advice how to play against that type of player. Ok, it's a new day at work first, then after spending some time with my lovely wife I'll be in good mood to crush the games   Cheers! bridgegunner funk watching u go up and down and potentially destroy your br is fun and exciting but i have been there before. when i played the dons i used to go as high as the 50s but i would turbo reregister for them when i lost one. my graph looked like a heart monitor up and down. the one thing u learn is variance sucks and only tilts u more. the key is to play your br level all the time and never waiver. i learned that the hard way going broke at least 6 times on poker stars. i was a sharks dream lol . i took the time focus on one game and push it hard all the time. i can safely say i am a winning player. my advise to u is when u tilt either play a game below your br level lilke the 2's or dont play at all. y would u want to play a game when u arent at your a game? u will only lose and get madder. glad to see u doing leakfinders and getting some feedback. the best players work on there game daily. look me up and skype and i will help u out anytime FunkMastah Thanks bridge! I think I've learned my lesson and I'm staying at 5's till I got 30 BI's for 10's. I've been travelling the easy way tho, never gone broke and before husng's I've been total br nit. I've had 50-100BI's to my level all the time. Now tryin to move up quicker and then get more BI's to my br. At 20's I think i will take 40 BI's br, cos I now for sure that I will play much better when I have decent roll for games I'm playin. I understand that you could have better things to do, in example play for money your own games. Don't know should I laugh or cry.. Ran terrible today. My hands didn't hold and I still tried to beat villains. Maybe I should have quit the games after 1st match where I got money in 82/17 and lost that, cos' that's what the whole session ended to be. Almost got even With EV but the it got away again: I feel sad now, maybe good sleep will heal the wounds. Last session wasn't what I hoped for, but I think it made me grow as poker player again. Knowing that these days will come makes it easier to handle. I think that first suck outs showed the way for last session and made me play out of my A-game too. Varince is part of this but it's more about how you play. If i got sucked out few times I really should take a break and watch a video or take the dogs out or whatever that takes my mind of that hand. One thing I'm glad about yesterday is that I played all the time at my level and didn't jump to 10's or 20's. It's a new day today and I'm willing to take a shot at 5's again with smile on my face. I've reviewed some matches by myself and found that I'm not cbeting enough my top pairs. Try to trap villains by checking behind and let them draw too cheap. then at turn I make 3/4pot bet and villain calls one bet to hit his flush/gutshot/straight on river. Then at river I make one bet and usually call small raise and lose bunch on chips. And I have to find some opening range vs. each player type. I basically raise same hands against any kind of player. adjustments need to be done. Also read imo very good article of HUSnG's and got something out of it too. Have to read it through again today. It's like 12 sheet's of straight talk. Today at work been reviewing my past games more and maybe after work going to play a set and see how it goes. FunkMastah 1st set behind and BR @ $163. Seems like reviewing my HH's was profitable. First 3 games was just ridiculous. first called 3-bet with AhKd, flop As6s4h, villain shoved, snap called and he had KsKh, turn 8s river 2s and he got flush. lol 2nd QQ vs 77 pre AI villain hit 7 on river. standard 3rd single raised pot, flopped T-high flush, went c-c, turn blanco, he min bet, I called, river blanco, he shoved, I snapped and he had A high flush. rest of games went well and got some profit. let's see if I play another set today later. Now the pieces are coming together and I've won few flips etc. Got a good feeling when playing and minor step backs doesn't effect me at all. I've learned to read my opponents better and can adjust on their style better. I've watched a ton of videos and making notes how to play against TP, TAG, CS, LAG etc... Thought my game was ok and when I've reviewed the session, there's just not much I would do different now. I had Icemanv6 sweating me at night too and it was helpful, tho I was pretty card dead and got money in as fav 2/3 times, but first villain rivered two pairs and second he rivered better two pairs. 1/3 was a cooler. Villain was bad player with -10% roi and seemed to spew a lot and Think it was me on bb with T8o he limped 40 and I raised to 165. Flop came TTQ, I cbet 220ish, he called, turn K, I bet 390 and he shoved. I had like 450 behind and snap called to see he turned straight. I laughed a bit and went to sleep.   