Adjusting to deepstacks

I've just switched to DS on fulltilt as i like the idea of better ROI and i'm not obsessed with volume. I think this format will suit me better. Allready lost some big hands but come back to win the game where as in a reg speed i'd no doubt be shouting disgusting things at the laptop and maybe tilt the next buy-in away  Evil or Very Mad

So are there any adjustments i should be making?? never played DS before yesterday

Yeh patience is often very overlooked....

I hate deepstacks. Your ROI will be better but your still going to lose some games and tbf they're gonna sting a lot more considering you just spent 30 minutes playing a mong'ole who just ran you over when he was hitting good.

Better ROI, yeah, but the hourly is terrible. Obvz if you have the time and you enjoy playing them then go for it but imo they take so long it's almost painful.

avg length is a little less than 20 mins, not 30 mins

i also dont agree that your hourly sucks or is worse than in reg speeds/turbos. it certainly can be pretty sucky once you play $200s+ and cant get a game going but for <$100 you can def achieve a better hourly than in reg speeds/turbos imo

Guess i'll give it hundre or so games and see which i prefer. What's a good roi to aim for in these? If id be happy with 10% in reg speed

go for 20-25%

lol borg.

15% or higher i'd say is really good for deepstacks over a nice amount of games.

Playing what level ? I aim for 15% at reg speeds  Confused

Adjustments.

Be prepared to play games that take over an hour sometimes. As Borg said it evens out to around 20 mins, cos you still get some games that end early too. Still be prepared to play for an hour and cry when you lose to a two outer  Very Happy

SC and Gappers and any hand that can flop straights and flushes are far more valuable in DS games, because your implied odds are bigger.

You have more room to make marginal river calls (providing they are based on reads and are profitable) As you have more chips to play with)

You need to have a tight stacking off pre flop range. Still based on who you are playing obv, but it needs toning down, This is obviously is based on when the effective stacks are still large.

You get more time to get post flop reads, use them wisely, and crush them hard.

Playing the 5's atm Blazing.

Oh yes i loved spending around 40 minutes with a TAG just to get it in 10s VS 9's.....you know what the flop was  Evil or Very Mad

Yea i like the idea of not feeling rushed when it comes to defining player type and getting reads

Great advice dude thanks   Very Happy

If you can run at 10% ROI in reg speeds then I imagine 20% in deeps is doable, in fact I know it is.

You have all the time in the world to climb inside your opponents head and really get to know how they are playing inside out!!  Twisted Evil
