Hi- this is mainly aimed at Brokerstar (or Borg perhaps too, or anyone who has staked someone before).
What is a fair deal with regards to staking? Obviously the staker is bearing some risk, but gets a +EV return. And also (like moving up in husngs), the staker shouldn't risk a large part of his br.
What does a typical deal look like? And how do you decide the terms based on winrate?
Thanks in advance- I cba to work it out myself (and I might be wrong anyway)- or look into detail on 2+2. And yes- I know the main thing is not to get scammed _________________ 'Yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation' yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation. |

Are you thinking of staking someone? _________________ zSolo - "[23:16:21] Aaron Watson - zSolo: True poker players keep a bottle next to them and just piss in that

Staking usually goes something along these lines.
50/50 split if you are getting coaching (usually 1-2 hours per week)
30/70 (In your favour) with no coaching.
25/75 (In your favour) If you are using your own roll, but getting coaching.
These are all deals I have worked with in the past, and are completely negotiably between the two parties.
Rakeback and points are also negotiable.
Hope that is some help.
Also be clear if it is a make up, or non make up deal. _________________ "Cos that's what I do" |

Depends on my relationship with the player and the players value to me.
For example I have a couple of staked players that play such a huge volume that I get only 35% of their profits.
With people that don't play a high volume (players that I don't stake anymore to be fair) then I may do more like 50/50.
Same goes for how many buy ins I give out, just depends on how well I know the players. 5 for new people, perhaps reviewed daily and up to 20 for people I feel I know well. _________________ Heads Up Poker Course

OK. Thanks for the advice.
I gave my friend a very good deal imo (though still +EV for me). 500$ for 100 30$ games, and I keep 80% of the br above his starting br (he has to keep playing even if he loses all 500$).
Basically he is guaranteed to win some money as long as he doesn't lose over 19bis in 100 games... _________________ 'Yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation' yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation. |

I should mention that his EV ROI in 30s after 120 games is like 15% (for me to make this deal).
I don't want to sound like Jakester lol but he does play quite similar to me (but disagrees about certain ways to play some hands etc). And the reason that he needs the stake is because he is very risk averse- even more of a nit than me (and would stop playing after 3 losses in a row without stake).
So far it's been very good- up 33-17 . _________________ 'Yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation' yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation. |

Boom! In 100 games he ran at 12% EV ROI and 300$ above EV _________________ 'Yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation' yields a falsehood when appended to its own quotation. |
