DanielDG's €30 HuSNGs and upwards.

Hey Everyone, some of you probably saw my previous thread where I turned €100 into just short of €1,700 playing 5,10 and 20 Euro Husng's. Well shortly after new Years I played €30's and it was going rather well, however my HEM stopped working, I lost my results and decided to give HEM2 a shot - It's O.K. I withdrew some money, making my balance exactly €1,500 and I am continueing to play 30's and I shall move up to the 50's as soon as I reach €2,500, which I hope it shall be sometime at the end of this month or the start of the next.

I need to withdraw some money each month as I need to pay back some debts I owe my mother Smile, however I do not reckon this shouldn't be a problem. I shall withdraw anything I make, capped at €500 at the end of each month starting in February, the rest will be used to keep building my roll.

This year I also hope to reach ATLEAST the €100 HUSNG's on pokerstars.fr and maintain a respectable winrate and ROI, I hope atleast 5%.

Another Yearly goal is to reach supernova 100,000VPPss, where I shall receive around €4,005 in bonus at the end of the year. If things do go better than planned then I shall push for 200,000VPPs which would earn me €10,005 in bonus.

I shall play whenever I can, with atleast 450-500 games per month, and increase my volume as months go by.

I got a bit lazy in my previous thread and stopped posting, however I really do want to update my progress atleast weekly with graphs and some hands.

Soooo... goodluck to me and goodluck to everybody else

Dan. Smile

DanielDG

Hey guys, Thank you foremost for your warm wishes. This week went well however the volume was woeful. 71 games.

Graph is in Dollars. Game 52 is a €1 Husng, wanted to see what they are like. Lol

Was hoping to hit Platinum star this month however that will have to wait I guess till next. Another thing that bothers me is the Luck Adjusted Winnings line in HEM 2, it shows it wrong, for example I had a game where in the second hand I got it all in on the flop as the chip leader with AA with 67% equity. HEM2 shows the equity going downhill. Or another example is the red line showing me making +200Dollars in equity at a 30 euro game where I lost. Bizzare

BR: €2,054.08

$3,000 on SS at Husng's, happy with this milestone Smile

Take care, cya all on Tuesday Smile
DanielDG

So I had to withdraw some money, leaving me with 1500, took a 3 day break, definitely feel better. I lost around 150 playing 30 s mainly due to me playing bad but I don't feel tilted at all. I might play some more when I get back from work. Nevertheless good luck all.
Br is 1350 around

BR is at 1,300 cannot seem to run well, also get the feeling I am being pushed around quite a bit sometimes, most of my plays don't work out. -50 today so far, 110 under ev.

BR 1343, played around 30 games today, got sucked out on a few times and just felt so card dead and lost a lot of the time.

Hey z1 Smile, I know what you mean, but it wasn't as bad, I also phrased it wrong, what I meant was that I felt pretty lost.
DanielDG

first game today, i chip some french fucker down to 500 chips, get it in with AK preflop vs his A5, he wins, then chip him down, AJ vs his 106, he wins, then my 77 vs his A7 he wins, then my AQ vs his KQ, he wins, and to finish it off when i have 800 chips 8 bb's JK vs his A2, he wins. God this game took so much energy out of me. -30 euros, 76 euros under EV.
DanielDG

Went 5-3 at the 30's and took a break and saw a fish sitting so insta-sat him not realising its a 50 hyper, won that aswell + 86 today, need to go work. BR is at 1,429

Im just sick of this break even stretch, I am -€447 this month and €389 under ev, a lot of the time i get it in as a 60-70% fav. and have ended being sucked out on. Just frustrating. BR keeps fluctuating between 1,300 and 1,500. ATM BR is €1,384
doodiewiz

Hey man, just keep going it will turn around as long as you're playing good. I'm about a $1000 below ev. The suckouts just keep rolling off regardless and i play reg speeds mainly...i recently lost 14 flips in a row...it'll turn around...tbh this is the hardest part of poker for me and I'm just trying to concentrate on playing good poker Smile
DanielDG

Hey doodiewiz, thanks for your reply. I just question myself sometimes am I actually playing winning poker and when I have a big upswing I also question whether I'm just running hot. I don't know.
doodiewiz

