Hello everybody,
I am from Belgium and new to HU poker. Just bought the course. I have been playing poker for about 2 years, but not regularly. Started with 10$ playing 10 man cash tables at the micro's. Then grinded 6 mans. Went up to about 68$, but then started to swing badly, not really knowing why.
I allways said that i would not raise the stakes in poker untill i feel i understand truely what it is about. It is a confidence game and you need to protect yourself from bad emotions.
I tried sit and goes and there i started to understand the value of the blinds better. I believe to a great extend they are the oil for your engine and playing the micro's the blinds are so small i never gave them to much attention, a mistake that will make you loose.
Also at the 10 and 6 cash games i got bored easily, causing stupid plays or not folding top pair after waiting for them...
Some weeks ago started sit and go 9 and 18 player, won some and started reading about them, but they felt to mathematical (ICM) to me.
Then stumbled on this site and finally i saw some light. I did some martial arts earlier in my life and the 'sparring' part of going for 1 opponent always intrigued me. I played some games in HU and started to see the videos on this site and i feel i get better. I play regular speed, since i need the feeling that my skill dominates my game, not just the cards.
Turbos make me feel a bit in a hurry and i really hate that feeling.
I am now at 35 $, was at 28$ 2 weeks ago. Just playing HU. Not much volume, but will proceed steadily and build a roll. My goals would be to reach between 1000 to 3000 US$ a year with this, to get started.
So thats all for now. Not really to interesting for you pro players i guess, but i want to introduce myself to you anyway and hope to learn more from you. I will try to participate in this forum regularly and ask the right questions so it contributes to this great site content even more.
Regards to all and good luck! |

| That would be ju-jitsu for 4 years combined with some boxing. Loved the sport. Have not done it for 3 years now ;-( But love poker just as much... And it will not break my nose... |
