Hey all,

Just wanting to get some second opinions on a match I recently played that was over by the first hand.  This is the first hand in a $5.25 HUSNG Turbo and I have never played with this opponent before.

So I guess what I'm asking for more specifically is the dynamics of how the pre-flop betting went down.  I mean he limped, i 3x'd it which I feel is standard in that position.  But then he goes and min-raises it to 90, giving me 5:1 pot odds to call, and then when 3-bet to 280, he only raises 210 more.  So what I'm wondering is when he min-raised to 90 should I have flatted, or 3-bet as I did?  And when he raised to 490, what should the play be then?  By this point he is representing Aces or Kings, right?  Why didn't he shove over my 3-bet?  Should I recognize that I'm beat and fold my 99?  Or flat and play pocket 9's OOP with a 980 pot?

Well, because he didn't want you escaping Razz . Minraises like this (especially pre-flop) are often incredibly strong. I'd call his 3-bet and setmine, assuming an extremely strong range for him after the silly min 3-bet.

THIS WREAK OF POCKET ACES

FOLD TO THIS TYPE OF RE RAISING EVERY TIME UNLESS YOU HAVE THE
AA

OF COURSE IF YOU KNOW YOUR OPPONENT AND HAVE READS THEN BY ALL MEANS  CALL WITH 99
BUT FIRST HAND ALL INS ARE USUALLY AA V KK OR QQ  AND MANIACS HAVE J7 OFF

Raise 4x pre. Only 4bet if you're intending on getting it in, 4bet-folding is usually pretty lolbad.

Agree.

I hate the sizing of his raise to be honest, but there is to much dead money in the pot to fold 99 there I would think. (haven't done any calculations) I dunno, maybe I make mistakes in these situations. His range is heavily weighted towards QQ+ But I have seriously seen people show up with suited connectors and all kinds of shit.
