I wasn't sure under what section to put this post and decided on here as it is my first. So, right off the bat, "G'day!" From most of the posts I've read, this forum seems very supportive and helpful. I feel somewhat limited in my knowledge and therefore, haven't ventured into giving my opinion on anything. My endeavor is for this to change.
I have been watching BS's vids for a while with mixed success (doubling my BR in about a month only to lose the profit in about a day - yay me!) and overall, for HUSNGs, I'd be about even. So, I took the plunge and bought BS's training material (the $95 option). I took my time in absorbing the material before unleashing myself on the tables.
I don't play a huge volume as my nerves get the better of me. I say this as I only have a small sample size; thus far, only 31 games of reg speed $2.75 games on 888. My results have been fantastic: 25 wins for an ROI of 46.7%
Now, I am well aware that over-confidence has been my enemy in the past so am keeping this in perspective (hence, my reference to sample size). Having said that, though, I can definitely say that BS's training material has been invaluable.
For example, in my last game, I played a classic Call Station so just bided my time and then value-bet like crazy when I hit a hand.
Anyway, greetings to y'all and if you're thinking about investing in the course, I can't imagine you not getting your money's worth. |

Welcome mate.
If your nerves get to you often then I would look to work on that as a first priority. It took me some time to realise it but I believe that the mental part of the game is at least as important as the strategy part.
So just some food for thought.
Good luck at the tables _________________ "It's not enough to be a great player, you must also play great."

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Yes, I am from Australia but I haven't heard the word "cobber" used for a very long time. I used to love using that word in the broadest Aussie accent I could muster.
As far as the mental game is concerned, I couldn't agree more. When BS did his rant about "every buy-in matters, etc." I thought, "Mate, you're preaching to the choir." I could be playing for toe-nail clippings but my nervous system would respond as if I was playing for sheep stations. My way of dealing with it is only playing for short stints, developing some "fitness" and building up from there. Also, I thought studying the course and adding some tools to my kit-bag, would alleviate some of the tension.
I hark back to the days when I played cricket (could be any sport, though). I would be absolutely crappin' me dacks (Aussie slang for soiling my pants) waiting to go in to bat. But, once I got out there, it was a matter of trusting that all my practice had given me the technique to survive and thrive, and that I could block out any extraneous thoughts to play each ball on its merits. Now, it didn't always work (of course) but I could learn from any mistakes.
Anyway, thanks again for the welcomes; back to the tables for a short stint... |

Welcome to the site man you're not the only Ozzy here by any stretch.
I'm glad the course work is helping you put some game plans together, the leak finder stage of the course is what really helps people see the light in their game.
Best of luck and look forward to speaking more with you in the forums.

I only throw cobber in to keep the masses amused. I am just another fellow aussie, and it is good to see someone else from there too (unless you're from NSW - Go the Canetoads)
How do you find 888poker site ? Never played there, but Warney always giving it a great plug. By the way, dont mention the cricket on here, as there are quite a few boys on here from that place holding onto our Ashes.
Good start so far mate, and good luck with it all. _________________ "The men who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed." |

I'm a Croweater but was born in Broken Hill so when it comes to cricket and league, it's "Go the Blues!!!" When it comes to union, though, I just want any Aussie team to win, so "Go the Reds!!!" in the big final.
888 software can be painfully slow but, as you can gauge from my results so far, the competition is pretty soft at the micros. If it weren't for the latter, I'd be driven away by rake (10% for HUSNG up to $5 level but then drops to 5% from $10 level).
......and I won't mention anything about The ......... until we win them back. |