Ended a day at -2 BI, but overall in good mood. Today gonna take a nap after work, cos 3,5hours of sleep is not enough for me. I had my bankroll around $240 as well and started feeling comfortable at the $5's. So I played a few $10s one some lost some etc. Then I played a fish twice just like you and he spanked me with a little of gods help. However because it took $20 it tilted the hell out of me. Its amazing the emotional impact of losing a high percentage of your bank roll in two games. I know its only four buy ins at $5 but its still over a days work for some, gone in one hour. The lesson for me was to avoid doing this until your bankroll was big enough so that if you lost taking a shot you dont care as much. Your building your bankroll for that 'not caring feeling' which massively helps you play. It was the caring part that gets you that tilts you and ultimately effects your play even when you move down coz your constantly thinking ahhh I wish I hadnt played those two $10s!!! Imagine going  all the back to the $1 buy ins...I bet you wont give a rats ass about losing money or the competition and therefore you play better.... There is no hard and fast for proper bankroll requirements. Its an individual thing and for me $450 is more than enough which is probably too much for you. Yours maybe $320 etc etc. You just know when you have enough in the bank to play confidently. More than you need is definitely better than just enough and too much is costly in time and leads to over protecting that ever so precious role which again may lead to scared play. Have watched Husng.com videos and making more notes on how to adjust vs different type of players. Think I've come better in defining the player types and know faster how to adjust them. Trafic at euro sites is much slower than ftp or ps but the villains make it worth it imo at this point. Tho when I get higher, I must get back to ftp but now feeling great to play at euro sites. First flop he let me see was 3h9sTs, I had 93 and we got it in. He rivered runner runner flush. Second match was bit better villain but he had major leaks in his game. We were 1650-1350 blinds 30-60, I had AKs on bb. He 3x, I snap shoved, he called J8s and flopped flush. Next hand I had AA, shoved and he called 96o and hit str8. Weeeee. I'm writing this post with my phone on my way to my friend's baby shower   Since moving to Euro sites games have been good to me. I Have played only like 30 husng's last week, mostly $10's but few $5's too. I've won ~70% of those but haven't got the great feelings about that. On wednesday I was thinking what do I want from poker and what would be the best way to play the game for me. As it happens, I love playing poker and will continue it prob as long as online poker goes on, but I'm having my first child on june and I know it will effect my games a lot. i believe I can't put 5 hour sessions anymore and that would mean if I play husng's I can' get the volume that I want. Actually been strugling with volume last month also. So on wednesday I decided that I start mixing NL 6-max in my games again. Played my first session 4-tabling NL10 and after 2hours and 1K hands I was running 46bb/100 which was awesomw. After that cash game session I saw that $5 PLO tuornament was starting. Registered in and after playing 2,5hour I was at FT 3rd in chips. Was pretty card dead in FT but managed to steal some pots and then there was 5 players left and I was dealt (I try to remember this HH right, if I don't I'll correct it later) QdQsJd9c and CL limped on sb and I raised pot from bb. Flop came juicy Qh9d2s. We got the chips in and I thought I was in good shape there. Villain shows JsJcTs8h. Turn came Kd and villain got the nuts there and I couldn' hit my outs and finished 5th winning ~$50. Nice boost for my roll tho. On thursday and friday played only 6-max and been crushing those micro stakes and over all been running 2,5K hands now 38bb/100. My session is normally 2hours and if games go well I think I will mostly stick to 6-max games mixing husng's here and there. BR is at $370 now and I'm thinking to take shots to NL20 when I reach $400. I think that 20BI's is enough at my site for micros. So quessing that my husng volume won't reach the goals I made, but won't matter. If my cash games continue running well I think I'll stick to them. I believe I'm able to play 2hour session per day after the baby has born too. In 2hour session I can play 1K hands and only max 8 husng's. I'm also positive that I can play 6 tables again when I get used to playing those again. GL everyone! Just 300 hands 6-max and 2x $10 DoN's and 2x $10 husng's... 6-max = + $13.55 DoN's = + $20 husng's = 1 win 1 lose so overall it was a good day   z1s6arn Funk? Hows tricks? FunkMastah Hey Yo! Long time no see   Haven't played much poker lately, just for fun mostly at weekends while drinking some good whisky and relaxing. I've finished the baby's room now and planning to get myself in to games again. Tho it's only a month or so and I'll have our baby in my arms, but maybe I can play after that too. Only time will show. Will be visiting here too and planning to update my BR thread too again when I get some games going. Good to see there are lot of new guys and girls too at site.
