card dead vs LAG/maniacthroughout the years i play poker i learned how to deal with variance.
ive learned to control my emotions and not getting tilted by the different types of variance - coolers, suckouts, card dead......
but there was always one thing that always managed to affect me to some degree and that is being totally card dead against an opponent that is just terrorizing you.
last night i played vs LAG and was completely card dead and this is where the problem starts.
against this type of opponent i generally try to see flop as cheap as possible and patiently wait for a decent hand, but last night the best hand i could get was a at best a raggy ace not to mention that i flooped a pair only twice and both of those time they were second or third pair on wet boards and villain was just going crazy.
now my question - is there any way to adjust to this situation when you card dead and at the same time facing a very loose and aggressive opponent where you know that the basic game plan against him is primarily based on your cards?
or i just have to suck it up, realize that i was been extremely unlucky to face this kind of opponent when card dead and just move on ?

notthing you can do about the cards that you pick up
but i guess in general, pick spots where you think he range is particularly weak and put pressure on him, and im guessing you have a pretty nitty image and hes even more likely to give you credit

I've played a lot of aggros lately who are constantly raising, 3betting, reraising and when you're card dead it just sucks. I've lost count of the number of times I've told myself to stop bluffing tards that don't fold. I just nit it up now in level 1 blinds if I see that he's just spamming raises. Using my tight image to hopefully make him fold later.
I've noticed a lot of these aggro droolers calm right down after losing a big pot. They suddenly become passive limping folding machines. It's as if they wanted the game over quick, splashing chips around, now realised they've took a hit and plan A is out of the window.
I play shootouts and 9 times out of 10 the other game is over quickly. I'll click the last hand history on the other table and normally see some retarded stack offs. Mind boggling stuff. Mainly Russians. I shake my head every time I play them. I had one call 2 streets then reraise the river on me the other night, i reraised back, he called with 6 high. What is it with them never using the fold button?
