FTP Turbos $20+

More and more I'm starting to notice that the games at the 20 games plus are full to the brim of players just lining up to play the reg speed games at FTP.

In contrast there is absolutely noone sitting the turbo lobbies at exactly the same game. When I see whats running there is often more turbos running too.

My question is this, with the games at the turbos obviously having much more action than the Reg speeds should I switch over now, to avoid being plunged into the deep end when I reach a point where action could be really few and far between? Or should I wait before switching? Or should I not switch at all?

I know the swings are more, but in reflection to hourly, and the fact that tbh I can actually deal pretty well with swings, is it worth the transition? I have a roll right now of about 1k so what sort of games could I play at the turbo speeds at FT with this sort of money?

I assume that this post will get mixed responses but I am willing to listen to both sides of the argument providing that the reasons for switching/sticking are sound and that there is logic behind it.

Why not sit in a reg speed and play some turbos while you wait for someone to join you?

Best of both worlds Smile

Thats not a bad idea at all, only problem I can forsee is that the games would end up overlapping and I don't have much multitabling experience.

It's not that hard to multi table once you get used to it. One way to do it is to just give each decision 5 seconds before you actually make the play. Also keep in mind that if you have good fundamentals they still apply in the turbos.

well maybe try 50 to 100 or so games in the lower buy-in, $5 or $10, just to get a feel for it ?

true, the only problem I see with that is, I primarily play on a netbook because its ultra portable and its the nuts for one tabling really, which I prefer.

I know eventually Multitabling is the most profitable option but for me I value beating my opponents and becoming great at the game a lot more than making money, so i've never tried multitabling.

Obviously with so many people sitting the reg speeds lobby I might just starting sitting those as they cannot be that good.

Think you need to plan on switching to Pokerstars.  Now would be a good time, they have a reload bonus.  PS's turbos are very close to FTP's regs.  And there is good action up to $100 in there regular speeds.

I have heard a lot of people say that about PokerStars Turbos, but they are quite a bit quicker when you play them.  Still not as fast as the Turbos on Full Tilt obviously.

The only problem I would have with switching to Stars is the fact that the graphics tilt the fack out of me, I find them really, really annoying.

I know thats a soft reason to avoid moving over to stars but it really is v.annoying haha.

if this is the case, your hourly shouldn't be a concern. there's plenty of reg speed games about

I still value the money aspect of it, though. I value beating other players more as I'm pretty competitive, but I'm asking the question cause I do still want to increase the hourly.
sootedninjas

By having a much higher winrate then your hourly will increase. Aside from this the other way to accomplish a higher hourly with just an average winrate is by multi-tabling.

Go http://tiltbuster.com/ and buy the Maximus mod for PS.  It changes the table setup to up and down like FTP.

There are quite a few different tables, and cards to choose from. If you don't like any of those, I have a few mods for Stars, and if you don't like them, you can always just buy some from TiltBusters for not very much money. They aren't that bad when you get used to it on Stars, I actually really like their Waffle Cards.
