Dry Boards

Can a master of post flop play PLEASE expalin to me exactly what Dry Boards exactly means ? Describe the characteristics of a Dry Board and provide example(s) of Dry Boards ?

With that said, What is a Wet Board ?

Thanks in advance......

A dry flop for example is one that's hard to hit and doesn't contain many draw combinations.  For example a Jc 2s 6d is a very dry flop.

A wet flop is the complete opposite where there can be lots more hand combinations that are capable of continuing and an example may be something like 7h 8h 9s.

So in the first example you'll see that there is not much to chase, you either have a hand or you don't. in the second example you can carry on with clearly any pair but also there are lots of draw combinations as any 6 or T have open enders, J has a gut shot plus there are are flush draws as well as big made hands already.

the less draws, the dryer. paired flops are even dryer. so JJ6r is dryer than Q72r as, even though there is no draw on Q72, it's easier for villain to hit a pair. And then JJJ, for example, is the dryest flop as there is no draw possible on it and it is very very difficult for your pre-flop hand to have improved on this flop.

That what I thought. But I have seen other videos describing for example, As 8d 8c as a dry board too.

edit: I made this comment I guess while @kierk was posting his. Smile

so paired flops are even dryer because ...... of card removal. Since there are only 2 cards left, in this example J, it is unlikely that villain has one of the jacks. correct ?

And if I was holding one of the jacks it is safe to say that I can slow play this board and let the opponent bluff on a dry board.

1) yes, and that there isn't a 3rd unique card on the flop that your opp. can pair up with

2) if you have one of the J's you're very likely to be ahead and your opponent is unlikely to have one. as for the rest of the question, "it depends"
