$0-$500 (or $50-$550)Hey all,
I recently started playing HUSNG's and have been doing quite well. I started with the $2+0.20 and after consistently winning a few of those immediately jumped to the $5+0.40. As you can see below, I lost a couple, and had to go back to the $2 SNG's for a while. Well, after an RoI of 39% over 30 tournaments I decided to try my luck at the $5 tables again. I started playing the $5+0.25 Turbo's because the rake is a little more appealing and I don't mind the blinds increasing every 5 minutes. Anyways, I plan to play the $5 games until my bankroll is 25 buy-ins for the next level, and hope to hit the $550 mark sometime within the next couple months. From there, I will withdrawal my initial $50 deposit and attempt to roll $500 up to $5,000. We will see how things go.

Well, here is my first update. I have not had much time to play because of work, etc. but I am now at 100 tournaments split between 2, 3, 5, 10, and 11 dollar games. I have won $78.35 with an RoI of 16.40 and an hourly rate of $4.24. As you can see, I had a fairly large downswing and I'm not sure exactly why, perhaps it was "bad luck", or maybe a combination of bad luck & bad play. Anyways, I've been working on my leaks and hope to see smaller downswings in the future.
Tournaments Played: 100
Return on Investment: 16.40%
Total Buy-Ins: $477.65
Hours Played: 18.50
Days Played: 14
Net Won: $78.35
Hourly Rate: $4.24

So far so good.
With regards to your 'large downswing' you may not of done anything wrong at all to lose those games as variance is just part and parcel in poker.
It is likely that there is still plenty of room for improvement which means you can just get stronger and stronger as a player.
Just so you know, that is not a huge downswing. I only say that so when you eventually do have a down swing it wont seem as shocking (I say that, it always seems shocking at the time).
Keep us posted with how you get on though, I love seeing these graphs grow!!

Thanks for the support!! I am determined to build a large bankroll and make a career out of this game. I look forward to working with you in the near future. I will try to post an update on my bankroll once a week, and my goal is to hit $500 by the end of October, playing approximately 10 hours/week.

Good morning tag poker!! I'm here with my 3rd update as I have now played 150 tournaments. My RoI has improved slightly, and I jumped up to the $11.50 SnG's 3 games ago and have not yet lost. I think I may be saying goodbye to the $5.25's. Oh, and I might also mention that my shark scope shows a big loss (-$26.25) near the beginning, and the reason I am not including it with my graph and stats is that it does not really show an accurate representation of my RoI or $/hr. I will include it again when I am regularly playing the $26.25 games.
Tournaments Played: 150
Return on Investment: 19.16%
Total Buy-Ins: $756.95
Hours Played: 27.27
Days Played: 17
Net Won: $145.05
Hourly Rate: $5.32

Good evening tag poker! So I'm back with another update and I have to say I am not happy about how the past couple days have gone. I have played a lot of poker this weekend in hopes of building my bankroll even higher. I did not know that I would blow everything I've won. I am in the black at the moment, but just barely. I lost nearly $200 in the past 2 days of playing. I am going to be attaching 2 graphs, since I've started HUSNG's and this past weekend. All I can really ask myself is "...the f*ck?". I mean really, I don't know what happened but I definitely don't feel like this is just a typical downswing. I will be taking a break for a few days and when I come back I will be starting at the $5.25 SNGs again for at least 100 more games until I jump back up to the $11.50's.

Breaks are good when you're frustrated with the game. Keep at it and you'll turn it around! Watch some poker vids during your off-time too, I find they remind me of things I forget to employ when I'm frustrated.

Yeah, I've been doing just that. I watched a couple of brokerstar's older leakfinder videos with some of his early students and it just reminded me that I had been going back to my old ways. I tend to play over-aggressively and call more often than I should against opponents that I shouldn't. Also, I'm not sure if it's coincidence or not but I tend to play better with no distractions. I've tried focusing on poker with cartoons and a loud toddler in the background, but I think my best bet is to spend that time analyzing my game and studying, and spend my time actually playing when I can focus 110%.

So I'm back with another update. I have played 50 $5.25 HUSNGs over the past week and I have been breaking even. I have to say it is much better than the epic downswing I went on last weekend, however, I am still not happy about the results. Slowly but surely, I'll figure this game out.

With the downswing, how many of those games have you gone over and reviewed. Maybe post some games here, and there might be spots you are missing, or there could be other spots where there could be a better play.
Someone else mentioned on another thread, but go through your games when you were winning, and see what you were doing right, then look over the later games.
Feel free to ship some HH to look at to.
