Mr. Brokerstar,
Well, I'm about to quit and I've only just begun. I started playing poker a month ago. I'm a quadriplegic, cannot get a job as a freelance graphic designer and I have become desperate looking for a way to generate an income and help my wife pay some bills. As a matter of fact, it was at her urging that I start learning to play hold 'em. She was watching some show on bravo and some kid was putting off getting a job after college and decided to live off his poker winnings. I guess he was very successful at the online tables and won about 40 grand. My wife looked over at me and said " you need to play poker." Can you believe that? I have my wife's blessing to play poker!
I started out, picked it up and having natural affinity for it, made a deposit and started the micro-states and SNGs with medium to absolutely terrible results. I ended up in the top three in a handful but for the most part, I have maintained a very consistent negative ROI. So, can you really guarantee results with an absolute beginner? Because, if so, I would love to sign on for a five hour block.
Can you tell me a little bit more about your program, when we would start, what time of day you work, could I at least make enough money to pay my electric bill? Anything is better than sitting at home with a computer, college educated brain and hours of doing nothing but worry. Who knows, I could end up being a model student and would gladly lend my name and circumstances for the benefit of your poker teaching career.
So let me know at your convenience. I've been apprehensive about getting back to the tables after a particularly awful beat, so I'm ready when you are.
Thanks for the opportunity, I'm really glad I came across your post. I love the game, would love to do well and certainly welcome an opportunity to make some money.
Regards,

In the mean time, keep watching those free video's... I was a terrible player, and those videos have a great deal of knowledge in them... I have learned a hell of a lot from those video's alone... enough to go from a losing player to a slightly break even and better player. Without the course.
I am now doing his course and things seem to be coming togethor ... everything is definately improving!! Im very happy here. You should also get on Skype with us, where we help each other out alot.
cheers! |

You just started playing a month ago! You may benefit by reading a few poker books, reading articles on the various forums, and gaining a fundamental understanding of poker before you consider coaching.
I had been a student of poker for several years before signing on w/ Brokerstar, and I know that he was (at the time) looking for students who had, at least, a basic understanding of general poker theory. That being said, I don't speak for him, and I know he'll chime in here soon.
As previously mentioned, we're all here to answer any questions, and we've developed a rather tightly knit community, so feel free to post hands or questions anytime.
Best of luck!

Welcome to the forum! I know that this site will only help you improve your game. And it could just very well set you on the path to being a star...as some have. _________________ " I've been trying hard to do what's right. | Videos, charts, grind. Repeat. Brokerstar sent me an e-mail and I'm putting myself through poker boot camp here on the site and in the forums. Then I'll reassess to see where I stand. Thanks for the encouragement. You'll be seeing me around. |

Looking forward to it. Fell free to add me to skype. If you do not have it, I reccomend it. We conduct a lot of sweat sessions (1 player plays while 1 or more observe) to assist 1 another. _________________

Excellent. Sounds like a plan.
DO post hands on the forums.
DO ask questions no matter how mundane they may seem.
DO ask other members to sweat you.
DO pay attention to what Brokerstar says in those videos.
DO make sure to practice good bankroll management.
Do those things, and you'll likely learn in a very short period of time what took many months or years.
Best of luck! |

As I said in the e-mail, try to do all that you can on your own first before paying for coaching, you'll be suprised at how much you can improve with the videos, posting hands and doing sweat sessions with the guys.
Then when you honestly feel that you've done all that you can and still want to improve, then you'll be ready for coaching. But you'll be suprised how much you can do without paying a penny!!
(look at what a great businessman I am? lol)
Good luck