Hey, yep join the club. I think it's a good/healthy attitude to have because I think it's good to keep a constant check on your game. One of my recent problems I reckon is playing a more high variance style then I used to which means I get into flip situations more often - I know this is more of a necessary evil though in turbos I guess. Maybe post a game mate or there are some coaches you could pay. Not much more then a couple of buyins to take a look for you if you're really worried. TBH from what you've said it just sounds like variance and I think the more games we play the more experienced we become and these break-even/downswing stretches just become part of the game and bother us less. I'm hoping anyway!!
DanielDG

I just can't take it anymore, every god damn game I'm getting it in as favourate and they end up either doubling up by hitting then winning the game or me losing it right there.
Todays All in's:
AA vs 45 on K74
AKo vs TT pf, same game.
K9o vs K8o, split pot
AA vs T6o on 6J8r
AQs vs 44 pf.
A5o vs 93s pf.
A9s vs K9o pf.

All lost apart from the K9 vs K8 which split.

BR stands at 1,232 Euros, I am - 650e this month and 600e under ev. Sorry about moaning, I'm sure many of you go through worse, but its just so damn frustrating.
z1s6arn

If you can 'learn' to stay calm under this pressure this will decide for you whether or not you will be able to make a successful career out of poker. The degree to which you can remain emotionally unattached and calm and rational will 'directly' dictate your success over the long term.

Practice.

DanielDG

Thanks Shaun, I really do want to try, however its hard when it keeps happening all the time and i mean every or every 2nd game. BR is at around €1270, I will drop back down to the 20's maybe even the 10's to regroup my confidence and hopefully start running well.

Dan
DanielDG

I am also wondering whether I should play hypers instead, but I don't know. A lot of stuff going through head lately.
DanielDG

February was a losing month, 354 games, -519.52e 445.15e under ev. Nevertheless, 1 more shift today at work and 11 days off! Feels great, havent taken a holiday/time off in half a year. I am planning to grind 5-8 Hours per day for about 8-9 of these days, starting at the 20e's again due to withdrawal's, BR is at 1,073.60. I shall try not be results orientated and try play my A-game throughout the time I am playing. I will be setting a schedule based upon my first day grind. Hopefully I can run well and reach €1,500 quite early and start the 30e's. I will update my progress daily. I will try to avoid drifting off during sessions ie. searching the internet etc. (Damnit to the person that posted about Reddit!) I am doing this, as I really want to see if I got what it takes to successfully grind consequetive hours as I would like to go part time at work in the near future and use poker as a side income, although I would only need to be withdrawing around 600e p/m to make this possible. So now I shall go take a nap, wake up for work, and tomorrow I shall begin my grind. Best of luck to all! Take care.

Best of luck playing on your break. Remember to take lots of breaks and stay as fresh as you can at the tables!!  Very Happy
DanielDG

After playing for 11 days, (didnt play much, a lot to do out of poker) I was up 500e or so after my downswing, I managed to lose it ALL in 2 hours today, I didn't win 1 flip, my opponents hit 3 outers preflop and with even 1 card to come eg, JQ vs JT All in on turn on J9xx. I am tilted, and I also had to withdraw 500e, this leaves me with 519e left on my account, I don't know if poker is for me, is it worth all this stress etc?

Nevertheless goodluck all.
cdm

relax homeboy - we've all been there.

you need to reset and get your confidence back.  i think you're burning yourself out, champ.  it sounds like you're putting in serious time in work then doing these mad poker sessions & relying on making X amount of money in X amount of time - something i've been prone to doing in the past.

i don't feel like the best person to give you advice right now since i've been wrestling with my concentration/tilt issues... but losing almost 17 buyins (presume it was 30s) in 2 hours is an incredible loss & i don't mean to point the finger but it sounds like you might have been sucked out on a few times and then tilted - sometimes getting it in ahead, sometimes flipping and more than likely getting it in slightly-far behind...

the higher the % of your BR you're playing with the more stress you incur from a loss.  i'd recommend dropping RIGHT down and regaining some confidence in yourself.  if you're not having fun it's because you're making a negative mental association with playing (a type of tilt) and you push this off for the first game or two but then when you lose with AJ v A5 or even something like PP vs AK or even AKvQJ it all comes crashing down and you go 'oh here we go again'.  you're dragging days/weeks/months of tilt around with you to every session and when you get fucked once twice OR THRICE you snap and go 'ffs not again' and probably stop playing your A-game.

