Ok, so I have to admit I didn't complete my last turbo hu sng challenge as I couldn't commit enough time to see the results I wanted. I was up in $, but I took a little break around xmas, played some hypers and I love them, so I wanted to have a new challenge.
I have been trying to learn about them. Volume will never be mega, but I am concentrating on quality rather than quantity. Made myself play 500 before posting this, which I hope makes up a little for my previous poor efforts in this forum!
I have high hopes for this because I find the variance and tilt much more tolerable (so far) at the hypers than the turbos/reg speeds. Let's see what happens. You would be forgiven in thinking previous low volume + tilt = bad idea, but for some reason, I don't find them anywhere near as tilting as turbos/reg speeds. I think it is a similar scenario to mtts (which I also used to be good at back in the day) - the variance is so bad, I almost just assume it will come my way so I get less upset.
So I am using a 50/35 BRM and have moved from the 3s to the 7s. Next goal is the 15s and $750. Will update weekly.
GL all.
Thanks

Nice job.
Word of warning, just be prepared for much more severe variance than you have had so far. It is inevitable. Not trying to put a downer on it, looks like your doing great, but 500 games is nothing at all in Hypers.
Good luck. _________________ "Cos that's what I do" |

congrats man - hypers are brain melting IMO but i hope to move onto them in a somewhat serious fashion in the future... i'm so busy with stuff atm tho.
if you run into trouble as you move up may i recommend cog dis as a hyper-turbo coach. he specializes in this format + has a specific hyper HU course available if you get in touch with him.
keep belting it out you filthy bastard. _________________ “If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose” - C. Bukowski |

ah - you should speak to step DAAD about these. actually not seen him around for a while.
I've been playing the 6max hypers for a few months now, and while you need less BI's for HU, I would say be prepared to drop down quickly. GL though _________________ BTW. my advice is useless. I suck at poker..... |

Thanks guys. Yeah I know it is early days, but fingers crossed. One thing I will say is that, while I was (narrowly) beating the turbos and wondering where the real fish had gone, I think I have found most of them now. The players are attrocious.
Anyway, presumably the reason I cannot see a hypers thread here is because you have to be insane to attempt one...
Thanks CDM - good advice there. I had a session with Cog a couple of years ago and helped loads with the turbos.
Wanna - I have heard the 6max hypers are pretty fishy too. Good luck with that. |
