Hey guys.

Decided to offer a bit of free coaching, decided I’m going to offer a leakfinder, 2 live sessions, and 2 HH reviews, or something similar.

Just post a little background about yourself, where you’re from and all that stuff, what limits you play, and I’ll pick some people and organise some sessions. I will record them all and post them up in the thread for the guys who miss out (if there is any).

Only thing I ask is after the session you write me a review, stating what I did well, what I could improve upon, if you would recommend or purchase my coaching, that type of stuff.

Thanks for doing this. I've been on this site for over a year and have pretty much got better at poker through thinking about hands myself (and obv making/reading posts on forums).

I play the 30s turbos atm, and am looking to move up in the near future- but have no experience of playing vs regs at all (something I'm looking to improve).

If I had any spare time these days I'd probably do the odd bit here and there but between paying students, playing from time to time, promoting the site (notice the forum getting a bit busier the last couple of weeks?) I now leave more of the free work to all of the other great players that have matured here.

There are so many great minds here now that are all still so willing to help, I just love seeing this place go from strength to strength.

i would certainly be interested in learning more from you. I play the lowest stakes at the moment and am focussing on the course material again after breaking even (ca 300 games played, 1.5$). I am from Belgium.

I think I write this on the review, but I'd recommend putting the HH into a replayer, and putting the word document on half your screen (or a second monitor), the replayer on the other half, and clicking through and thinking about what you'd do first.

only seen 5-10mins or so of the vid but i dont think you explain reasonings well some of the time. a couple of examples off the top of my head is the small/big 3b sizings and why each works (i disagree w/the jj, but kind of irrelevent, heh) and also why the low flop was good to donk on w/j9 and why if you're called it's a good idea to barrell off.

also, dont wanna be a massive critic, but def disagree with the idea of no good barrell cards w/the A5ss, we have 3 backdoor draws and Ahi. I think folding is pretty horrible.

Thanks for the feedback. I will work on trying to explain my thought process more in future sessions/HH reviews/leakfinders.

The 3bet sizings/reasoning and stuff are in that HH review just posted above, with ranges put up in image form and everything if anyone is interested.

The reason donking and barrelling off is good (if anyone is wondering) is that villains range is capped when he calls, as he raises all of his top pair/2pair/sets/overpairs on the flop, and most turn cards significantly decrease his hands equity/hand strength, and unless he improves will almost always fold to 2-3 barrels.

On the A5, I definitely do agree that we can c/c, but not c/r IMO.

BTW, at 57mins when I said I would 3bet bluff these hands, I didn't mean T3s like was on screen, I opened up pokerstove where I wasn't recording and showed hands like 74s, 65s, 95s.

'Hey.

Just a quick review of our session.

Firstly I must apologise for sounding like a complete mong, horrible accent, not helped by a chest infection, and the fact the session ran from 2am till almost 3.30 in the morning.

The games were chose completely at random, they were just HH I found lying around on a memory stick, so there was no cherry picking. I think I played "ok" in all but the last game, which I was actually quite horrified at some of my play, but whatever, that's the point of a review right?

The session for me was real good, Jakester is so keen, I don't think I have ever spoken to anyone so enthusastic about anything, let alone poker. Very friendly attitude, I never felt like I was being made to feel dumb (even tho some of the play may have warranted it!)

Everything Jakester said to me made sense, I think on reflection if I could make one adjustment to the sessions, it would be to slow it down a bit. This is partly down to me not jumping in and asking questions more so I would say, and I do have a fair bit of experience, so I did understand quite quickly what he was trying to say, but all the same, that is the only thing I would say looking back, could be adjusted in future.

Finally, to anyone learning the game, I would say watch this video, it can only help you. I'm not trying to say I'm a great player, I think most people on here know me better than that, but I am a winning player, and watching a winning players game being critiqued can only help you in my opinion.

Also, nice to see some of the better players offering advice on here too, Borg in this thread, and Kierk in the other one.

hey I just wanted to say I watched the Blazing vid with interest and
I think Jakes review is the best he has done so far

it was interesting to see Borg putting in comment in the start how did that happen

overall a good job and Blazing I think you could have selected one of your more recent games especially if you have changed some of your game play I looked you up on SS and you got a 78 ability so you must be pretty good player overall
I wonder how you will go with all the 3bets and stuff in the future ?

and look after those kids always first thing for me My Sam has just turned 5 and is a bit full of himself he is the last of 7 not all to one wife tho

as for poker it is not my income or livelihood but I would like to be able to make it earn me more than the marginal advances i have been making in the past

I am trying to play more slowly in these middling hands that could see me make more when i am careful and not shoving the turn with pairs and draws
i have been letting more hands get to the river , and sometimes I am surprised at what some are willing to call river bets with

I think betting strong hand all the way is pretty good play because so many just dont believe me

I do bet nearly every hand on flop and i am now playing quite a bit of 3bets into mygame and even call some with Q9 off

interesting stuff I will keep at it you never know i might get better yet
it seems to me the only time i lose a lot is when the variance goes against me quite a bit other than that I have made good wins , so if i can limit the mistakes on the turn river it may help me stay flat when the variance against me as opposed to losing when it against me

as for full tilt i think it was way softer than Stars ever was
and even I made a profit there
not a big one tho

blsmur a lot of the stuff I'm trying to work into blazings game won't work for you yet, as he is more experienced so we're trying to open his game up a bit, which is also more applicable as he's soon to be playing midstakes and stuff (only reason he isn't is bankroll).

Regarding the A8 hand, I think it's best to c/c turn and c/r river all in after rewatching because villain's bluff range is very thin, and he'll probs go for a 3rd street with 9x that may fold to a turn c/r. I was incredibly tired when I recorded this but it seems ok, let me know what you guys think.

Hey, so some high stakes baller came and sat me at the 30's and crushed my soul, which turned out to be lold0nkament who then kindly did a spot of coaching for me in the form of a leakfinder. I think it would be fair to say one of Lold0nkament's areas of expertise is playing regs, ranges, 3 betting and picking nasty spots to barrell off and putting villian under pressure. He has a practical approach to coaching and good thought process, which he explains well and clearly. Was really pleased with the leakfinder i got, which was in fact playing against the man himself. The only thing i would say is i wish the leakfinder could have been longer as it was fun to watch and I put a lot of stock into Jakesters advice. Anyway, thanks very much for the leakfinder Jakester. Very much appreciated!