watch some videos.

seriously.

watch phmerc or hokiegreg or the vids on this site.  listen to people rationalise the game and describe why they're doing what they're doing.  fall in love with that aspect of the game again - leveling players, letting them bluffing off their stacks, reshoving rivers... all the cool shit that you can do in poker not just the 'losing flips' part.  also, since when is poker all about flips?  are you playing hyper or something?  exploit the postflop edge you have over these jabronis and stop snap shoving 25+bbs deep just because you have Ax and then freaking out when some guy hits with KJo.

also, last time i checked you hadn't set up that HUD properly either.  the stats i'm using are:

raise/limp/limp-call/limp reraise
call/punish limp/3bet/4bet
cbet flop/cbet turn/cbet riv
call cbet flop/call cbet turn/ call cbet riv
checkraise flop/checktraise turn/checkraise river/donk flop

customise that shit!  it's your HUD, your game.  some of the stats weren't working - get in there and put in your own stats and learn how to use them and what they mean and how they can affect your perception of a player.  you're running bad but that doesn't mean you tap out or quit.  you need to fall in love with poker again.

this is tough love danny.  i'm sick and tired of you acting like you're not a fucking champion.  i'll be fucked in public if you quit poker over a downswing.  stop moaning about your graph, turn that shit off and play each INDIVIDUAL HAND AT A TIME.  don't think about last week. don't think about how you owned him for 50 hands and then he sucked out in an endgame flip and now the stacks are even.  think about the current hand you're playing.  play a consistent range.  identify your opponents tendencies.  review your sessions.  get coaching.  do what you need to do but don't quit like a bitch just because poker is stressing you out.  incidentally, poker isn't stressing you out - this high variance flipping with french donks is.  change it up a bit bro.

this is what the evil french + bad variance is trying to do to you:

Anyways, I am back, tomorrow that is... There are numerous things I need to change in my life, not only poker related.
1) I have become lethargic and lazy, apart from going work, I am only spending time infront of my PC, running necessary erands and playing my PS3, some type of physical activity needs to be incorporated.
2) I need to smoke less cigarettes, smoking 20-25 per day, I have recently got e-cigarettes so I can smoke those bad boys and cut down on the real thing.
3) I have been getting MCd's drive through on a daily basis and sometimes I get the breakfast after my night shift on the way home, and I honestly don't even like the breakfast anymore, literally very little variety after eating a large amount of times.
And now we get to poker: 4) I shall try, and I really mean try to understand my tilt, what causes it, and how to combat it.
5) Work on my game and go through games, try pick up leaks, and mainly with z1 and hopefully we can crush our French neighbors.
6) Put in volume, and hopefully after taking 2 weeks off poker, I can grind a large amount of games but most importantly find that love that I had for poker at the beginning of the challenge.

Goodluck all!
DanielDG

Slowly getting back into poker, it feels as if I am starting from fresh, its good as I have I believe reset my mental status and no longer affected by previous bad runs, variance and tilt. I can finally think through a whole game, take detailed notes and take my time without any feeling of rush, tilt and pressure. Thus a nearly 2 week break from heavy grinding has helped. The bad part of this is that I am only able to play less games, however I am slowly adding more daily and I hope to reach playing atleast 15 games on days that I have work, and atleast 30 games per day on days that I have off. This would give me atleast 540 games per month +. But it shall come in time.

Nice and Rare hand Smile:

Well done mate, really good stuff here!
DanielDG

Wow, lol didn't even notice, well after running hot and playing well this month its nice. And thanks for your support guys!
DanielDG

Ok shit got real, due to personal reasons and the need to pay for a vast amount of things this month I have withdraw €1,000. That left me with €99 left in my poker account. I have to regrind it back up again.
Over the last few months I have been withdrawing between €500-1,000 per month and this has slowly deteriorated my bankroll and I sort of regret doing that. So for the next few months I plan on not withdrawing any amount from the poker account and if I have to, live like a true communist, surviving off pot noodles.
I will play with an aggressive bankroll guideline but stick to it strictly;
€100-€300 : €10's
€300-€750 : €20's
€750-€1,500 : €30's
€1,500 : €50's shall be my goal.
I don't think with so little buy ins I can afford many shots at a higher level if its running bad, so I will move down after losing 3 buy-ins if it happens.

Best of luck everybody!
