BPT round two : $2's - $50'sI joined Tagpoker late last year and took Brokers' condensed course and found it improved my game immensely. I started a BR thread soon after but then had a good 4 or 5 months worth of life run bad so poker kind of went back to being a recreational thing.
Well life returned to normal now and the hunger to learn and build a decent roll is back so I thought it's about time I made another one of these to keep me motivated  Starting with a BR of $65 on FTP with RB and currently playing the $2's. BR management will be 20BI including rake (at least for the $5's - $10's)
SS has missed all of this weekends games this weekend which has pissed me off cos i like to look at graphs and mine's looking small  So I might look at investing in HEM ASAP. Have just downloaded a 15 day trial.
Things to work on
Patience - I've always considered myself quite patient when it comes to poker and I guess in a sense I am. I can easily wait for good hands without feeling the need to play my junk against a station. The last couple of weeks though I've realised that waiting on the right starting hands isn't even half the issue. I need to be more patient when it comes to giving marginal spots up against weak opposition and realise that there will be better spots to smash them, being patient when it comes to strong hands getting outflopped, or counterfeited on the river etc.. I seem to go want to finish the game ASAP when I take a 2 - 1 lead so when I'm in that spot I'll try and remember that it only takes one mistake for the tables to turn and all the hard work to be undone. When I have villain at around 7-800 chips I've noticed time and time again I take a flip or make a really marginal call to put him right back in it. So on the whole more patience is needed throughout the game, pre and post flop. And when I have villain halfstacked remembering the game's not over 'till it's over is a must!
Study
Again this is something that I thought I was doing right on my first go, but I was far from it! So this time around I've set aside a few hours on a Sunday eve when I'm normally free to self leakfind and watch a few videos. And not just watch videos, really watch them, note-take, think about similar spots I've been in and try and find the spots that I'm doing right now and the spots I'm making mistakes in. Post hands in the forum and reach out and ship/receive HH from other members.
Recognise the wrong times to play
I play a fair bit when I'm free at the weekend which is something that needs to stop! My daughter comes to stay with me at the weekends and I'll normally play after she's in bed or when we're just chilling out - so I'm either tired after a day out or I've got a lot of distraction with her toys, pestering and T.V (Miley Cyrus - borderline but whatever!  )
Those are the main things that need work atm and I'll post more here as and when I spot them, any advice welcome guys I'll try and update this every fornightish!
