Adaptions in Turbo/Superturbo versus regular HU SNG'sHi quy's!
A few weeks ago I decided to take a (new) serious attempt to specialize myself in HU SNG's. I made a BR scheme for move up/down and
also the Volume i am aiming to play: in the beginning avg 25 games/day or 750/month. The main reason for this volume is the attractive RB when you move up. Over 60% finally when reaching the 50/100$ SNG's. Ideally this would mean around 50-75K $ RB/year. Then you need an ROI of around 2% to have a nice income.
Unfortunately the regular speed games take to much time to accomplish this kind of volume without playing poker all day. For me 5-6h play per day would be optimal. This means I have to switch to Turbo and perhaps Superturbo games.
Because most of the video's and postings are discussing regular and deep stack games, I was wondering which kind of adaptions should be made for playing the Turbo's and superturbo's. Specially against very aggressive playertypes I guess the small ball strategy isn't optimal anymore.
Are there players out here having alot of experience playing these games, and want to tell what kind of adaptions/strategy they are use?
kind regards,

Hey Dutchie,
I have just started working my way through these Hypers on PS (same as SuperTurbos i believe).
Having a strong endgame is crucial. You dont want to miss too many, if any, spots during this part of the game. I am sure i can work through this, and improve my game to become more consistant. I have just working with a knowledgable guy on this concept, so happy to share the experience if you decide to go that way.
Variance is a bitch, so be warned. You will constantly get it in ahead, sometimes miles ahead, only to see the suckout gods rear their heads, and have you screaming at the donkey opponent for having his T2o spike a 2 on the River
Good luck with it all, and if you take up the Hypers, be prepared to leave your tilting part of your brain at the lobby.

broker is currently working though the hypers (what stars calls super turbos) and im assuming when he's happy with his play he'll release vids etc!
As regards to adapting i would say that turbos are very similar to regs and deeps in approach as you have room postflop to play etc however that asside i would just start minraising every hand (minus like bottom 5% junk etc) and then adapt very similar to how you would in a reg speed (in that regard all the vids on the site are very useful still )
hope that helps

Yes I'm doing a lot of work on these at the moment and finding them a little testing lol.
I don't want to go into too much detail as to the adjustments I'm making as i wouldn't want to give bad advice ha ha.
But in all seriousness you are still facing player types and you do need a water tight end game. There should still not be a one size fits all strategy employed but timing tells and bet patterns become super important.
Will let you know more when I don't feel like such a hyper turbo fish!!!

I want to actually yes.
But I haven't played them in ages. I did a lot of work on them, did about 6 sessions with Cog Dis, spoke to a few guys in here that played them, thought about a few things I noticed that I could get away with etc.
But in truth, I just never really enjoyed them, in fact I'd go as far as to say I almost hated them lol
I can see this is where the future is for volume in HUSNG's but I just enjoyed deeper stacked poker.
I may go back to these shortly though with a little help from a ST friend or two

@Broker:As I think I said before it's probably good to get into since it's the main thing low stakes players can do on merge. Us americans... lol
They are pretty cool but it's definitely very fast and so many suckouts which is very annoying. Because I don't have a solid win rate just yet I always end up questioning my game and such.
One thing I think helped me a lot is that tight agressive players, and most players in general, once you get down to say 10bbs or so, call wayyy too tight. So you can shove a bunch of hands.
Some videos I watch say to just shove nash once you get to 13bbs or so because most people are going to be calling tighter than nash anyways. There's plenty of people I go against who pretty much blind themselves out by folding to my shoves.
@BetMagicMoney
One thing I think that can be generalized at the low stakes STs is that I think people play wayy too loose OOP and they call min raises over and over so I usually prefer limping with weaker hands. Just what i've noticed in my games

yeah i don't usually start playing nash till i'm down to 8/9 BBs. I like a minraising game plus limping game. I only usually limp when they start getting shovey/3 bet happy. Another thing you can do is if they're shoving a lot start limping hands like j10, q10, qj etc that can call a limp raise and either raising hands you're willing to call a shove with and folding some trash...i still mix it up a bit though limp or raise some trash depending on game flow...they're a bit deeper on merge arent they? Like 30bbs or something?

So if I got someone to help out with some Merge Super turbo vids and put something together?
Ok I'll speak to a couple of guys I know that play super turbos. You have to put such sick volume in that I don't know if I'll play a hell of a lot but I know a few guys that I may be able to get making some vids for you all.

I would love to see some vids on here. Husng.com has some but still not that many, They are on full tilt mostly but they have a few for merge.
yeah it's 30bbs. 1500 starting stacks and 25/50 blinds. double every 2 minutes? it might be 3, i don't remember off the top of my head.
