i've been running above EV forever EV graphs for HUSNG are pretty poor tbh so i wouldn't even us it as a guideline

There is a good explaination of the EV line on the holdem manager website.
As BBM said, i wouldnt take too much notice of it.

Maybe you have, but you wont forever, providing you don't quite while your ahead type thing.

Why isn't it theoretically possible to always run over EV? Assuming the sample is big enough EV will always converge, but without a sample of millions of games it should be perfectly possibly to run over ev

you have answered your own question, always and forever refers to a number much higher than millions....
I bet there are a lot more players that state they have always run -ev, rather 1 person i know (now) that has always ran over!

I run above over about 3k games (ever so slightly) but there isn't much in it.

Yes it does, the first thing you must do, is go to import tab and direct HEM to your saved hand histories (it has an automatic detect), also make sure your poker client is set to save hand histories to harddrive.

Imo the red line is of use but only of limited use.
It basically just multiplies the number of chips in the pot by your equity percentage at the point the money went in.
A few problems I have with it though:
1. If you get coolered on the river and call a bet - it is assumed to be 0% equity (which is technically correct) but makes your play look worse that it really is.
2. If you lose a 60/40 situation to finish the opponent off for his remaining 250 chips, but then later lose a large pot when you're 40% to win - overall the EV line will be negative for your game making you think you played it badly when really the game should have ended long before.
3. Doesn't really account for fold-equity related plays - just raw hand strength really so not really indicative of whether it was a good play sometimes.
4. If you lose 4 times in a row to a 2-outer - the EV will be more than the amount you can win by winning the game, so for example in a 20 dollar game, it will tell you that you should have won 65 dollars or something like that.
Ultimately it's because it's made for cash games where each hand is like its own mini-tournament.

Over 1000 games on FT and never caught up to red line yet. Last week I won my first all in with less than 12% equity after doing a stop and go with a low pair and HEM says I've won 8 hands all in with 20% equity or less so I can see why.
